Decades after the defeat of Oroboros, the Heros of Light died of old age. Some of the asterisk bearers as well, after a while. The asterisks were passed on to successors. All was at peace for a long time.
But then, out of nowhere, a war began between the asterisk bearers. Nobody had any clear power, as they had broken into factions of three to four. The sage Yulyauna, despite many pleadings and bribes from the factions, did not participate.
When the dust settled, some asterisks had been destroyed by unknown means, and many bearers had died. The sage kept safe the few that remained, while re-creating some from memory. However, his memory was not enough, and he could not recreate all the asterisks, and some of the ones he did recreate were different. So, he created new ones to compensate.
Here is your call to a adventure. Recently, a great treasure has been discovered in some woods somewhere but the only man who ever returned from it was driven mad by its power. Many have attempted to retrieve it, all of which have failed. However, no asterisk bearer has attempted yet. You and your group will be the first asterisk bearers to attempt to retrieve it. Preparations are almost complete. You have known each other a few days at most, and came upon each other sharing an affinity with the treasure. You leave at dawn in two days time.

Asterisks and powers:
Asterisks are small orange spheres that grant certain powers to whoever bear them. Each Asterisk has different style to them, and no two Asterisks are similar. Each Asterisk has a set of 14 abilities that can be unlocked by defeating enemies and obtaining job points. These are either passive/equipable, or active/useable. You can have only a certain amount of passive abilities at one time (your choice), though you have access to all of your active abilities at once. Once you hit a certain number of job points, you level up in your job, and gain a new ability. Each ability is pre-determined, though you must have at least 4 passive abilities in a job to unlock.
For instance, the Monk's passive ability P.Atk 10% Up you need to equip, and boosts your attack by 10%. However, Strong Strike is an active ability, and can be used during combat, and you must choose to use it. All active abilities will always be available to you, however, passive abilities you must equip, and take up a certain number of slots. The max number of passive ability slots is 5. Each Asterisk raises certain stats certain amounts, and some lower others. For instance, the Monk has higher HP and P.Atk, while the White Mage has better M.Def.
Active abilities are usually attacks. Examples include Strong Strike from the Monk Asterisk, Aero from the White Mage, or Stomp from the Knight. Some attacks use MP- or Magic Points. However, there are active abilities that dont do damage. For instance, the Monk's Invigorate, or the White Mage's Shell. These active abilities usually buff yourself or a friend, or debuff an opponent.
Passive abilities must be equipped. You have 5 passive ability slots, and the value of each passive ability equipped, once added, cannot exceed that number. The most slots a single passive ability can take up is 3. Examples include the Black Mage's Abate Fire, the White Mage's Angelic Ward, and the Monk's P.Atk 10% Up. Once equipped, the effect is ever-present. Abate Fire will reduce all fire damage taken by a small bit, and Angelic Ward has a chance to reduce damage by 50%, though takes up 3 slots. The effect lasts until you unequip that passive ability.
You unlock one new ability per level IN GENERAL. Some classes unlock a set of similar abilities at a certain level, for instance, the Black Mage getting Thundara, Fira, and Blizzara at the same level.
And lastly, very powerful humans (comparable to Asterisk bearers) without bearing an Asterisk are considered Freelancers.
Combat:
Combat is based around a Brave and Default system. Each player gains one battle point per turn. This allows you to make a single action. short movement doesn't count as an action, neither does speaking. An action can be using an active ability granted by your asterisk, attacking once with a weapon, moving a very long distance, distracting an enemy into attacking you, etc. If you want to make more than one action per round, you must Default. In order to Default, you must state that you are Defaulting. You then lose the ability to use your battle points on this round but gain it the next round along with the usual one point per round. You also gain a defense boost while Defaulting So, after one round of Defaulting, you have 2 battle points, after 2 rounds of Defaulting, you have 3 battle points, etc. To use multiple battle points in a round, you must Brave. This allows you to use a number of battle points up to the amount of times you Brave. So, 3 Braves use 3 battle points and allow you to make 3 actions. You can also spend Braves when you don't have battle points to spend. For example, if you had 1 battle point and took 3 actions, you Brave 3 times and end up at -2 battle points. If you have negative battle points, you must skip the number of rounds equal to the number of negative battle points. So, at -2, you have to skip 2 rounds and are only permitted to take simple actions. You cannot Brave on a round with negative battle points.
Gender (Male/Female/Other): Allen is a human Male.
Appearance (Picture and/or description): https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/ce/82/fc/ce82fca3559e554bc3ad55b04ea751de.jpg
Allen is short, standing at 5' 10". He wields a dagger with a wickedly sharp and cuved blade. is coated in self inflicted scars, some fresher than others. He is very muscular and wears only enough clothing to protect his legs and the lower part of his torso. In layman's terms, he is shirtless. Despite this, he still wears a mask that both conceals his identiy and acts as protection against arrows and other projectiles. He wears armor along the top of his arms but the lower areas are left exposed as to allow easier acess to the arms. He wears heavy protection on his legs.
Personality (Make a description, not just a series of buzzfeed please): Allen, despite having a deep seated passion for all things living, loves to experiment on living things as well as himself. He uses his alchemy to change the world to his own, twisted view. Allen has been driven slightly mad from prolonged bloodloss.
Asterisk Proficiency: Daggers, it allows for quick and easy acess to the fleshy bits and allows for greater ease in letting one's blood.
Asterisk Abilities:
Alcemy: (Active) Sacrifice HP, MP, or an item to complete a task within reason. The amount of HP, MP, or the value of the item determine the effectiveness of the power.
HP Regen: (Passive 2 Slots) Regen HP at 5% per turn.
Offer Soul:(Active) Can use MP in place of HP for a power at half the cost.
MP Regen: (Passive 2 Slots) Regen MP at 5% per turn.
Equal Exchange: (Active 50 MP) Convert an item into an item of equal value and mass.
Topsy-Turvy: (Active 1 BP) Invert stats. -% becomes +% and vise versa. This lasts until the end of the battle or until it is shut off at the same cost.
Scavenger: (Passive 1 Slot) Items are easier to find.
Lead to Gold: (Active) Sacrifice HP in order to increase the amount of money found at the end of a fight. The amount of money equals 2*HP cost.
Help Me Out: (Passive 2 Slots) 50% chance to have an ally take a full hit of damage instead of me.
Expanded Exchange: (Active 100 MP) Convert multiple items into a single item of equal value and mass.
My Blood Instead: Sacrifice HP to heal an ally for 2* HP value.
My Blood for Yours: Sacrifice HP to deal equivalent damage to an enemy.
Let Me Try: Replicate an allied ability for +1 BP cost.
Take Me Instead: Sacrifice 80% of HP to ressurrect an ally.
Backstory (It doesn't have to be a masterpiece but it does have to be well writen. At least over 9000 sentences.): Allen was never the most mentally stable of people. From the day he could handle anything, he performed cruel experiments on the local plant and animal life. This got him in major trouble with his parents one day when he 'accidentally' burned down the family home whilst playing with oil. He was sent of to the local monestary and his parents rebilt their family home. There, he met 'Doc' who taught him to use his knack for experimentation to better humanity. He became a doctor who helped the sick saved lives. Despite this, he still had a maddening curiosity with the limits he could push the world around him to. Eventually, he ran away from the monastary and met a crazed alchemist on his travels named JoJo. He quickly befriended this alchemist due to shared interest and he was taught in the ways of alchemy. He then began hearing rumors about a strange treasure located somewhere in the nearby woods. He left the alchemist and took the asterisk that JoJo had aquired. Now, with a untamed asterisk in tow, Allen must find a group of people to help him find the treasure and also to perform his experiments on.
Equipment:
Hand: Razor sharp dagger, tempered in his own blood.
Off-Hand: Left empty for easier acess to items.
Hat: Hood placed over steel mask.
Torso: Plate armguards with no bottom.
Feet: Plate Boots
Accessories: Plate leggings.
Accessory #2: A series of pouches spread throughout his body that end up with the same carrying capacity of the average backpack.
Other: All this 'default meta is op' stuff was my idea :D.

((The Asterisks powers are pre-determined, and unlocked slowly over time. You can make your own, but you'd need to decide upon all of your powers (14, one for each job level) before hand, as well as which stats are more important (Im working Ice on explaining asterisks as i type this). Or you can choose one from Bravely Default, an Asterisk that already has its powers decided.))

This is a bit confusing for me, I'll wait to see an app and i'll base off of that. 3 strikes, dont want 1.

Please post the remade asterisks as I can't find them on the wiki
((Remade asterisks? The story was just a good excuse to have people be able to make new asterisks. Also, this story is not on the wiki. If you dont wanna do a custom asterisk just choose one from Bravely Default.))

Accessory #2: A series of pouches spread throughout his body that end up with the same carrying capacity of the average backpack.

DEFAULT ERRY DAY!
((Reserve me please))
((There are no slots to fill, just apply before we begin.))
O lol. I'll apply soon. I'm still not totally aware of the thing this RP is based on? Are the asterisk powers my own wants or are they decided upon by you.
((Btw, just added a TON of stuff to the OP. Keep updated if you wanna apply.))
This is a bit confusing for me, I'll wait to see an app and i'll base off of that. 3 strikes, dont want 1.
(( Can my age be 14 1/2 ?))
((Id very much like it to be 15+, but if your app is good enough i suppose you could be 14 1/2.))
((I have edited the Reserved post. It now contains a story tracker and an Accepted Apps section.))
Please post the remade asterisks as I can't find them on the wiki
((Remade asterisks? The story was just a good excuse to have people be able to make new asterisks. Also, this story is not on the wiki. If you dont wanna do a custom asterisk just choose one from Bravely Default.))
((That's what I mean, I can't find anything called asterisks on the Bravely Default wiki ))
((They're otherwise known as jobs. Sorry. Still, strange that theres no mention of asterisks...))
