Silver tucked away the orb and glanced at the other adventurers. "I was simply checking to make sure the light was only light, and not some elaborate trap. It doesn't seem to be highly magical, only intended as a source of illumination." He shrugged a bit.
Pearce was already starting to inspect the alter, runes and bumps and slots. Silver slid up next to the fox-man. "Anything look interesting? This seems rather important, but it sure was put in a strange place if it was meant to be used." Silver gazed over the runes, reluctant to touch, but absorbing as much as he could. Important things. That's what he was here to learn about.

Moving again towards the altar, Gilor replied, "Nah, I doubt it's for illumination. Otherwise, there wouldn't be the sconces; we'd probably see more beams of light like these in the other rooms. Just decorative, I think." Gilor paused, looking glancing at Caerwyn struggling to light her lantern. "I'd be a bit more judicious with your 'checking'. Losing all light like that in a room without a convenient shining shrine could be very bad."
Silver took to examining the shrine with a great interest, asking the beastfolk Pearce if he knew its function. Pearce seemed a bit confused from the sudden darkness, but was looking directly at a hexagonal indentation in the shrine. Gilor recalled seeing it before, but hadn't thought much of it. But, why else would Pearce take an interest in it? Maybe it was a slot for something...?
Gilor crept closer and examined the indentation more thoroughly. It was caked with dust; Gilor scratched off the dust as gently as he could, revealing the indentation to be quite shallow.
He gestured at the indentation while turning to Pearce and Silver. "Hmm. D'you guys think this might be a slot for something? I think we ought to comb the rest of this place for whatever might belong in there. At least we might find out some more about this shrine, or maybe the purpose of this place. Doesn't seem like a catacomb to me, not enough dead. Or sewers... even if it does smell off down here."
"Although the shrine's purpose eludes me" Pearce said, "I am certain that this indentation has some meaning. Perhaps it is a slot for something. Either way, I don't think we'll find out much more about it here"
It had been Silver who had drained the room of light and he claimed that he had done so to check if the light emanating from the shrine was magical or not. While Pearce would have appreciated some warning, he did understand that he had done that in an effort to further investigate what they had found. Perhaps that spell that Silver cast would be useful in the future, it could be used to escape danger if one could find their way through the darkness.
Caerwyn had moved back to the mural room to look around, perhaps she would find something important on the walls there. Gilante had mentioned that they could possibly find whatever might slot into the shrine. Assuming that the indentation was a slot for something, what could it be? What purpose could it serve?
Pearce carefully reached out and touched the shrine, leaving a trail through the dust that caked its surface. It was odd to find a shrine buried beneath a city, what were these tunnels? What were they used for? Was the leviathan trying to get something from here? These were the questions that filled Pearce's brain. His ears twitched as he thought. A moment passed before he moved to the passageway between the shrine room and the mural room so that Caerwyn could hear him better as he talked to the group.
"It appears that we mostly agree that we should continue searching this place" Pearce said, "Let's go."
A bit embarrassed at forgetting that the others couldn't exactly see in the dark, Silver listened as the others decided what to do. Searching the rest of the place sounded like a fabulous idea, so he nodded along. "Sounds about right. Though it would probably be useful if we started searching." He smiled a little.
Stepping off into the darkness, he walked off to find another archway, find another room. Maybe they could learn something new, find some treasure, if they just kept exploring.
Cautiously, he stepped into the next room over, shrouded in darkness, and found himself looking at-

Seems like the others were in agreement; onwards, then.
Silver was already walking through the other doorway in the entrance room; Gilor drew closer and held the sunrod aloft, illuminating a corridor running parallel to the entrance room. Both ends were shrouded in darkness. Gilor didn't suspect that the direction he chose would matter too much, so he picked the right path. That was... west, right? Eh. It won't matter.
Quickly, Gilor discovers a tiny, hexagonal chamber, more like a bulge in the corridor than an actual room; a vile stench hung like fog in the air here, and the squeals and skittering in the faint light revealed that this room was home to a hive of rats. Can't possibly be healthy to stay in here too long. Miasma'll sicken me in no time.
The walls were terribly cracked and seemed to display more murals, difficult to examine due to disrepair and limited light. Gilor was about to press further down the corridor, but his eyes were drawn to serpentine drawings on the walls. Leviathans. Four of them. Black... just like the one they had just seen. It looked like they were being summoned by some magician, and were depicted in battle against all manner of strange creatures (and humans). And they were winning.
Gilor shuddered, forgetting the odor for a moment, and gestured back towards the party. "Hey, hey, look at this. It's another mural, but it's depicting leviathans just like the one we just saw. Four just like the one we saw. They're being summoned by some wizard--looks like they're on a rampage."
Looks like the mural continued down the hall, too. Seems like it was depicting some sort of prophecy, perhaps? At least, whatever was on the mural seemed like it would be reliable. Otherwise, the leviathan wouldn't have been digging for this place. Perhaps whatever the rest of the mural has on it could be of use to the party... or would at least let Gilor know if this was a fool's errand.

Etorias Ahmes
A presence of other adventurers can be felt by the young paladin, since his righteous sense is passively on effect the young knight had already confirmed whether the others had came here out of ill intention or not. Etorias let out a slight smile and walk off into the dark with his gantlet lighting his way. After walking a short distance, the corridor split both ways and share the darkness equally, having no talent in his sense on direction whatsoever so Etorias randomly pick his path within a matter of seconds and venture towards the west corridor room. Dust and rats can be seen along the way, it is a good proof of how unclean this place is along with the unpleasant smell it offer.
Pearce walked out of the shrine room, passing through the entrance room and down the hallway where he had not yet explored. If they were going to find out any of the mysteries surrounding this place, they had to continue searching. They had found the shrine, yet its purpose still eluded Pearce. He was convinced that there were still more mysteries in the tunnels, just waiting for them to find them.
Pearce could hear the rats before he even arrived in the small, hexagonal room. He had momentarily wondered if it was actually possible for creatures to live in the tunnels below Blarkenvurk. What food would the rats find down here? Pearce did not know, and wasn't entirely sure that he wanted to know. Either way, their squeaking and the sounds of them scurrying across the floor told him that they did live down here.
There were more murals here, Pearce examined them as he walked past. Some of them were like the ones in the previous room, interesting as a record of forgotten history but not so useful for their cause. That was until Gilante found something.
Pearce approached the mural that his ally was examining. It depicted not one, but four leviathans as Gilante said it did. The idea that there were four creatures able to reduce a city to ash and dust flying about chilled Pearce to his very core. Pearce looked at the mural that was illuminated by his ally's sunrod for quite some time. He hoped that some hint on how to stop the beast was hiding within the ancient art.
"The thought that there are four such beasts" Pearce said, "is terrifying."
What else could be down here? There were the murals and a shrine, which possibly have been hidden for so long that the people and battles they depict that they have vanished from living memory. Pearce could hear faint footsteps fading into silence, perhaps another adventurer or maybe his mind was playing tricks on him.
The mural continued down the hall, telling some tale. Pearce looked at the mural from the hexagonal room, his eyes following it until the darkness made it too difficult to see. Maybe, just maybe, the mural could contain the vitally needed information on how to stop the leviathan before it destroyed more cities and lives.
"The mural seems to continue down the hall" Pearce said, "Perhaps it contains a way to stop these leviathans. Maybe the altar is connected somehow. Either way, we need to continue searching."
From the south of the hexagon room sprouts a long corridoor that leads down into a large and dark, empty room with six columns. The murals continue along the corridoor and wrap around the rooms walls. The columns depict snakes swirling up along their lengths and spreading out at the top to form a ceiling.
The murals along the corridors depict an arduous battle of epic proportions, the four leviathans are each shown shooting a beam from their heads, one of green, one of blue, one of black and one of red as the one that had been encountered on the surface. The corridoor mural was separated in the middle by an indented panel depicting the wizard raising his staff and the second half of the corridoor simply depicted a marching army of skeletons.
The murals in the pillar room are too far away and shrouded in darkness for anyone to read.
Caerwyn's words did help reduce Pearce's worries about the leviathans that could descend upon cities and destroy them just like the one above their heads. The idea that this mural contained the story of someone who stopped the leviathans before was now inside Pearce's brain. Perhaps this mural did contain a way to stop the creatures. Pearce followed the mural further down the wall.
There was a corridor leading out of the hexagonal room, and the story inscribed on the walls continued down the passage. Pearce examined each panel as best he could while moving closer to the entrance of the passageway. He looked back to his allies, knowing that at least most of them had come down here to help stop the leviathans from destroying more buildings, more people's homes and more people's lives.
"The mural continues further down the hall" Pearce said, "Maybe we can discover some more secrets of this place."
The next room was much larger than the hexagonal one. There was stone columns lined up down the room, Pearce looked at the stone and wondered how long ago this complex was built. There were more murals here. It was also fairly dark, Pearce could see fairly well in the dark but the further the room went, the darker it became. It just faded into complete darkness, it would be impossible for Pearce to see anything from that part of the room without light.
He couldn't really make out much of what was depicted on the walls, he would need more light to see properly. Nevertheless, Pearce thought that there would be something of importance in this room. He moved closer to the passageway, closer to the part of the complex that was more known to him.
"I think there might be some more murals here" he said, some anticipation evident in his voice, "But I need more light in order to see what information this room contains."
Pearce tried to examine the murals which hid just beyond the reach of Caerwyn's lantern, but to his dismay they remained hidden by the darkness. There were other murals he could see or had already examined. The ones that depicted the leviathans were of particular interest, as one of their kin had recently reduced the city of Blarkenvurk to ash and dust. The image of the remains of the city above kept finding its way into Pearce's thoughts, reminding him of the reason why they had decided to explore the underground complex.
Pearce could see another mural in the circle of light given off by Caerwyn's lantern. This one depicted what looked like an army. He took a few steps closer, examining the mural. He quickly discovered that the army depicted within the mural were skeletal, and he had studied enough magical tomes to realise that they were undead. There was some kind of record happening in these murals, but what kind? Was it a story or historical documentation? Perhaps they were legends from long ago.
There was a panel between the army of skeletons and the leviathans that Pearce had not yet seen. He wanted to see that part of the mural, if only to know more of the narrative. As his ally raised her lantern, Pearce could see the unknown panel. It depicted a wizard, what connection was there to the other panels? Did the wizard have something to do with the leviathans? What about the skeletons?
"Maybe he is casting some kind of spell..." Pearce said, thinking aloud, "Is there a spell that could prevent another city from the same fate as Blarkenvurk? Perhaps... But what of the skeletons? What do you think?"
The last part was a question aimed at his allies, they might have some insights that he had missed. He lingered by the mural for a few moments longer, before looking down the corridor to the room with the pillars that was mostly hidden in the darkness. He took a few steps toward that room before glancing back at his allies.
"I think we should keep moving" he suggested, wondering what secrets the complex still hid from them.
The mural leviathans' jeweled beams stretched into the final room of the west wing, here sat two unmarked stone caskets. The rest of the room was plain looking with no wall decorations, only smooth stone surfaces. The east site of the room contains a large entryway with broken stairs, a collapsed in walls and the entire path is blocked by a large skull that bares a striking resemblance to the Leviathan's. In the corner of the room is a small crate which looks somewhat out of place.
Catacombs - Elgar
Elgar lit a torches and removed it from the wall, he was standing in a large octagonal room with little clue as to how he had ended up here.

Etorias Ahmes
Etorias keep on venturing through the catacomb passage as the sacred light that shines from his gauntlet cast away the shadow from the area. Etorias had hope that this place may contain something about the serpent earlier, since it target this area directly there may be some sort of connection between the two, however it is only dust and rats he had found so far. As he walk further into the dark, Etorias spot an entrance that leads to yet another room. Etorias could not sense any evil presence within the area though he do not intend to let his guard down for any possibilities. As the light reach further ahead a large skull of a serpent appear out of the darkness that kept it hidden till now, Etorias unsheathe his sword at once letting out a bright light that illuminate the rest of room in its wake. As he observe the massive skull it seems like his instinct got the best of him this time as the enemy is long dead before his arrival. Etorias approach the skull for better observation but still put up a safe distance in case of any surprises. Nothing is out of ordinary for this skull but it is a dead end for this path, in the corner of the room Etorias manage to spot a small crate which looks somewhat out of place as he activate 'Solaris' earlier, Etorias approach the crate trying to figure what exactly it is for.
Pearce, having finished looking over the mural depicting the wizard, noticed something about the mural depicting the leviathans. The beams emanating from the beasts stretched across the walls of the room and vanished down a corridor. Evidently, they pointed toward someplace. But where?
Pearce looked around the room once more before he began to move toward the passageway. Some ancient artist must have painted these designs, working away on the stone walls when they were still new. Who built this complex of tunnels under which the remains of the city of Blarkenvurk stood? Why did they build it? These questions remained in Pearce's conscious mind as he began to make his way to the next room.
Pearce spotted a light before he arrived in the room. Perhaps it was another shrine? Whatever it was, Pearce was glad to have some light to see by. Although he could see fairly well in the dark, he couldn't see anything in pitch black. Even though he could see, that didn't stop him from flinching a little when he found that there was someone else here. They looked familiar, Pearce could remember seeing a glimpse of them earlier. Their gauntlet shone, casting light around the room. Perhaps they could help on the quest to stop the leviathan? Pearce cautiously entered the room and spoke.
"Hello?" Pearce said politely, "My name is Pearce Allan. If I may ask, who are you?"
This was an interesting room, it was undecorated, unlike several of the other rooms Pearce had explored. There were two large objects in here, both made from stone. They appeared to be caskets, was this room a burial chamber then? Pearce approached one, he was curious but cautious. It was then that Pearce happened to glance at one of the walls, the one that held the corridor to the next room. He flinched, there was something blocking the passage. It was a large skull. What did it belong to? It almost resembled a leviathan.
"A leviathan?" Pearce said to himself uncertainly, looking at the skull as he did so.
The more Pearce thought about it, the more sure he became that, long ago, this skull belonged to a leviathan. It proved that the creatures were not immortal. Pearce looked to the unknown person in the room, wondering why they had come here and still cautious of them. He looked around the room some more before spotting what appeared to be a crate sitting in the corner. What was it doing here? It appeared to be out of place. What did it contain? Pearce added these questions to his mental list, knowing that he would investigate them later.
Silver tucked away the orb and glanced at the other adventurers. "I was simply checking to make sure the light was only light, and not some elaborate trap. It doesn't seem to be highly magical, only intended as a source of illumination." He shrugged a bit.
