Hey there guys, I recently bought Skryim (wooo hoo!) and i had to break out my old steam account, the problem is Steam is shitty. It rarely works and is superrrr slow.
Is there anyways to get around going through steam to play? I know of the cracks and whatnot and i am considering that because i have actually bought the game. Anything?
Thanks!

The problem is I got a new update for the steam client and it wont connect to the internet anymore so I can't play skyrim. But fortunately I found the actual game that doesnt require steam verification so i can play with out having to be logged in.
And yes it is muchhhhh better than origin.

Steam is okay.. but it is just annoying if you want to start a game quickly and eats you processing power too.

Hello, I don't usually follow threads that I post in. So if you would like to have a civilized chat / reply / argument that is of the utmost importance, just PM me. =)
There is a way to get around the steam app! You go steam, steamapps, commons, skyrim, and you should have a file named TESV. Double click it, dont run as admin. This has worked when steam has failed, hope it helps.
And yes, steam sucks, it rarely works properly and its just a pain. Why go through a third party source when you can just install it on your freaking computer. If you like steam good for you, but I for one hate it.
All the people that hate Steam most likely are using PCs/Laptops with parts that were made 9-12 years ago... Steam works very well and is one of the best digital services I've ever used. The only time I have trouble with it is if I'm getting internet problems, which does not happen often.
Its amazing how ignorant many people are.
Not everybody have internet access or even fast internet access. So forcing everybody to use Steam to install Skyrim (which one can buy on a normal DVD copy) and then also enforcing the auto download of a 200MB + patch is very ignorant and arrogant imho. I know that many third world countries that might have good enough PC's to play Skyrim ,but dont have any or any good or cheap internet access yet. Like me for instance. I am in South Africa and here we pay a fortune for internet access. If we dont have a rather expense annual connection contract (ADSL) then we are forced to pay for 3G (pay as you go) usage where they charge you per megabyte. And trust me, paying for installing Skyrim via Steam online is more expensive than buying the game itself!
I have ordered the game and is awaiting delivery. Now in the meanwhile I started reading reviews and posts on forums and got the shock of my life when I learned about the whole online installation. I need a no steam crack. Not because I am a pirate. Not becuase I have any gripes against Steam. Merely because I cannot afford any internet costs related to installing this game.
Skyrim actually works without Steam once fully installed. You just launch the Skyrim.exe from it's directory. I've done it plenty of times. The problem is that you cannot start it via the normal game launcher, allowing you to adjust your mods and extensive graphical options.
Anyways, what's so bad about Steam? I've had it for over 4 years now and I've only had it mess up on very, very rare occasions. The issue here is very likely you or your computer.
There won't be one - as it's illegal. So yes, it would make you a pirate.
If you don't even have the power to download a few gigs in a few hours, then it's a problem on your side, not one by the developers or Steam as a decent internet-connection-speed is nowerdays a standard for most people.
Also, it's not a surprise-decion they made at the very last day before release that it becomes a Steamworks-game, they annouced that months before release. Partly because Valve needs time to update their servers with the new files as well.
Cracking isn't pirating. There's nothing wrong with cracking anyways.
Those nations should properly rethink their use of words then. Digital piracy is merely the downloading of copyrighted material. Cracking a game you bought is in no way piracy.

Amen.
I believe there are ways to install retail games that use steam by loading the files off the disk.
Ahh, here's a link that should work, from the official steam site.
There is a way to play the game without actually LAUNCHING steam. You still need to download it from Steam though. Afterwards, search for TESV which is in your skyrim folder in the Steam folder and that directly launches the game without connecting to Steam. If you just don't want to download the game through Steam, the only other way would be to ask a friend to copy the files over, which will allow steam to instantly finish a game download, or get a cracked version/buy the console version.

False
You could always buy a store copy.
Even if you buy it from somewhere other then Steam, you will still need to install it through Steam. AFAIK there is no real way around it.

No, that falls under the umbrella of copyright infringement. Digital piracy is only the act of distributing or downloading copyrighted works.
