A limited number of members from the community were given access to the game today to begin play-testing (including Doctor G33k here!). Many bugs were added to the known list, and many people were finally able to get in and see Epic Inventor for themselves! It's been an exciting day :wink.gif:
Awesome game! As long as it's free you've got my download when it comes out! You should add a very diverse ore and weapon collections, it would be awesome!

We intend to!
We're working on a big update to be released on Saturday to our testers - we're pretty excited :wink.gif:
Quick update - we put up a new version for testers that had over 70 bug fixes and many new features... including trees and mountains (with parallax and everything!) :wink.gif:
I managed to get into the alpha testing and ive got to say it's amazing how far this game has come in such a short time.
Also i like the new vid you put upvery much.
Sounds awesome; though I am saddened that I was not given access ;3 happy developing.
Round 1 testing is about to close. When we open up Round 2 in two weeks (with new Multi-player Co-op functionality), we'll be bringing back all previous testers, and many new testers (most who apply).
Well, Round 1 testing is coming to a close. Tomorrow we will put testing on hold for two weeks while we implement Multi-player Co-op! At that point, we will begin Round 2 testing. If you helped test during this round, you will be included in Round 2.
If you want to help with testing (and were not part of Round 1), please read the following thread to apply. This second round will see many people being invited to test (where round 1 was limited to 54 people).
In other exciting news... a few days ago, we submitted Epic Inventor to Steam for consideration as a new title for their platform! We're very excited about this, but nervous as well. Since we started, it has been a dream to have a game of ours on Steam. Even getting to the point where we had a demo to submit was a crazy idea only a few months ago! With that said, we are fully prepared to distribute the game ourselves if, for any reason, we are not accepted there. Right now, the plan is to release the game to the public in November in a BETA form, so keep an eye out for that!
Oh, and let me drop a recent screenshot in here while I'm at it!
Regarding testing: Yes, it is possible to get in on testing. We will begin Round 2 testing around the middle of November. This round will include the multi-player functionality, so the testing will be less limited than round 1 was (we kept it to 54 testers).
Next Monday, the 14th (or so), we will be releasing a build (to all testers) of Epic Inventor that will have multi-player functionality! I would like to invite you to come over and join the forums, then perhaps introduce yourself and hang with us in the meantime :wink.gif:
During multi-player testing, we will be opening up the process to many more people than we have previously. Most who apply for testing will be accepted during this period as we hope to hunt down as many bugs and issues as possible!
If you dig Terraria we think you will dig Epic Inventor. While Terraria was one of the primary inspirations behind EI, our game plays much differently for a number of reasons. Come on over and find out more!
Looks like you found it - yea, it's just (for anyone else curious) a user group you simply click a link to apply to - no forms to fill out or anything!

Looks can be deceiving - it plays very differently than Terraria, you should check it out if you get a chance :wink.gif:
