It just seems to me that everyone only likes Pokémon because of Pokémon GO, I don't play it because of personal reasons, but I would prefer the the console games and such over Pokémon GO, but its the closest thing anyone could get to real Pokémon with the tech we have today, so, point is, almost everyone likes Pokémon GO and doesn't know play any other Pokémon game besides that, its so sad to me, but it doesn't really matter because, if you like something, you like something, and the game might be fun, Idk I've never played it

From the rooftop she came… and pulled out her tablet…📱
There was a period where I was a big pokemon fan. Red/Blue/Yellow, Silver, Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2, Pokemon TCG for the gameboy color, and a plethora of physical Pokemon cards.
It's my understanding that there's an online version of the Pokemon TCG, which I'm half tempted to check out.
Took a look through my old card box (has a bunch of old pokemon tcg, Star Wars CCG, and Magic the Gathering cards). Consulting wikipedia, it seems I collected pokemon TCG cards between the base release and the Neo Genesis expansion.
I'll just mention the foils I picked up at the time.
I used to trade Pokemon cards with friends a few years ago, but that kinda died down. I don't play Pokemon GO often, and I'm not a big fan of it myself.
If the Fallout and Mass Effect games count as RPG's, then yes a lot of them. I think it's just Pokemon's art style that bugs me, I couldn't name more than one or two 'cartoony' games that I enjoyed.

And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall, and not a soul to hear.
Fallout and Mass Effect are 100% "western" action RPGs.
The main line pokemon games have turn-based combat and are distinguished by their creature capturing mechanic, roster management, cool monsters, and light tone (personally, I got put off JRPGs when the genre turned into one big angst fest). But as the above poster noted, not everyone is into the anime art style.
So to that end, some pokemon fan art I've come across illustrated in alternate art styles:
There is actually a quite a bit of this kind of fan art out there.
I started Pokemon with Pokemon firered for Gameboy advanced. I have up to Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. But I am skipping out on Sun/Moon because there is a lot of changes they made that I am not a fan of.
I never really liked the games. I think one of my friends showed me a copy of Yellow on a old gameboy he bought god knows where when I was young but I called it boring and grew a hate for it.
Finished Pearl, X and Alpha Sapphire and have played Red, Heartgold, Platinum and Black out of the main games, and have finished Mystery Dungeon Blue, Ranger: Shadows of Almia and Ranger: Guardian Signs from the spin-off games.
Honest to god i have no idea how i ever chugged through 3 whole main pokemon games, which have some of the most BORING gameplay ever. I've simply come to accept that the main Pokemon games are my guilty gaming pleasures since i know they do not have good gameplay but play them anyway.
But the Ranger games were awesome (maybe not the first one, that didn't age so great) and i would love for a new one of those to come out.
And regarding Pokemon GO, i haven't even touched that thing, simply because at no point during it's popularity did i have a compatible phone on which to play it.
Well, Pokemon was a large part of my childhood. I think the first game that I played was Firered/Leafgreen and I played all the main Pokemon games up till Black and White.
I really enjoyed the spinoff games as well, particularly Mystery Dungeon and the Ranger series. I hope they continue to release more of those spinoff games in the future and not just keep pumping out more games from the main series.

I've liked Pokemon since Platinum version came out. But I'd be surprised if anyone called themselves a Pokemon fan just cause they play Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO triggered a resurgence in Pokemon's mainstream popularity. I was a fan before GO, but GO helped get me interested in Pokemon again.
My battle.net is Kirbyintron#1254, if you want to play some Overwatch with me.

Base: Chansey, Charizard, Ninetails, Blastoise, Mewtwo, Zapdos, Raichu, Victreebel, Machamp, Hitmonchan
Jungle: Kangaskhan
Fossil: Ditto, Lapras, Magneton, Raichu, Muk, Hitmonlee
Base 2: Nidoking
Team Rocket: Dark Dragonite, Dark Slowbro, Dark Vileplume, Dark Machamp
Neo-Genesis: Meganium
Promo: Meowth, Dark Persian

Oh yeah, Im not a nineties kid, but I'll tell you, I love the first few pokemon games.
I actually have a gameboy emulator on my smartphone since I can't get my hands on an actual gameboy.
Pokemon Go is overrated, It's not even really Pokemon. Its something else and I can't get into it.
That is basically me, except I got Yellow on my 3DS because I don't have a phone

No, but technically I've never liked Pokemon at all. It just didn't click with me.

Have you tried any other RPGS or JRPGS before?

I discovered it back in 2008, so it's safe to say I was a fan before Pokemon Go came out. In fact, I hate Pokemon Go, so yeah.
I post pretty rarely nowadays. Gosh, I wish this place weren't so... empty...
I started Pokemon with Pokemon firered for Gameboy advanced. I have up to Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. But I am skipping out on Sun/Moon because there is a lot of changes they made that I am not a fan of.
I loved every pokemon game, including sun and moon. I hated Pokemon Go starting 5 minutes in.

Never liked Go either, I am too lazy to walk...
I played the blue and yellow versions when I was 12
