I have been trying to search the net for a game that three or more people can play that fills certain requirements. My searches have brought back no results for anything I was looking for. It actually found the opposite of what I was looking for every time. No matter the search terms used.
Things the game needs to have:
character building with stat driven characters. Two of us love to design characters then watch them get more powerful as the game progresses. Almost all the games I play have this as a major feature in them.
No role playing. We have tried for over ten years to play table top role playing games like D&D and pathfinder. We do the fighting. We do the looting. We skip the role playing and exploring. We have tried using campaigns, modules, in house creations. None worked for us.
Non technology based games. Only two of us have computers and the other is extremely tech illiterate. It is all they can do to follow the game. They mostly just play to listen to the talking actually.
It must require talking. We don't do talking. So we want something that would force us to talk.
Dice would be nice. We have lots of them and would like to use them.
Preferably games that don't require heavy investments. We all live on low fixed incomes.
I have probably left a lot out. Any help on this would be appreciated though.
