(Well if no one wants to go first I might as well go...)
The two, Rei and Vincent, firmly acquainted each other to the three of us. Explaining how Vincent was Rei's archenemy and whatnot.
"Figures... Oh well." Lahire said, before he suddenly turned static and transformed into a small, metallic sphere with glowing lights on it. Katarina gasped and grabbed the ball and cried out.
"No! Lahire! He was so young, and I just knew him!" Katarina continued her bawling before the same exact Lahire stood before her. She dropped the metallic sphere and tried to hide her embarrassment by blushing and chuckling. Lahire then whispered to Katarina.
"You owe me big time..." Katarina then widened her eyes, not in shock, but in confusion.
"But I-" Katarina was then cut off quickly by Lahire again.
"So, you're okay I assume? Luckily I'm a decently quick thinker... And by quick I mean pull out the biggest gun possible and start spamming...Though that wasn't anywhere near the worst..."
"Yeah I guess. So thanks!" Katarina said cheerfully.
As if anything else could get more unexpected, a large spear flew through the air, near Rei, and landed into a nearby tree. Two new characters approached the area.
"Are those more of your friends?" Katarina asked to either Vincent or Rei. They spoke of some kind of contract, how it was now null and void. Smoke and fire blasted out of the air from the harbour out of nowhere. By now these two weren't making the best first impression.
The handsome devil man looked at Katarina. He stepped towards her. "Well, aren't you the interesting one." He took her hand. "My name is Gideon Roserande. You may call me Gideon. I am a high ranking member of the Synystre Organization. I fight with both power and elegance. Perhaps you would like to join me on a romantic evening through the park-" Gideon was cut short by the flat end of the knight's big sword hitting him backwards.
The knight scoffed at Gideon. "Can it, Romeo. You know that this woman is obviously a heroic type."
Gideon stood up and began monologuing. "But you see, Kugshini, this woman is so elegant. So divine. So out of reach due to her heroic nature. It is the perfect love story. A handsome high ranking member of one of the best evil organizations want to become entwined with a low ranking heroine. Both love and lust for each other, but their blood and family tells them no. It is so majesti-" Again, Gideon is interrupted by Kugshini's blade and is sent flying.
Kugshini sighed. "I'm sorry, miss. He does this any time he sees a beautiful woman."
Lahire seemed a bit interested in the knight, though he quickly told everyone why. "We have a Nightmare from Soul Caliibur? Sweet. I don't think that's what Soul Edge looked like though...."
Apparently some man by the name of Gideon had taken a liking to Katarina already, which for some reason wasn't surprising. It wasn't long before he was smacked to the side by the Nightmare clone, which Lahire found funny. He let out a small laugh, then listened to Gideon's pointless monologuing.
"So you mean to tell me, that you three villains, are completely normal with certain things....? Like, I thought when someone mentioned villains they meant something along the lines of a complete and utter tyrant. I guess there's more to that? Oh, and Nightmare has a point here, I'm getting vibes from this one. She probably doesn't even have time for that... Oh, and if we're on the subject of forbidden love, I'm just going to say that is probably at the bottom of everyone's list... There are so many better types of love stories than that... This one's a bit overused."
Lahire wasn't very comfortable knowing that these people were supposedly villains, but acting so friendly. It was unnatural, possibly a trap. Sure, he could probably help out again, but he didn't really feel like bringing even more people here.

Gideon chuckled and put his arm around Lahire. "Oh, don't be silly. The world is full of villains. If you want serious and world ending, go find the Elites and their villains. We are the biggest in the state. Just here to collect rent. And maybe a date for this Thursday." He winked at Katarina. "But our leader and the higher ups, like the second in command, are the ones who will destroy and ransom for political leaders. So, back to that rent."
Vincent chuckled. "Yeah, I would like to end the contract and maybe find a new place uptown."
Kugshini smacked Vincent with his sword. He went flying into a tree.

The conversation ended with Vincent thinking of finding a new place, which Kugshini responded by smacking Vincent with his sword.
Vincent stood up from out of the tree. He was beaten up and looked like he had a broken arm. He flicked it and a bone crunching sound was heard. After a couple flicks, it was back to normal. Vincent chuckled. "I see we are being serious with this month's ren-" He was cut short by coughing up blood.
Kugshini slashed his sword down, creating a slashing wave that smacked Vincent a few meters away. "You know Lord Synystre doesn't like slackers. But you are less of a problem at the moment."
Kugshini turned to the new heroes. "So, you all must be Rei's new team. Wanna break them in, Gideon?"
Gideon flew up to Kugshini and created a blade of fire. "Let's do so."
"D-Date? Not saying that I'm against it... But that's besides the point." Lahire looked away slightly, avoiding people's gazes. He smiled slightly, but stopped before turned back. He expected her to agree with him, not mention jealousy...
"I-I don't get jealous... At least I don't think I am... I just don't know if this guy is trustworthy... Considering the circumstances... Not really..." Lahire wasn't too keen on having a villain, even a rent collecting minor, messing with his future teammate. He turned to the two men agai as they mentioned something about "Breaking them in."
"Man... Again? I nearly killed someones pet... Whatever it was, 5 seconds ago. I kid you not, This will hurt like Hell. I'd prefer you just leave, but if I must..." Lahire summoned 2 Holo-Drones from Halo 2, both wielding Beam Rifles. Lahire himself took on the form of Nephtis from Zone Of The Enders. (10 feet tall instead of massive XD)

"Last chance."
Gideon chuckled and became engulfed in flames. Stones began to fly towards him and a burst of smoke occurred. Out of the smoke was a large fiery golem. about ten feet in height. "I'll take on the robot and his drones. You get the others, Kugshini."
Gideon in his new form charged Lahire head on. Kugshini turned to the others. "Go on. Make the first move."
"Shame on you." Lahire dashed backwards at an extreme speed, leaving a turbulence behind him. (Yep, Nephtis is stupid fast m80.) He quickly launched 6 energy projectiles off of the wing like projections on his back. They probably wouldn't deal too much damage if they hit, but may cause a stun effect if he isn't well enough fortified. The Drones moved away from Gideon, not bothering to play fair, converged on Kugshini. Two shots were fired, with a decent chance of missing (Why missing instead of dodging? Because the BeR is hitscan, so missing is all he can do.) due to the Drones simply hip firing the Beam Rifles. If one managed to hit somewhere besides the head, it would deal massive damage, about 1/3 of his health. (Comparing to Brute) If both hit, you get the gist of it.

Gideon was hit and smoke formed, but from out of the smoke emerged a perfectly unharmed Gideon. He seemed to flash step forward and appear in front of Lahire. He sent a speedy fist right at Lahire's stomach. If it hit, it would gently crack the robot but for sure send it flying into the sky a few meters.
Lahire's drones approached Kugshini. The shots were fired. Kugshini smiled and ripped his sword in half into two cleaver like greatswords. He slashed both down on the shots and slashed them into oblivion. He dashed at one drone and slashed with one cleaver at speeds equivalent to the shots. If he hit, the drone would be split in two and probably explode.
"How unfortunate. You haven't seen what I've been up against before have you... Teleporting is old news." Lahire sat there as a shield took the blow with only a crackling of electricity going across the front. "Not even good enough for the shield? C'mon, you've gotta know how to get around the shield to even scratch me. I'll tell you one thing, that wasn't enough."
The Drone was destroyed, but that didn't matter. The other one was fine, so it had a simple job. Stab Kugshini. Even if this one were destroyed, it'd only be worse for them both. The remaining Drone brandished it's energy sword, lunging at him.
Lahire had been notified of the destruction of one of his Drones and took to the skies at the same speed he had moved backwards earlier. Now a Vic Viper had been summoned in the place of the downed drone, transforming into it's jet mode and firing 4 missiles at Gideon. (I suggest looking him up too. Similar idea to Nephtis, but there are differences. Mainly health and speed.) If the missiles hit, they'd do possibly 1/4 of his total health. That's if all 4 missiles were to hit. Lahire launched more of the same projectile as earlier, not seeming to be worried. To him, it really didn't matter whether it hurt or not. All he had to do was irritate Gideon to no end.

Gideon takes the barrage of shots and emerges slightly cracked on his faceplate. Gideon charged Lahire throwing a massive flurry of blows all across Lahire's body.
Kugshini saw the drone approaching him. He smiled and slammed his greatsword back into one. He began to single hand it like a rapier and parry all of the drone's lunges and slashes.
Lahire seemed to be a little embarrassed after Katarina questioned him. But he quickly dismissed the topic by targeting the two newcomers, telling them to leave or else. He then tried to intimidate them by summoning weapons and drones from a game Katarina was hardly familiar by. Katarina took a step back, this wouldn't end pretty. She then watched as Gideon blew up in smoke, with stones and rocks hurtling toward him and disappearing in the thick cloud of ash. Once the smoke thinned out, a giant fiery being stood before us, and challenged Lahire.
Gideon and Lahire went all out each other, and Kugshini joined shortly after by ripping his sword into two cleaver-like weapons. Bullets and punches flew, and people were also, literally, flying. Katarina wasn't even the smallest bit interested in joining, only very very disappointed.
"Oh come on Lahire! It's not like it's any of our business! It's was that nerd with his weird pet and that handsome guy in armour!" Katarina tried to remember their names, even though they were just introduced to them about 10 minutes ago. "Are you guys really gonna fight over rent? Lahire I'm starting to think you're just doing this to show off!" She then ended her yelling by muttering "Boys" under her breath.

Vincent walked up to Katarina. "He is quite the show off. But now it's less about rent and more about principles. They are a part of the Synystre Organization stationed in Des Moines. They run all crime in Iowa. They make sure that all of us bad guys have a home and pay our rent to fund themselves. Even one person not paying rent can set them back a month on plans. Plus, it saved me money to work on my pet and other creations. But now that my lab is destroyed -thank you Rei-" He looked back at Rei with sarcastic scorn. "-I have to recreate my works and find a new place."
Rei sighed. He looked at Katarina. "Anyways, why aren't you joining in? Aren't you a hero too?"
If it wasn't obvious, the heavy commotion going on was sure to attract some kind of attention. Whether it be fellow heroes and villains, authorities intent on keeping civilians at a good distance or even just nearby pedestrians curious as to what kind of fight was happening this time. It seemed as though Iowa, Dubuque in particular, had been getting a lot more action as of late. To say the least it was running the police, paramedics and firefighters ragged. Over at the burning docks they were already gathered en-masse to try and contain the blaze, doing everything at their disposal to keep it from spreading to other buildings or, heaven forbid, other districts of town.
Perhaps distantly civilians watched from vantage points and places they considered safe, such as high-rise apartment buildings. The park was on rather flat ground, after all, so it could be seen for quite some distance, even if things couldn't necessarily be made out from that far away. The clashing warriors were quite the eyeful though, each flash of light, fire or explosion another thing for the civilians to see.
Walking calmly out from the trees some way behind them a man approached Vincent, Rei and Katarina, making no attempt to sneak or otherwise conceal his presence. Were they to turn and see him, chances were they'd be pleased to see he didn't look like any kind of superpowered freak about to muscle in on things. He appeared to be around Katarina's age, perhaps a year or two older at most, with dirty blonde hair, grey eyes and a standard set of jeans, polo shirt and sneakers. He had no weapons in sight, and had his hands dangling by his sides, one tucked into his pocket. He seemed to be looking between the three current non-combatants and the fighting, a little bizarrely not seeming concerned at the close proximity. Maybe there was more to him than his appearance suggested.
"...Just what is it going on now?" He asked the three of them, his tone noticeably level. Not annoyed, just... Neutral. "What's this fight about? More 'hero versus villain' showdown crap?"
Rei barely looked back and acknowledged the man. "Vincent forgot to pay his rent. That guy, Lahire, is fighting the two to show off for this girl. I'm Rei."
Vincent approached Katarina, explaining about some sort of company known as the Synystre Organization, about how they run all the crime, and set up homes for villains to live in, and how important the rent was to the organization. Vincent then went on about how he was able to save enough money to build his own creations, like the giant wolf pet.
"Anyways, why aren't you joining in? Aren't you a hero too?" Rei asked Katarina.
"Hm? No way, I worked in the army because of my powers-." Katarina took a moment to process what she just said, and put her finger toward her chin. "Wait isn't that considered hero work? Oh well..." She then looked back toward the fight between Lahire, Gideon and Kugshini. "I see no reason to join, after all, Lahire is being a show off and Gideon is just a man doing his job... A gentleman doing his job." Thoughts about Gideon and his compliments to Katarina filled her mind, and she blushed again with a big smile on her face. Behind Katarina, she could hear footsteps approaching the group that were spectating the battle. It...was just an ordinary man, to Katarina's disappointment that is.
"...Just what is it going on now?" The man asked, he didn't seem annoyed when asking the question, just curious, with a very normal expression. "What's this fight about? More 'hero versus villain' showdown crap?"
"Not really, it's an acquaintance of mine settling differences between two other acquaintances of mine."
She then approached the man, and put her arm around his shoulder and pointed toward the three characters battling.
"Now you see that kid with silver hair and a drone? That's Lahire. He hates rent and has a crush on me. Now if you look at the giant fiery beast, that's Gideon, he also has a crush on me. Then if you look over to that guy in armour and with two cleavers, that's Kugshini. He, unfortunately, does not have a crush on me and probably does not like me. Welcome to our big, happy, family!" Katarina welcomed the stranger, she had a feeling this man is going to be here for a while.
EDIT: Tsk, ninja'd by Entei. I'll just leave this post here because I'm too lazy to edit it-
Upon hearing Katarina mention something about showing off, he just had to respond.
"I'm not trying to show off, they were going to attack anyway! Besides, if I were showing off we wouldn't be on Earth either! There are many places besides this one y'know!" Lahire's speech would occasionally come from a different angle than where he was, due to how sound and speed work.
Gideon apparently learned nothing from his previous attempt at trying to break the shield. It was such a simple task, and yet they couldn't grasp the concept. The blows caused the shield to continuously flare up in the areas hit, and eventually Lahire sighed. "Gideon... Come on man... I know you have a ton of strength, but you need a brain too. Tell me you've got a brain up there." The Vic Viper went back to it's mech form and flew towards Gideon attempting to grab him from behind.

She probably doesn't even have time for that... Oh, and if we're on the subject of forbidden love, I'm just going to say that is probably at the bottom of everyone's list... There are so many better types of love stories than that... This one's a bit overused."
"Oh come now Lahire! If you really wanted to date me, you could have at least asked. No need to be jealous!" Katarina responded. All this infatuation was making her so excited
"Oh, don't be silly. The world is full of villains. If you want serious and world ending, go find the Elites and their villains. We are the biggest in the state. Just here to collect rent." Gideon responded to Lahire's questions. "And maybe a date for this Thursday." He winked at Katarina. She smiled again and blushed even deeper. "But our leader and the higher ups, like the second in command, are the ones who will destroy and ransom for political leaders. So, back to that rent."

Half full? Half empty? Something else altogether? You decide.

Half full? Half empty? Something else altogether? You decide.

Half full? Half empty? Something else altogether? You decide.
