That's all I could think of besides carrying my gun on my side with my drone and robot behind me. I ran towards the GPS coordinates I found on the broadcast and stood right there. I decided to look around and found that it was actually a closed SolTek Transit bus stop with all the cameras knocked out, which is great considering that I'm on a SolTek Watchlist. I decided to wait for a bus at the stop (while hiding, considering a SolTek employee might pass by).
As Jason sat there in his office, examining the map and the incoming data from the scouts, he got a message from one of his field surveyors. He opened it up and read it. "Hey Billy, I need you to go down to the store and get some Snapple for the party." It was code, as Billy was the fake name the throwaway messaging account was under, and it was written in such a way that it wouldn't arouse suspicion among anyone reading the message.
"Right." Jason says, "I think I need to go pick someone up." He walked out of the office and toward a surface access point inside a public parking structure. He had a couple of cars there, keys hidden inside the wheel arch with some duct tape. He picked a grey sedan, something that blended in very easily. He got in and as he was buckling up, he looked up Snapple on the list. He only had to type in "Sna" before the name Ashton Snapp appeared, along with a mugshot. He chuckled at the pun as he buckled up.
((That wasn't a mistake, it was done intentionally to make the message inconspicuous.))
Jason turned the corner and saw two people at the bench. He double checked his list, seeing that they were both there. He pulled to a stop at the stop, reaching back to open the back door.
"Now that's just rude." Jason says, then turning to Ashton, "Besides, you're both on the list, so you aught to hop in too." He motions for Noah to scoot over and make some room.
"Well once I can get the door shut, I'll be able to tell you." Jason says, looking at Ashton, "Which means you're going to have to get in before I drive off without you."
I enter the car with the two men after putting my robot and armed drone either in the trunk or in the seat beside me. "Okay, so can you tell us what's going on? Also, I wasn't resorting to hostility, I was preparing self-defense if it was to be needed. I'm on a watchlist so I need to watch my back."
Jackal thought about his role in all of this. He had been trained in the art of stealth along with hand to hand combat. Maybe he could help with the initial infiltration. Despite this, he knew what he was best at. That being flight and he intended to do what he was best at. His chance came when the idea of a Plan B was discussed. He knew exactly what he could do in order to help the group. Suddenly, Jason got up and left. Jackal knew he could still get a suggestion from the rest of the group so he said, "I have an idea as to a plan B. If we can get our hands on a gunship somehow, I can fly dark until I get the call to open fire. Those ships have thermal shielding over the engines. That means that I could presumably fly past all the cameras and find a safe place to land. It also means that there would be an easy exit strategy in case things get really hairy. Gunships are also equipped with armor piercing rounds so I could take out any armored vehicles that could be defending the base. There are a couple problems though. Firstly, I would need somebody to man the guns. My mind may be quick but I only have 2 hands. Secondly, finding a gunship may be a problem. What does everyone think?"
Remi sighed. "Plan B is to wing it" She said to Jackal. "And I am pretty sure gunships are heavily guarded" She added on, they were huge death machines if put in the wrong hands... which they were in currently. She sat down, not too sure what to do, and she guessed she would be one doing the dress up, maybe with someone else, though she couldn't change her face. Working together people can get in the way, so she generally tends to stick to herself, though this might turn out profitable to work with the rebellion.
Jason drove them back to the parking structure, briefly summarizing that he was leader of the Rebellion and that they were selected for their talents. He got them back into the hideout with him and lead them to the office with the others. "These are the other new recruits, you can introduce yourselves to the others and read those files over there. Jackal, sorry for the interruption, you were saying something about gun ships, right?"
I quickly introduced me, my robot, and my drone to the other recruits. "Anyways, now that I have the introduction out of the way, I want to tell you guys a little bit about my self. I was born in a test-tube, I can hack and program a computer, I can operate a robot, and I can fly an armed drone. The fact that I can do all those things is probably why I'm selected to be in the Resistance. Also I hate SolTek because they killed my family. Did you guys see that car crash on the TV? That wasn't an accident. The SolTek guy was smiling at their death. I hate them."
Remi seemed to be quite opposed to the idea of a gunship, saying that they were too heavily guarded. "Truthfully, any old ship will do, I just need a flying machine equipped with a remote control gun capable of piercing armor in order to do my thing. Gunships are just the best option." Said Jackal. Suddenly, Jason came back just as Jackal was finishing what he said. He brought along 2 individuals with him. Jackal assumed that these people were more of the "Best of the Best" and decided to introduce himself to them. "Hello, y'all can call me Jackal." He began, "You need to get somewhere, I am your man. Anyway, as I was saying, if we could acquire a gunship somehow I could fly it and another person could man the gun. With my flying skills, it would probably make a decent plan B."
"A gunship? Dang, couldn't we just get some thermal cloaking and put it on my drone? Then again, a gunship would be much more effective and be more powerful... but it WOULD be hard to get. I mean, I know how to hack, but I can't hack up a gunship for you guys! Even intelligence has limits!" I said to the person who I believe is Jackal. "Meanwhile, I'm going to try and find some information on SolTek... a LOT of information... like their entire servers worth... but I won't hack them because I think you guys tried that already. I think. Not too sure though."
I ran towards the nearest computer I could find, plugged in my Universal Interface, and began to surf the internet. This could take a while.
"Right, well, we don't have access to any of the fancy ships SolTek's got, but I do think we've got something you'd be interested in downstairs." Jason says, "If you'd like to follow me, I'll show you."
Much to Jackal's dismay, the Resistance had not acquired a gunship yet. But, apparently they had acquired some sort of flying machine. Jackal became immediately curious. He wanted to see exactly what they had acquired and he wanted to see if it would still work for his purposes. With that thought, he said, "If it flies, I'm interested." He began to follow Jason downstairs to see what he had in store for Jackal. About half way down, Jackal said, "I had a thought. How do you plan to communicate with us when we are in the base? I mean, do you have a communication system set up?"
After a while, Ashton realized that he couldn't find any information on SolTek that he could use. He left and found that Jackal and Jason weren't in the room. He DID, however, see some stairs. He decided to walk down there and, to his non-suprise, he saw Jackal and Jason a-walking down. He caught up with them and asked them where they were going.
