Jakob grins, and disintegrates into sparks. They warp around James and reform behind him, practically mocking his previous maneuver. He then kicks James in the back of the leg, right at the joint, making him drop to the ground. He delivers a final blow to the back of his head, sending him tumbling forwards. Black spots swim in front of James' eyes as his opponent circles around him.
"Not bad, but you're certainly no match for me." He says, kicking the knife out of his reach. He picks up his sword, and places it on the back of James' neck.
"And now, for the execution."
He raises it into the air...
...and places it into a sheath on his back.
"Under normal circumstances I'd kill you, but it seems like Solortus recognized you. And considering my...our current predicament, I think you'll be of some use to me." He holds out a hand to help James up.
It seems anymore all I can think is what the hell?
The man holds out his hand and I stare at it, still adrenalized. Why am I not dead?
Now, I know today I have on many occasions told myself I had nothing better to do, so I might as well. But wouldn't just about anything make more sense then working with the guy who just tried to kill you?
But again, I didn't have anything better to do. What the hell.
I took his hand and he pulled me up. I brushed myself off, and then asked "What is our predicament?"
Nate decided to interrupt his new acquaintances' little making up moment. "Mhm, I suppose you were right, um, what was your name again? Nevermind that. I was hoping either you'd take the bluff or he'd put up enough of a fight to convince you I was right. Oh well." Nate looked at James, a little dissapointed. "I'd say we have a predicament too, Sparks, so is us helping you out going to be mutually beneficial, or are we going to have to turn you down? Well, I suppose a better phrasing would be, am I going to have to turn you down? That is, unless I'm not even one of this Solortus fellow's super important chosen recognised ones, or whatever you'd like to call them." Nate smiled, as he does when toying with the people he is speaking to, and continued. "Regardless, I'd sooner you explained yourself, your right to even touch a single one of us and why we should even help you. Sound fair?"

Jakob shrugs. "I'm not sure. I've been here a day, and I haven't found anything that helped me figure things out." He says, checking the blade of Solortus for any imperfections. "But now that I have some of extra eyes, it shouldn't be a problem."
Jakob looks at Nate. "If you don't help me...well...I can leave your heads here in the crater, if you prefer." He smiles pleasantly.
"Mhm, so Solortus is the sword? How cute, you named it. So, know I'm curious as to how you came about it and how you have now decided that it's yours. There could be a hundred people running around here turning into sparks out to kill you, I don't know." At this point Nate was just toying with the man a little, but there was some genuine curiosity. "You're also pretty arrogant, and I'll like to see you try to get close enough to take of my head, let alone where you want to put it as a memento. I've developed some skills of my own since I've gotten here." Nate paused for a moment and realised how much he'd been talking. This man annoyed him, but it was in a good sort of way, he supposed. He liked a good debate. Or argument. Or fight, now that he thought about it. A new sensation, it seemed, a willingness to fight. "But do you know what? I'll play your game. Give me the rundown right here and if you don't satisfy me I'll turn away and you can get your chance to leave my head where we found your sword." Nate smiled cruely.
"If you can."

Jakob rolls his eyes. "I'm not gonna tell you the secrets of the universe because you have some tricks up your sleeve." He says. "You're honestly telling me you're not curious about what's going on? If you wander off on your own, you'll get killed in a couple minutes from what I've seen lurking around here. So, and you going to keep whining like a child, or are you going to help?"
Nate smirked once more. "I'm very curious. So very, very curious. Unfortunately for you, Sparks, I'm not very, very, very curious. Not quite curious enough to let you explain on the way. No, I'm not asking for the secrets of the universe, don't stretch the truth or you'll sound like the only child here. I'm asking for you to share whatever it is you're claiming you will share. That's all. I'm asking for the cheese without running into the mouse trap. That's not childish, its logical." Nate sighed once more. This one was stubborn, and he likely wouldn't comply with Nate's requests either way. He might simply have to go with it and struggle his way out of the mouse trap, if there ends up being one, which, judging by the man's nature, seemed entirely possible. Nate would hold out a little longer, seeing what he could get.

Nate looked to the sky warily, and then faced the man again. "Let me reinterpret what you're saying..." Nate thought for a moment, looking into the man's eyes. "You want us to help you figure out what's going on. You hardly know a thing... Probably more than you're letting on, but at the same time..." Nate seemed a little unsure, which was unusual for him, but quickly snapped out of it. "Fine, I'll play your game." Everybody else probably thought Nate was a little crazy. All of that argument for nothing, just to give in. Nate smiled at the thought. This man was hardly stupid, and Nate could almost guarantee that this man had more knowledge than he was telling the group. The sword, 'shadows', it didn't exactly form a cohesive story. Nate would have to wait for the parts in between. So he would go along with this man. He would play this game, and he would win it.

Jack stared in disbelief at the fiery man. Helping James?? Are we gonna have a four person party or something??
