Arguments happen, they just do, you can't stop it, no matter how much power you have, even if it takes years to settle, when it does, everyone is stronger for it. Rivalries can be made into friendships if you let them.
Some ideas are meant to be made into reality, but most need to be burned at the stake.

Those four counties marked in the MMR colors (orange) crossed with blue is to be explicitly untouched until I get in, take some stuff I have planned, discussed with Vilage, and have had approved out of there. On the way, I will be conducting the same amount of Post Apcolyptia humor that created the Republic of Queer (based out of Gaylord, it is predominately inhabited by homosexuals who were banned from their communities or left on their own volition).
Detroit-Flint (marked red) is an area controlled predominately by the maddened people of Detroit (the number one group being dubbed the "Zulus" and even , except with auto-parts weapons. As well as a number of raider gangs/tribes like a bunch of diminutive midgets me and Hugz came up with (Which I dubbed Tyrions). This area also incorporates Metropolitan Windsor and some of the country-side there by proximity to Detroit.
And then we have Saginaw County which Hugz claimed on the basis of going Frankenmuth.
All this talk about weapons and what it's going to be like 40 years down the road leads to a very important point, where is everyone getting guns and ammo? Everything we have now is mass produced on an assembly line. 40 years of no electricity I think we'll be back to cannons and black powder weapons with maybe the odd stock pile of anything better.

So your telling me that I'll be competing for auto-parts with the Zulus?
Awesome.

In the same spirit as Aaron, here is a map of the area i'll be in (I suppose I should also mention I am assuming creative control over Wisconsin and Chicago. The later because I want it to be a no-mans land. Nobody gets to be in Chicago_

Just a thought. Village?
It is a thought was focused on heavily in the first SO, and there we had decided to downgrade to black powder guns and medieval weaponry.
Since so many major influences in the post-apocalyptic genre includes modern weapons, however, I figured we should just ignore the ammo question this time around. We'll go with FPS rules. Ammo is unlimited.

Perhaps in such times, handmade ballistic weapons could be common, like, similar to muskets, one-shot, then reload. Gun Makers would be quite popular among townfolks and others, and perhaps maybe some of them produce guns in an old world factory or something, like the Gun Runners from Fallout NV.

A wiki? Now that... Could work. And I would like to assume creative rights for the Killbuck Trail. I'll get a map up relatively soon. People can still pass through, just building things and story arch and other stuff. Like the collapsing sewer systems.

Thinking of choosing Kitchener Ontario to base myself out of.
Kitchener has a nearby airport, is near an aquifer, is connected to highways 7,8, and 401, is connected to Guelph, Toronto, London, Woodstock, Stratford, Oakville, Brantford by rail, and is connected to the Grand River. It's also got two decent sized gun manufacturers. Oh, and three or so hospitals and a medical school.
After looking at 5 maps I see where I really want to be, if you don't mind I'm taking Clare, mainly because the town of Harrison is where my fathers side of my family lives, I went there one winter, it wasn't too bad which is weird for someone who lives in Louisiana, but I learned that there are different types of snow and that I showed up when it gets chunky and wet where it doesn't make snow-anything... But enough about real life....

Why else would I have put it here? I know that he's got control over it, he's said it 5 times already, Clare on his map is free
What's the plan for Clare? I am most curious
And the more I think about this the more it sounds like the TV show Jericho... Not a very good show, cool idea, and quite a bit like this I would imagine except our electricity stays gone.

So you'll have to talk to them if you want to set up in their respective areas.

Muahaha... Sold.
Edit: Are we doing a wiki for this as well?
