You've heard the rumours quite a lot of times now. People say that mysterious things are going on around the town of Waise, an old town built around the Waise Plateau. Nobody really knows for sure what is going on there, as the rumours haven't really been consistent. Some claim that people are disappearing, or that monsters roam the lands, or that the weather is behaving strange, but it is known that there's something going on in the town, and the government has decided to quarantine the town to stop people from entering or leaving the area.
You've managed to find a way into the town, the reason why you want to do that only known to you. You'll figure out how to get out of the town at a later point in time.
The town of Waise itself is built around the Waise Plateau, on which an ancient king once built his castle. The castle itself is inaccessible, the plateau's cliffs are far too steep to climb. A river originates somewhere inside the plateau as it flows through Waise and out towards the ocean. The lands between Waise and the border of the Quarantine Zone are mostly farmland and wilderness, with the occasional abandoned tower and other buildings standing out compared to the relative wilderness of the rest of the place.
As you enter Waise you notice how empty the town is, there's very little people on the streets and lots of buildings seem abandoned. Strangely enough, it is also snowing, even though it's summer.
As it gets colder and darker, you realise it might be smart to try and find some shelter from whatever is in the town that caused so many people to vanish or leave...
Greetings, and welcome!
I've decided to once again make another RP, woo!
Anywho let's get down to business. The RP will be set in/around the town of Waise, as the players can't leave because of the Quarantine placed on the town and the area around it. The 'tech level' of the RP is late (fantasy) medieval, Gunpowder Weapons are very, very rare. I don't have a map for Waise, but I'll try and get one if I can.
Anyway here are the rules and character sheet:
Rules: 0. As the GM, what I say goes. No arguing
1. No Godmodding, Metagaming and other unfun activities.
2. No insta-kills, autohits or dodging everything. Take hits and don't be upset when your attack misses it's target (Don't forget that a hit is not necessarily a lethal one).
3. You can't undo things. What this means is that if you do something, you can't go back on it unless EVERYONE agrees.
4. Certain powers are too OP. (Flight/Levitation, Teleportation, Cloaking/Invisibility, Advanced Anti-Magic, Mind Reading/Control, and such). Your character(s) are not allowed to be too powerful either, and certainly not immortal.
5. Certain powers will be toned down if your character has them, such as Telekenisis and other powers.
6. I reserve the right to make the final call on disagreements that cannot otherwise be settled and order you to change things if you break a rule.
7. You should also tell me a joke in the Other section if you want to be accepted.
8. Be realistic in regard to some things like moving around, being wounded and combat. (You can't run through 4 rooms and up two flight of stairs to cut someone's throat while bleeding to death with only one leg and a spear in your head.) This also applies to conversation, so no talking to people who are not in the same room as your character
9. Character death is permanent (unless I agree with it not being permanent). Apply for a new character if your old character died.
10. I have the right to deny any character that is either to OP or does not fit in. If a character is denied, I'll respond with why it is denied and a suggestion on how to change it so it will be accepted without having to design a new character. If I deny you three times you can't join.
11. If you do not list an ability in the character form, you do not have it unless you gain that ability later (If you wish to gain an ability, PM me.)
12. Having multiple characters is allowed, but don't go overboard with them.

Apparently this is what some of my friends think of me here:
Appearance: A young female dragon, only 6 years old. When standing upright on her back legs, she can reach about 4 feet tall. On all fours she's only about 2 and a half feet tall.
As a dragon, she has light grey coloured scales that cover her entire body, except for the parts under her chin, the front of her neck all the way down under her belly and all the way under her to the tip of her tail. This part is instead a gold-yellow coloured sort of skin rather then scale. Her wings are small for her size, but they would get bigger as she grows up.
She has a short snout and quite big emerald green eyes, being young and all. Down her back she has rather flat studs that act as extra protection, but not much due to her age since they haven't fully grown.
Her little paws have very sharp claws on the end of them, but they are very short at the same time. At the end of her tail is a spike that acts as a very flexible claw, bending enough that it can either act as a stinger or as a hook.
Abilities: As a dragon, she has the ability to breathe flames out of her mouth like a flamethrower. This
Unfortunately being so young her wings do not yet give her the ability to fly as she is too weak to lift herself off the ground. However she can still use them to glide downwards slowly.
Due to her youth her scales haven't yet hardened to their full potential so she is still rather vulnerable to physical attacks compared to an adult. Her scales still give her minor magic resistance and are soft and smooth though.
She can walk around slower on her back legs in a way, giving her access to carrying or interacting with things using her front paws. Her tail spike also allows her to carry things, or just outright stab them if she needs to.
Thanks to her past, she can imitate the speech patterns of english speaking humans, but not to the proficiency of most of them. It takes a little bit of concentration to do at this age, but she can change the colour of her scales so she can blend into her surroundings, like a chameleon.
Finally due to her past she has learned to absorb, whether she likes it or not, the power of the last magic that hit her and unleash it in a special breath form. An example, if she was recently being healed this special breath will mend cuts and bruises. If she was struck by an icebolt, her breath would come out as a cold blast of ice and frost. She has no control over it changing.
Special Weaknesses (If any): Looking like a dragon, it is very likely others will feel threatened by her presence. The lack of size and proper hands makes reaching up to tall things or using small and complicated objects far trickier.
Items they have: None. She used to have a small sapphire encrusted pendant she snatched up however she lost it some time ago.
Backstory (Optional): When she was very young, a mere 1 month old hatchling her cave in the side of a hill was discovered by a group of explorers searching around where she and her parents had been living. There were rumors that there was treasures about the place, and to a certain extent there was. Her father, a large grey dragon had gathered a small fortune to attract her mother, a just as large yellow one.
The treasure was still in the cave, so when the explorers came inside when both of her parents were out hunting they were overjoyed by the sight of the small pile of coins and shiny things. Until they heard Chisille growling from behind the rock her nest was located. Alarmed, they all drew whatever weapons they had. A bunch of daggers and a single shortsword.
As soon as they saw who it was who was growling they laughed, and asked each other if this was supposed to be a mighty beast. "Fetch the net. This one will sell for a pretty penny. Bind it's mouth shut too." After realizing she was completely outnumbered she stopped growling and started quivering. All at once, a rope net was thrown over her, the group rushed at her and another rope was quickly tied around her mouth, wings and legs as she growled, squealed and struggled to get free.
She ended up being bought by some strange man, brought to an odd feeling home, then put into a large metal cage. Her 'owner' was kind enough to her at least, she even warmed up to him over several months of cowering away from him every time he got close to the cage to feed her or give her something else. Every now and then her food would taste sort of funny, and as she grew up she figured out why.
This man had been experimenting with things and mixing it into her food to see if she would have a reaction to it. She found out because at one point she realized she could understand him talking. At first it baffled her that she knew what he was saying, but then it shocked her more when she realized he was telling someone else about his experiments on her, blending magic solutions into her dinner. This must be the reason she can suddenly understand him! She thought.
The other person left soon afterwards and so it was back to the usual for a few days, except she purposely refused any of the weird smelling food. One night as she lay down on her straw mat that was given a fireproof spell (and most things near the cage had received the same treatment) she heard a movement nearby. It couldnt've been her owner, as she could hear him quietly sleeping in his room.
The figure got closer in the darkness and she backed against the wall furthest away from them. Then they spoke to her in a calm voice. "Shh... I'm getting you out of here." They drew out a small key that her owner used to open the door. "Please help me!" she said quietly. This startled both her rescuer and herself. Since when could she actually talk? She never had a reason to try before. Ever since she found out what she was being subjected to she stopped being friendly to her owner and didn't want to say anything at all to him.
The cage door clicked open and her rescuer stood aside and she timidly climbed out of her cage. "You're free to do what you want now." they said. "OH NO SHE'S NOT!" came a loud and angry voice. It was her owner, who quickly struck her rescuer with a bolt of lightning with a wave of their hand. Another bolt later and Chisille was also struck, the lightning painfully surging through her body.
She wasn't down yet though, and in a fit of desperate action she went to breathe fire at him, feeling a little weird as she did it. From many attempts before she knew it wasn't going to work. Her owner had fireproofed his clothes. However it wasn't fire that came out, but a sharp crack of electricity which stunned him long enough that he couldn't retaliate!
"Come on, we got to go!" Chisille said to her rescuer, but by then they were already knocked out from the force of the lightning. She couldn't help them, so she did the only thing she could. She ran over to the front door, quickly stood up on her hind legs, with a bit of trouble, and pushed the handle in the way she saw her ex-owner do many times before. As soon as it was open she was out of there.
She ran and ran and she never looked back. Eventually she snuck into the town by gliding down from a tall tree and blending into the surroundings with her chameleon ability, having figured she had this ability when she was attacked long beforehand.
Appearance: Annie is a 12 year old girl. She is a little over 5 feet tall. She has short un-kept Auburn hair, and a few freckles on her cheeks and nose, which can be only just seen beneath the dirt on her face. She is dressed in torn black stockings. Dirty knee length, pale blue skirt and a stained white blouse... though her low healed shoes are white and polished to a shine.
Abilities: Is only 12 years old. Her abilities are still underdeveloped and mostly unknown.
Items they have: Little Annie carries a four inch blade dagger, and a few other small items she can shove in the pocket of her skirt. She also carries a silver necklace, usually tangled around her left hand and fingers. The necklace has a locket that holds a picture of her dead mother.
More: Little Annie Feme doesn't say much and only speaks when she needs to. She has learnt to fend for herself since her mothers death. But it will be Little Annie Feme's birthday soon, and it was told by her mother that special things will happen when she turns thirteen...
The Inn's creature makes the sound of a Toaster popping.
Abilities: Through a combination of training and magic-based enhancements, Jack's strength and endurance significantly exceeds that of a normal human. His speed is increased as well, though less so compared to his other physical capabilities, and is usually rendered moot by the weight of his gear.
He is highly skilled in the use of his crossbow and his sword and shield, and competent with other standard weaponry should the occasion demand it.
Special Weaknesses: Jack is susceptible to cold, rendering him weak to ice-based magic and attacks. In addition, due to the nature of his strength it can be dampened by anti-magic.
Items they have: Jack's two personal weapons are Thunderbolt, an enchanted crossbow that can imbue the bolts fired from it with elemental lightning, and Magebuster, a longsword with runes etched upon the flat of the blade that, upon striking an enemy that can either use magic or is magical in nature, "burns" away a portion of their magic energy.
Due to Thunderbolt's size, it can only be used by Jack when he is at full strength.
Jack's shield is a fairly standard heater shield, and his armor is roughly equivalent to that which would be worn by a military bowman or crossbowman.
Backstory: Depending on who's asked, Jack's history could be one of many conflicting stories, though all contain the same basic premise; as a child he aspired to be a soldier, but as he grew older found himself more inclined to his current profession as a mercenary, and he obtained his two prized weapons- Thunderbolt and Magebuster- sometime prior to his career. What is clear is that whatever history Jack has prior to beginning his work as a blade for hire, he's not inclined to reveal it.
More commonly known as Jack the Red Man, Jonathan Redmann - which is as likely to be his real name as the stories he tells are likely to be his true past - has found a great deal of success in his line of work within the eastern regions, primarily dealing in bounties consisting of clearing out bandit holds or camps and hunting down rogue mages. When not on a bounty or personal hunt, he generally can be found in an inn or tavern, drinking and eating and, occasionally, fighting.
Recently, during one of his regular visits to his establishment of choice, he overheard a group of merchants discussing the rumors of the Waise Quarantine. He had heard rumors and stories about the region before that had caught his interest, but the notion of a quarantine had peaked it; the government was trying to keep something contained within that region, and he wanted to know what it was. Shortly after, he set out for Waise, managing to sneak into the region and making his way to the first inn he could find.

Name:
Boris. AKA, The Bonecrusher.
Species:
human, as far as I can tell.
Appearance:
Around seven foot tall, strong and stocky, bald, no facial hair either, and is in his mid to late twenties. Actually, Boris has sparkling blue eyes and a round baby face with cheeks that bulge wide when he smiles. He is dressed in a plain grey shirt and pants with sandal style shoes.
Abilities:
Well, he is big, strong, and has powerful jaws.
Items they have:
A special key. Whatever else he can find.
Backstory:
Boris the Bonecrusher is an Escaped Convict. He was incarcerated for many murders and robberies, such as stealing bread, milk, other daily requirements, and then killing the folks he stole them from. Boris, on account of the many people he killed, was considered a serial killer, and was also renowned for his curious MO (method of operation); he would eat parts of his victim, which always including their right hand. The fact that he used his powerful jaws to crush and eat some of their bones was where got him the nickname, The Bonecrusher. Otherwise, Boris has a sweet side, and is mostly harmless.
Spreading out her wings, she took one great leap off the tallest tree she could find. She just hoped she would last long enough to get past any watching eyes. Hopefully they didn't carry long ranged weaponry. Hopefully.
Chisille glided over towards the town she had spotted. It wasn't easy surviving out in the wilderness for her. She was already starving even after eating whatever things she could find. The locals wouldn't miss a loaf of bread, or a delicious piece of meat. She almost drooled as she thought about that.
However being distracted by your stomach and gliding towards buildings are not a good mix. Before she could change direction she ended up crashing straight into the roof of a large building. She didn't know it was an Inn, and she didn't care. She just hoped and hoped that none of the humans below would hear her little accident.

A man dressed in standard peasant's clothing, complete with gloves, boots, and a black potato sack on his head, (with eyeholes cut out of course) walks towards the border wall dragging behind an gigantic chest on wheels behind him, the man is completely covered by his clothes and is making his way towards the border wall, seeing as their is guards along the wall he stops, and sighs, before opening the chest and pulling out and old shovel out of it.
He is relatively far away from the guards, and begins digging, he makes the hole big enough for his chest to fit through and soon enough he has finished the entrance, he keeps digging and slowly pulls the chest down with him, he begins to slowly tunnel his way towards the town, soon enough he is past the border and is on the other side of the entrance to the town.
He finally starts to dig upwards and surfaces, he takes a look around to see where he ended up.
Emma leaves the treeline, she had no idea where she was going. She had no time to lose anyways. She had brown boots on, and had a sort of grey shirt with a purple stripe across it. She kept walking and after a while saw a dragon crash into a building, and decided to cautiously approach it.

Apparently this is what some of my friends think of me here:
Little Annie Feme waits quietly beneath a house near the center of town. She had been hiding there since the evacuation began, and since she was a street kid, she didn't need to worry about anyone making any sort of special effort to find her.
Flashback: as she waits, Annie remembers her sick mother, and how all the magic and physicians throughout the town and even the countryside could not make her well again. Annie is sitting on a wooden chair beside her mothers death bed, holding her hand. Her mother wakes up, barely able to breathe any longer, and speaks to Annie in a weakened voice,
"O... Annie, my good and lovely Annie... my time... it draws closer each day, my child...." she then pulls away from Annies grip, and produces a locket and chain in her hand. "take this... hold it in your left hand... and stay by my side until I take my final breath...."
Annie does not speak, she only listens and takes the chain, gripping it tightly while a tear rolls down her freckled cheek.
"...Do not worry, my sweet one ....it will not be long now...."
Annie closes her eyes and tries hard to block out the rest of the memory, and for now it stops. But she also notices that the commotion out on the streets had also ended, so she pulls herself out form under the house and takes a look around. The streets are pretty much abandoned now.
With her necklace tangles about her left hand, and her finger in the thumb of her other hand, she cautiously makes her way down the street towards the Inn she knew so well. There, outside the Inn, was usually an elderly man who would give her a sweet and a penny each day, but he is not there now, he must have been evacuated with the others. There is however light coming from inside the Inn. Someone is inside, so she takes a small breath and pushes open the door.
Emma leaves the treeline, she had no idea where she was going. She had no time to lose anyways. She had brown boots on, and had a sort of grey shirt with a purple stripe across it. She kept walking and after a while saw a dragon crash into a building, and decided to cautiously approach it.
Righting herself on the roof, she realizes there is no point in hoping that the sound isn't investigated. It was loud. Everyone around the place would've heard it. She looks around, searching for a place that she could hide. An open wooden crate not too far away from where she landed is her first place she spots. There is no time to waste, need to hide! She thinks to herself as she glides over to the box, falling straight into it. "Concentrate... pretend you're something else..." she mutters quietly to herself as her scales begin to change colour to match the contents of the crate.

With a dull thud Chisille lands on the wooden roof of a building. The wood creakes because of her weight and impact, but fortunately it doesn't collapse.

After digging up, the man finds himself in an Alleyway. Before he can do a lot, he hears a dull thud coming from the roof of the building he surfaced next to. The building is a two-storey stone building with a timber frame.

As Annie opens the door she finds herself in the large main room of the Inn, a few people are talking to eachother or eating food on the well-made furniture, and the Inn's hearth was lit. On the other side of the room is a staircase that probably leads to the second floor

The building the dragon crashed onto appears to be an Inn, a two-storey stone building with a timber frame named the 'Golden Penguin' was one of very few buildings nearby that didn't look completely abandoned. The streets were empty as the low temperatures for this time of year and the wind made it quite cold outside, so people would probably have taken shelter in houses where it would be warmer.
She reaches in, to see if anything is under the 'straw'.
As much as Chisille would like to feel like straw right now, she just doesn't. Emma can feel something soft and smooth, but otherwise still unmoving. Chisille is finding holding her breath to be more and more difficult.

Name: Chisille
Species: Dragon

Meet Ashen the shoulder dragon!
Meet Little Annie Feme. She is... human.

Name: Jonathan "Jack" Redmann
Species: Human
Appearance:
Accepted, though Telekinesis is limited to only work on inanimate objects that aren't fast-moving (like projectiles and such) and can only be used if the targeted object is within sight and no further than 25 feet away

Emma leaves the treeline, she had no idea where she was going. She had no time to lose anyways. She had brown boots on, and had a sort of grey shirt with a purple stripe across it. She kept walking and after a while saw a dragon crash into a building, and decided to cautiously approach it.

Someone is inside, so she takes a small breath and pushes open the door.
.............................................................................

Despite the dragon going into the box and changing her color, Emma still saw this dragon move into the box. She went over to this box and opened it up.

[NINJA'D. Ignore this]
Emma sees what looks like a pile of straw at the bottom of the crate. Chisille makes sure to be perfectly still, even stopping her breathing temporarily because she heard her approach where she was hiding. Please go away. I'm not interesting. Just straw... She thinks to herself.

The Inn is a two-storey building.
As much as Chisille would like to feel like straw right now, she just doesn't. Emma can feel something soft and smooth, but otherwise still unmoving. Chisille is finding holding her breath to be more and more difficult.
