Hearing a commotion coming from the direction he's heading, Engel has conflicted thoughts on whether or not to continuing but he can slightly smell the insects and tritor meat although old he thinks it's probably the insects making their attempt to scare predators and continues.
After shaking hands with the monkey, Zaxon told the other mantisects that the apes were friendly, and they slowly moved towards the apes, and stared at them curiously. Then the whole ape colony went bezerk, and Zaxon started to back away again, and tried to figure out what he had done wrong, until he realized they were sounding an alarm. Zaxon went to go and ask the ape what went wrong.
Getting closer to the source of the noise, Engel realized that sound was not the insects but some other noise, he could make out the scent of the insects and tritor but he could now smell something similar to the monkey that was with the lizard and he was unsure what was going on but he felt as if he owed the insects and started to run towards them to try and offer help, but suddenly he felt a slight burning and he was forced to stop although this time it wasn't nearly as intense he felt a bit heavier but the extra weight was counter balanced by new strength.
Anna attempts to tell the insect (Zaxon), "Apparently...one of our kind got eaten! But, I can't make out what the description of said creature." Eventually, over time the colony as a whole calms down, although scared and sad by the loss of a member. (#41)

Tynebris rushes fast away and stops till he feels confident that they weren't following him. He places the corpse onto the ground, a bit frustrated that these apes are small. Suddenly Tynebris feels heat building up near his lungs as well as pain. The pain causes him to roar, while facing the dead ape, and as roars a flame bursts out of his mouth roasting the dead ape. The heat near his lungs cool down and he wonders what happened.
Finally making it to where the commotion, Engel saw the apes and the insects weren't fighting and felt slightly stupid for thinking that they were because, his only reasoning for believing they were because the monkey was with the lizard that one time he had an encounter. He now neared the colony cautiously hoping they wouldn't attack.
The apes group together in stead of going back into the trees, since they feel they don't have to with the big, friendly creatures (mantisects). They are scared of Engel since he resembles a wolf but bigger than the usual. If it is a wolf, where is the rest of its pack? The apes wonder. (#42)
After the ape explained what happened, and the rest of them calmed down, Zaxon spoke to the ape again, telling her that it couldn't be the tritor beast that had attacked their colony, explaining that he and two wolves had attacked and killed it earlier that day.
Engel gets slightly closer and tries to greet the apes "Hello I am Engel." he says although doubtful that they can understand him, he slightly whimpers and lowers his head to try and show that he was a friendly animal.

Tynebris starts eating the corpse amazed but also confused by the flame he breathed. While eating the heat increases slightly, however he only notices once he was done. What is this heat, why does it cooldown and suddenly heat up again? he wonders while he searches for a prey in the vacant area, but trying to avoid the apes.

While searching Tynebris stays on the ground to remain undetected. He picks up the scent of a nearby deer, he follows the track and observes the deer. It's his first time hunting animals bigger than chicken, so he observes it for a much longer, to understand its behaviour. He then leaps at it biting it in the neck. However, he applies more force to the neck than he would need for a rabbit. Finally it dies.
"The tritor is dead? Then what killed...?" A dozen predators come to mind, but finally she gets information from a nearby ape that it was a winged lizard. "Could it be?" Anna wondered to herself. Other apes nearby with the Mantisects are now focused on the lone wolf. One wondered if it was intelligent or something like the mantisects, and offered its hand: cautiously. (#43)
Looking back up Engel saw one ape holding a hand out towards him, he tried putting his paw on the hand slightly cutting it because of the sharpness and length of his claws he whimpered and tried to lick the blood to try and show he didn't mean to.
Wakes up from slumber and looks around seeing that Engel isn't there continues down the path they were walking on before Storm was forced into a deep slumber from sleep exhaustion. On the way there she thinks about Engel and his new wings and how she is so ordinary.

Tynebris drags the deer a bit and then roasts it a bit with his recent gained ability: fire breath. Unaware of the smell caused by roasting the corpse he starts eating it, enjoying each single bite he takes from the roasted meat.
Race Application
Name of Race- Archaeopteryx
Appearance- With a long, fluid, sinewy and lengthy, heavily slanted wings coupled with extremely light-sensitive eyes on either side of a falcon-like head, the Archaeopteryx (Archyx for short) is a bird of prey. Being color blind and totally lacking a sense of smell helps to negate these advantages. But they are fast. Really. Freaking. Fast.
Starting Population-600 of each
Other- Archyx's have green colored leaves in the summer and spring, turning to red and gold in the fall, and then to white in the winter as way of natural camouflage. Molting four times a year leaves them grounded, unable to fly for a total of twenty-eight days, or a week each molt. They are also omnivorous, eating small animals and fruit, but generally staying away from nuts.
Character Application
Name- Skyrrow
Age- 17
Race- Archaeopteryx
Gender- Male
Personality- Thinks everything through 2-3 times, tries to be logical about things. Does not like being aggressive. At all.
Appearance- About 120 cm long from tip of beak to end of tail, and a perfect specimen of an aerial organism, his legs are relatively weak, but he has powerful eyesight, his two brown eyeballs discerning minute details.
Bio- Skyrrow started his life by falling, as all other Archyx do. Falling from 5,000 feet up, struggling to extend his wings before he was ripped apart by the tree canopy, or dashed against the hard forest floor. Snapping his wings open at the last second he managed to fly back up to his parents, who were practically grinning with euphoria. He was a natural flier, the best in his generation. Most baby Archyx touched the ground with their wingtips before reaching back for the skies. Over the years his prowess grew, and thus his reputation, and he united all Archaeopteryx into one tribe. And by the years I mean about five.
