I am kinda scared for Battlefield 3 because the Bad Companies were ok but they got more "COD-ized" after the second one came out. And i have played the battlefield 3 beta and Operation Metro played exactly like Modern Warefare. The things about the map is that it was designed that way on purpose. If DICE wanted people to be impressed with the beta, they would have released Caspian border for the public testers.
The thing i am really scared about is the community. New people will be coming to the Battlefield series thinking it will be another arcade shooter like MW2 or 3. (I don't mean any offense by this. LOL) I was hoping for BF2 with better graphics, pretty much. LOL
What do you guys think? :wink.gif:
EDIT: I agree with all the people who say the beta sucked because Operation Metro was the WRONG map to show battlefield fans. It seems as though DICE is trying so hard to impress the COD community that they forgot what makes Battlefield fun!
Same, and worst thing of all Mod tools will not be released or at least officially support ones.. if you played BF2 major mods you know why that is such a disappointment.
Also I hate rush mode in general, the aspect is great defend location from enemy but due to the fact you cannot push back kinda blows i would much rather have an official insurgency mode tweaked for the general audience or better yet modern day Titan (like) mode.
I expect BF3 to amaze many on PC, as it has in the past.
But if you are playing on console, I don't think it will as much. Not to say it won't but BF has never been meant for consoles (Bad Company series is more of a spin off... sort of).
So as a PC player, I am not scared. As a console player, I just have lower expectations.
The Battlefield 3 Beta disappointed me, it seems like they were trying to please the COD fans more than the Battlefield fans.
Well that's because they did try to please COD fans. The CEO of EA said that BF3 "is designed to take down [Modern Warfare 3]", and what better way to take it down then to convert players from one game(COD) to another(BF)?
