So I got The Binding of Isaac, a new game from the people who brought us Super Meatboy, and it's supposed to be a VERY difficult game as per Meatboy, but when I play, it's completely ruined for me because of the low FPS I get even on the lowest possible graphics settings when there's anything more than 2 moving or animated objects on screen. This makes the game SLOW, WAY too easy and boring as hell after I've run through the game twice and it's a game you're supposed to run through at least 11 times.
My frames don't drop drastically like other people who have severe hardware/software problems, but I tend to get 10-12 frames per second on average in a 1 on 1 fight (I think) and that's before anyone fires any projectiles. Is there any way I can increase the performance of this game so it plays properly? I know my specs aren't the best, but surely I can run a game like this on the lowest settings at a decent pace?
You might need to update the drivers for your graphics card and cpu. I also suggest you upgrade your ram to at least 2GB. 1GB is pathetic nowadays and the extra ram would benefit you in computer/laptop performance.
Everything's already updated and I asked because I can't upgrade any hardware. Was kinda hoping for a software fix like being able to allocate more memory to Minecraft so frames don't drop because of certain mods.
LOL I know, my hardware is garbage, but you should have seen what was in there before I upgraded about 8 months ago XD
The P4 is fine, the 1 gig is ho-hum, but fine if you're using xp.
It's really just the graphics card that's killing you. Unfortunately there really isn't much room for upgrading anymore. I decided to build a completely new computer because they don't sell parts for systems that old. It's just the cold hard truth.
There are ppl with lousy graphics cards that are worse than yours and play the game better. There are also posts that say ur graphics card has little to play in running this game, but I'm not sure lol. Even I can run it better than u. I have a graphics chip...Much worse than urs.. .horrible for gaming... And still have very low amounts of fps drops. I've seen ppl who with super graphics cards run very CPU intensive games on ultra graphics and everything set to high bla bla bla...but they play this game with low fps like u...dono y..
There is nothing wrong with your hardware. The fact is, The Bitding of Isaac is written on Flash, making the game WAY less effective at rendering graphics. I don't think that there is really anything you can do. There is a remake coming soon that runs a new engine (runs miles faster) and has more content. If you really want to play just wait for the remake.
