Mountains of bones of creatures that may have never existed, classless rock imprisoning the bones, floating through and endless void in which physics simply refuse to remain coherent. A slight pulsing sensation tickles at the back of a head, a constant drone but no matter how many times you turn around or catch a glimpse of your reflection, there is nothing there.
Everything that never existed in one place. They call it nowhere. No person has ever escaped.
Between the dimensions takes place on a disarray of floating sky islands (more like rocks), among a ramshackle society young and small enough to count all its members in one role-call. With your NEbreather firmly attached to your face and assortment of make-shift technology hacked together from the remains of the various machines that brought people here, you are barely ready to take on the assortment of creatures that call this place their home. Maybe you will be able to find a way to return to your own.
Tech:
Weapon:
Ripple Pistol/Rifle:[1]
Some of the early attempts to leave this dimension led to the invention of the ripple, micro-scale tears in the fabric of this irreality that act very much like projectile weapons. An excellent source of protection where bullets are at such an almost non-existant supply. Like NEbreathers, these come in many shapes and sizes, are usually powered by the rays of the curve and are at times unreliable.
Ripple Cannon:[2]
A much larger implementation of ripple technology and when it fires, it roars.
Charged weapon:[1]
Rather than relying on the rays of the curve, these melee tools operate from energy produced by a glowing crystal known as chragenite. Upon striking the surface of the blade or head heats up, amplifying impact or slicing damage.
Bloodrun Blade:[2]
A rough chainsaw or buzzsaw made from monster parts, teeth for teeth, etc. It is powered by the combustion of monster blood, particularly that of the flame family hierarchy which can be used as a powerful substitute of crude oil. Monster Blood is prone to explosions and Bloodran weapons use this to their advantage, with exhausts often running along side the blade so that the flames can be funnelled towards whatever is being attacked.
Bloodrun Gun:[1]
(or BloodGun) Flamethrowers operating on the same principle as the aformentioned saws, they act as a steady stream of high intensity flame with the occasional burst of explosion. Highly prone to backfire, users of this type of weapon have to be cautious, fireproof or insane.
MonsterPoison canisters:[N/A]
Powerful toxins in a quick release cylinder used to deal damage to large creatures. Unfortunately more often than not, the canisters are only effective if thrown into a creature's mouth. (These are obtained from a city armory when going on a mission to slow or deter a monster too big to defeat.
Body:
NEbreather:[0]
There is no air in this irreality, in order to breath in this negative world you must have some sort of help from a device. A NEbreather looks much like a gas mask, though it uses the physics of this realm in order to create a breathable environment for the user. NEbreathers come in many shapes and sizes and were likely one of the first things invented in the nowhere.
NElung:[2]
A more permanent solution to the NEbreather, this artificial lung usually replaces the right lung of the reciever. It allows for easier breathing in more situations as well as improved breathing underwater and in toxic environments.
Personal Shielding:[1]
A weak energy-based shield ran from a set of chragenite crystals, often having 3 or 5 charges. Those with 5 charges are unstable and will short out if faced with an electrical onslaught, but offer 2 extra charges to compensate. Those with 3 are protected from such attacks.
While it doesn't stop all damage, it takes away some of the sting from being knocked away or slammed into a hard surface. It also protects the user from fire based attacks for a limited period. (5 seconds per charge.)
This tech is adapted from rescue services tech of E2, it will stop modern bullets but does nothing against ripple.
To re add charges, the depleted crystals must be replaced with charged ones, depleted crystals can be charged in a curvestone charger later on. Each crystal takes about 5 seconds to completely replace, not an option during most combats.
Power Shielding:[2]
Physical armor based shielding that offers increased resistance in most situations. Power Shielding can protect the user from crushing power up to and including the jaw strength of a rank F monster. Power Shielding armor runs on Curve energy but if unused during the day, it can be charged and maintain power for the same amount of hours during a night shift. Power shielding armor is adapted from advanced exploration armor from E3.

Enemy:
NightCreeper: [Rank N]
Spiders as big as horses. One competent fighter can take down a swarm (approx 10-14) with relative ease. These are usually left to the 'night guard' a group of newer fighters still training to fight the more dangerous of creatures. While their bite contains a deadly poison, they can be taken out with relative ease from a distance with a ripple gun, and
since they do not have strong armor, old world weapons seem to work on them just as well.
Bat: [RANK N]
A creature the size of a house, it looks very much like the bats of earth except for its second set of teeth that line an inner area of its mouth. These creatures while not strong, live in swarms of upwards of 100, and will often hide on the underside of islands where they sleep during the day. It takes some careful recon to scout out whether an island is inhabited by a swarm. Any hunter could take on one of these, but they usually hunt in packs of 4. A pack of 4 is treated as a Class E creature.
Clawfisk: [RANK F]
Somewhere between a centipede and a fish, though with the width of a bus and the length of an olympic swimming pool. These creatures take about 4 skilled hunters to take down, with the loss of 1 - 2 lives on average being the norm for a undetected attack caused by one.
Dellphinx: [RANK E]
Something like an elephant-sized rabbit, with the muzzle of a dog and the teeth of a piranah, not exactly a pretty sight. While not very strong, these creatures are headstrong and will charge for anything that moves. If not kept out of a city these creatures can quickly chew up many inhabitants. Dellphinx' have no special armor and can be taken down with one well-aimed artillery shot, as such they are not often a problem for cities. Outside a city a Dellphinx will usually take about 4 skilled hunters to take down. These creatures are very energetic and will fight until the last breath.
World:
The Curve:
Light of the world is gifted by the distant swirl of a sun being consumed by a black hole.
Curve-Round:
When the Curve disappears over the horizon a wash of unnatural darkness covers the lands. While nocturnal creature activity rises during this time, the carcasses of their brethren fallen that day are usually a delicious enough distraction to cause them to leave the cities alone for the night while they pick the bones clean.
Earths:
There are three recorded Earths that inhabitants of nowhere seem to originate from, these are refered to as 'the earths' or 'the dimensions' depending on who you are talking to. While all seem similar, at some point in history they deviate from one another, causing drastically different outcomes.
In comparison to nowhere, the timelines of earth seem to run slightly differently, but all linearly. Every new human to appear in nowhere will never be from a point in time prior to someone else already in nowhere before said new arrival.
The term 'latest recorded date' refers to the latest year in which a new member to nowhere says they lived in prior to arrival. 'latest recorded dates' show that the three earth dimensions do not run parallel to one another, but their time is slightly offset.
E1: Freedom; an Earth very much like our own. The people of E1 are not subject to heavy rules restricting knowledge or access to technology, and are technically free to do as they please and face the relevant consequences. E1 humans of nowhere invented Ripple technology after gaining access to some tech from the other earths.
The latest recorded date of E1 is 8/2015.
E2: War; the humans of E2 are in a war, but not faction against faction, instead faction against itself. The world suffers from pollution and disease, E2 is the origin universe for the NElung (known under a much different name there) They are also the only universe to have purposefully (whether they knew it or not) sent humans to nowhere with cross-dimensional technology. However, there is one catch...
Sending people through the portal to wherever it goes is a punishment reserved for criminals.
The latest recorded date of E2 is 4/2012
E3: End; the humans of E3 were governed peacefully by an AI that controlled all aspects of government and defense, the world had minimal conflict, advanced medicine and was very advanced for its time. But in the late 90's word began to spread that soon the AI would corrupt and go rogue. While the engineers, scientists and AI itself tried to educate the people on the facts, paranoia and fear got the better of people. One of the earth's anti-invader missiles (anti-matter) was repurposed to attack the base of AI operations. This caused an unforseen error in the missile systems and all the missiles were launched. The safety measures kicked in but too were glitched by the changes and were shot randomly out into space, many of which hit the sun causing it to implode into a black hole and consume the solar system.
Oddly, but not voiding the linear-time rule of nowhere, all 'applicants' from E3 wake up in nowhere after the events of 1/1/2000. Regardless of when they wake up in nowhere.

You'll quickly learn that the term 'city' doesn't refer to the same thing as a city in our world. There are 3 'cities' I will use at the start of this RP, each with about 40-50 inhabitants.
Noh'rn wears armor crafted from the bones of creatures and metals found near to one of the three main cities. Earth of Origin:
E3 History:
Noh'rn lived a peaceful life in the End earth dimension, he ran a desk job for the global software corporation, which mostly involved filing requests. During 'the final meteor storm' he was cowering under his desk, moments later he woke up, unable to breathe, in an odd, dark place. He caught words or phrases being shouted by those present and remembers the cold feeling of some sort of metal tray beneath him. Later he woke up in what looked like a kitchen with a cold, though as he was vaccinated for the common cold years ago, Noh'rn thought he was dying and immediately panicked which was subject for some humor amongst the nowhere medical team.
Over five years Noh'rn slowly adjusted to life in nowhere, he honed his fighting skills and researched everything there was to know about the recorded ranks of monsters, eventually he wound up on nightcreeper duty (Fighting the Rank N nightcreepers, basically horse-sized spiders that often try to invade the city at night.) and eventually moved on to fighting big game creatures. Technology:
-A NEbreather.
-A Ripple Cannon made primarily from Monster parts.

Nocturne || 22 || Male
Earth of Origin:
E2
History:
Nocturne was once an orphan who got abandon by his parents and the society. He had lived a life with no meaning, while only attempt to do what is necessary to survive the cruel world. It was not long before a group of mercenary sees the potential within the young orphan and decided to take him with them. Nocturne's lesson in becoming a proper mercenary is tough however it is nothing in compare to what he had faced before. Nocturne then became a young successful mercenary who is widely known for his skills. However during one of his mission, Nocturne was captured by the officials due to his lack of experience in an unexpected tactics planned by his enemy and was imprison in a cell as a result. His appearance in nowhere is most likely the punishment he had received for his crime.

History:
(and yes I've told a bit about the tech and world. it was ambiguous how far advanced or how different.)
The Holographic Message Board suddenly changed from advertising a holiday at the ISS to showing panicked people outside the AI base of operations.
The date was 12/31/1999. And though now Selene wasn't proud of it. she had hacked into UN government systems to point an AIM at the base.
Why had a 18, nearly 19 year old done this? She believed it was the only way forward. destroy the AI. For good. Humans needed to govern themselves, like back in the 1800's
But it didnt work. Not really.
You see, She hadn't hacked one and just changed ones position. Either shed hacked one but others had hacked others, or shed hacked all by mistake.
And they all fired.
Obviously, UN government had made safety measures, but they glitched, firing off in all directions, some hitting the star Sol, which Earth orbited around.
seconds later the date became 1/1/2000. And to Selene the world seemed to slow down dramatically, and all movement seemed... odd.
The world seemed to fade, and Selene found herself reliving moments of her past.
And then she "woke up" gasping for a breath that didnt seem to come.
In her hand she held a gas mask. She hadn't been holding that when the weird thing happened. She put it on, and was able to breath.
To her it seemed obvious. She was still on Earth, And had passed out. The AIMD had caused a black hole, which could of caused Earth to break into floating islands and the remains of the sun to appear as a curve.

Accepted.
There's no way to gain tech points, it is merely a currency to limit starting tech.
There may be earths added in future, but at the moment, all inhabitants of nowhere are from E1 E2 or E3.
The cities are made from a mixture of people from all earths. Combining tech from each earth created things like NEbreather tech and skyboats.
