The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is an epic, open-ended single-player game where you create and play any kind of character you can imagine. Be the noble hero embarking on an epic quest, or an insidious thief rising to leadership of his guild. Be a malevolent sorcerer developing the ultimate spell of destruction, or a reverent healer searching for the cure to a plague. Your actions define your character, and your gameplay changes and evolves in response to your actions. Confront the assassins' guild, and they take out a contract on you. Impress them, and they try to recruit you instead. No two sagas are the same in the world of Morrowind.
Players can choose to follow the intriguing main storyline, or set off to explore the huge province of Morrowind and the many interesting people and exotic locations it contains. Vast cities and remote villages dot the landscape, each with its own unique look and feel. Hundreds of quests and adventures await as you interact with characters and learn more. Regardless of whether you play a murdering assassin or a noble knight, the game holds endless possibilities and allows you to revisit the main storyline at any time.
Yes, I've made an actual thread about Morrowind, because there SUPRISINGLY wasnt one.
Personally, it's the best game I've played to date. Graphics arent pretty, and character animations are lacking, but that's not what I look for in a game. The gameplay mechanics are excellent, the story is grand, and the characters are fun. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the bestiary.
Unlike most FPS games, Morrowind does NOT run on an aim-and-hit combat style. Your attacks will hit on a roll... a D&D based system, almost. If the skill and governing stat are high, you can expect to be hitting quite alot. If they're low, expect to be hearing "whoosh" alot. This point normally confuses newcomers to the game, as they cannot just look at something and expect it to die. Most enemies will hit you more than you hit them, starting out.
With that, have fun! :3c

I am NOT going to see friend requests, so stop sending them.
Ach yea. Morrowind, the game that stole 3.5 years of my life (I'm serious, i played the damn thing for 3 years).
Oh and i must add that it is definitely my favorite game of all time. Period.
I prefer Oblivion. The main reason is that I like to hit what I swing at close range, and secondary is that Oblivion HAS NO GODDAMNED CLIFF RACERS! (Not Cliff, the evil flying things.)
In fact, Daggerfall has the largest world in an rpg(largest cities too)
There's a very promising remake of it called DaggerXL, and it will have a 100 mile draw distance soon.

morrowind is the game ive been looking for my entire life, a FPSRPG that can run on my computer, and has that fantasy touch. although im going to have to used to it, i just got it a few days ago. and personally i prefer morrowind over oblivion(although i wish i can customize my characters appearance like in oblivion).
Sadly, I no longer have my copy of Morrowind for my XBox... The last action I did with my spearman was go on a killing spree, and talk to whats-his-name at the center of the blight place... Wanted to see if I could join him...
Played for a bit, annoyed at the fact that it is impossible to avoid Cliff Racers and nigh-impossible to hit them early on...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Use a spear, and always use the jabbing attack by backpedaling when attacking them.
Not too hard~

But back then, it was one of the games on PC that had the best graphics, it was the best thing ever happened since sliced bread.

TES VI will feature cliff racers.
Ain't got **** on Daggerfall.
Morrowind, more or less, was 3D Daggerfall. Can't say I played it, though, so I may be wrong.
Wutch'u talking about?
Daggerfall was fully 3D(Except for the enemies).
There's a very promising remake of it called DaggerXL, and it will have a 100 mile draw distance soon.

...And yes, I prefer Morrowind to Oblivion. :wink.gif:
Sarcasm: A sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark.
However my laptop has no CD drive, so I can't play it. I'm waiting to get an external one.
Regardless, game looks really fun.
You are HEDGE the ARGONIAN ARCHER. You use a SILVER LONGSWORD that you bought from the PAWN SHOP in BALMORA.
Also, does anyone know where Tysia in Balmora is? I need to return her bong. I found it on some dead guy.
