This interests Niamh, but she is more interested in knowing the people in the room with her first.
Orson sees notices the person walking into the church, but then remembers the stairs, and goes back into the church to attempt to climb the stairs again.
He carefully then walks up the stairs, trying his hardest not to crack or break the stairs.
"Man, that's a cold hand, even for my standards" he muttered under his breath. Breaking the handshake, he decided to investigate the snowmen further. If what the girl said was true, then these are more than just accurate - they're supernatural.
Niamh wasn't paying attention as strongly as she probably should have, but picked up on "cold" and "standards".
"Sorry about that, my skin temperature is extremely cold when my magic is standing by." she replies quietly to Silus.
She points to the blue glowing lines in her palm and traces them up her arm.

"Who is that person climbing up those stairs weirdly?"
"If you want to strike out on your own, I can't stop you," Jack states, turning back in the direction he came from, "but I still have business to attend to at the church. I have yet to resolve the reason I, and I would assume the others, came to the church in the first place- investigating yesterday's explosion. Whatever it is that's bothering you, there's safety in numbers, and unless you have your own business to take care of here, sticking with us would probably be in your best interest, but once again, I can't force you to. The choice is yours." With that, Jack starts walking back towards the church.
"Mmmyeah. That," she mumbles, but makes no move to get off the roof. "I think I'll stay... here..."
The inside of the house is dark, and dusty. The door was also apparently rotten, as it falls over into the house as Ariel opens it.
"Wow, nice job breaking it, Angel."
"Yeah," Ariel joked, "angels are renowned for not knowing their own strength."
He turns to look at the Maras' spear, regarding the blue glow. "Can you get that thing bright enough for a good look around this place? Better yet, bugger it..." He looks around for a window and curtains to open...

"Sorry, but this ain't a torch."
Fortunately though, Ariel finds curtains to open, letting light into the building. It looks as though the people who lived here vanished without a trace, as the dining table is set and there's (now rotten) food on the plates.
"Well, they didn't get to have a nice meal it seems."

"No surprise."
Ariel goes into the next room, a living area of types, and opens up some more curtains. He sees some paintings hanging about the walls, family portrait, a couple of children, no doubt a family house, but nothing in the room was of any great use.
"I guess the bedroom's farther on." He tells Maras, indicating for him to follow along. "so can I ask you a personal question, kid? How old are you? Because something tells me you're older than you look." As he is talking, he enters the next room, a bedroom, and starts searching through a wardrobe for some decent clothes.

"How old I am? I have no idea to be honest. The fact that my usual home doesn't have a day-night cycle doesn't help either."
The kid wanders around the house too, looking around.
"So, why did you get kicked out anyway? Said something wrong?"

"haha," Ariel lifts a few garments, looking them over; "I actually saw a few of my associates doing things I thought they shouldn't be doing to humans. But instead of going to daddy to report the issue, i confronted them directly, which started a war in heaven. So basically I'm being punished for not following the rules of conduct.... aaaand, as it turns out, I was mistaken, my fellow angels weren't doing anything they hadn't been ordered to do. so here I am, getting my slap on the wrist."
Ariel picks out a nice looking top, shade of blue grey, long sleeves, woolly, in case it gets cold, but not too thick as to stifle him in the warmth. He puts it on. It fits well. As he starts looking for something to slip on the lower half of his body, he calls out to Maras in the other room:
"Did you know that us angels, at least while in heaven, see time as one unit? That is to say, the past, future and present are much the same thing. Well, that's the best way I can describe it in terms you might understand. The thing I find most difficult to handle about actually being human is handling logic with the concept of time as humans know it."
There were no decent pants in that room, so Ariel moves onto the next room and starts sifting through more drawers.

"Sucks to be you then. Gonna try to get back or what?"
Maras finds a random Teddy Bear sitting on a drawer and decides to take it with him, putting it on his head to carry it around.
"We don't really care much for time anyway, my Mistress is older than some of the deities that are still around, and when you get that old all days just blend into one. Only person that kinda still cares about time is Lyudmila because she's the youngest."

"What uh...." Ariel sees Maras carrying the teddy on his head and has to laugh. "So, what species are you actually? I mean, each rank of angel is allocated what information about various species they are allowed to have, I obviously wasn't given any information on your type. And, to answer your question, I think for now, yeah, I wanna try and get back, this being human with so many weaknesses, including dying, isn't something that sits well with me. I guess I'll see how it goes. I guess if I do well, the big guy will let me back into the fold, at some point."
Ariel finally finds a nice pair of black pants, draped over the back of a chair next to some fine men's boots. He puts it all on, but as he is slipping on the boots he notices something else that catches his attention, brown leather gloves, with wrist straps. Very stylish. He slips them on too, puts the sword back on his back, and fold up the cape he had been wearing, thinking he would return to Renard at some point. He didn't really want the baggage, but he had little choice but to carry the cape around until he met up with the guy again. So he unfolded the cape once more and put it on, again, only this time wearing it as an actual cape instead of a skirt.
Properly dressed, at last, that is if you ignore the cape, Ariel decides to keep looking around the house a while longer.
"Going through other peoples things is fun," he says; "But i have one other question for you. Any idea how a man might get up on that plateau in town?"

"My species? I'm not sure really. I tend to refer to myself as a Human but I know that I'm not. My mistress did once say something interesting about the subject. How I'm similar to beings such as Death as there is nobody similar to me. So I guess I'm not part of a species but a one-of-a-kind being? You'd have to ask my mistress for more information."
"And maybe you should try and look into better options than just hoping. There's plenty of ways to become immortal if you fear death, such as becoming a Magician and completing the Immortality Rituals."
"As for the plateau, I haven't gotten a clue."
"Hmm... I'm not sure, really. My mistress has been avoiding the topic when I asked her about it, all I know is that it's important somehow." Lyudmila shrugs.
"But yea, we should get going soon so we have more daytime."
Renard frowns.
"Your 'mistress'? Am I helping to do someone's dirty work?"
"Mmmyeah. That," she mumbles, but makes no move to get off the roof. "I think I'll stay... here..."
As Jack heads back to the church, he can't help but consider whether it was a mistake to have just left Gwendolyn by herself, though as the building comes into sight his focus returns to other matters. He watches the snowmen with caution as he makes his way to the entrance, giving them one last glance as he enters the church before passing through the hallway and into the main room with Niamh and Silas. "I see you two have already met," he begins, walking over to his helmet and picking it up, putting it back on before continuing, "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to recover our young friend; she insisted on, well, not coming back. But in any case, once we're all acquainted with each other, perhaps we can move on to what we originally came here to do."

"What would that be, Jack. Does it involve this giant sword?"
"Yesterday, an explosion occurred around this area. We- perhaps not all of us, but most of us- came here to investigate the source of that explosion. We haven't found anything yet, as a... rather spontaneous snowstorm forced us to take refuge in this church. As for the sword, I can't say I'd guess it's related to the explosion. But then again I'm not really sure of anything about it, honestly. Except that it is, in fact, a giant sword."

Staring at Renard was getting a little boring since she was now being totally ignored by him, so Chisille decided that it would probably be a good idea to check around the main area a bit more, to see what else she could find before they leave and all that. She gazed upon the many books that she had no hope of reading, this was more evident when she tried to pry open one of the books, but looked completely clueless when she saw all the gibberish the written language is.
Closing the book, she scampered over towards the front door, pushing the solid part of it with a paw in an attempt to open it. The door is shut tightly to keep out the cold of the snow outside. She wondered if she should open the door and go outside herself, but that would involve showing the others she could open door... Mentally sighing, she figured they were going to know eventually...
Gathering the strength in her back legs, she lifted her front half up to where the door handle was, and after a few moments of her paws struggling to get a good grip, she twists the handle and the door opens enough to let some of the cold air inside.
First she peeked outside to make sure she wasn't doing something stupid by wanting to go out.
