Arthur was surprised by what Zack said, his plan didn't involve anyone but himself. He said that he would take one the entire attack singlehandedly, Arthur knew that Zack was powerful but did he think that he could defend the castle all by himself? Even he couldn't be everywhere at once, probably. Apparently others in the group felt the same way as there was much talking after he had finished. Arthur caught some words of what they were saying, including thoughts that Zack had lost his mind. This was obviously not normal. It did seem like that Zack was perhaps too confident, and Arthur doubted that overconfidence would help in a battle. However Arthur did not speak out against Zack, Niv had said that Zack had singlehandedly drove back the first attack on the castle but Arthur doubted that they would send an attack like the first. This attack would probably be much harder than the first attack on the castle. Arthur heard a sound, that combined with the sun setting indicated that the attack was about to happen. Soon Zack's plan would be put to the test and either succeed or fail miserably. He just hoped that it would be the former.

Callandra was shocked to say the least. She knew that Zack was powerful, that was obvious. But only himself against the whole attack, that was a different story. Her mind raced with gruesome possibilities, but she expertly guarded her emotions. Anyone to glance at her would only see cold indifference, not the anxious sinking feeling that was starting within. As the voices of the others rose up, she couldn't help but agree with some of them. If Zack thought this was a good plan, he was either insane, or a genius. Callandra silently doubted both. When Zack started to walk away, her first instinct was to chase after him, demand to know what the bloody hell was he doing. But she made herself stay rooted to the spot as a horn sounded in the distance. She glanced up at the other new recruit beside her. "I hope he knows what he's getting himself in to."
Zack walked out of the gate, and before him stood a slow moving army. Orks, goblins, and various other creatures were lurking forward - Wielding whatever weaponry just so happened to be around. Several stopped and laughed at the one man who came to oppose them. One, looking slightly taller than the others (And one of the few appearing to be wielding a decent looking sword) walked forward, smirking. Zack stood firm and the Ork began to run forward, a large sword coming down at Zack. He turned to the side, causing the sword to barely miss as his knee swung up and nailed the ork in the head and sparks of electricity flew off of his knee. The Ork stammered back before regaining his balance, but was immediately slammed in the stomach by Zacks hand, which went straight through the Ork and shot an arch of electricity out of his back. The Ork fell to the ground dead, as the others started to dawn more serious looks. They ran forward and Zack became a blur, electricity shooting off in random directions as monsters fell dead everywhere. Zack stopped in the middle of a circle of dead bodies, looking very drained. He was covered in sweat, and blood appeared to be dripping from his mouth. There were still many, many enemies left. He raised a hand to the sky and lightning shot up into the clouds, which struck back down to his hand. He punched the ground as lightning struck his fist, causing a wave of electricity to ripple through the ground and killing every enemy in front of him. Zack fell to his knees as more enemies came forward, smirking.
"He can't do it.." Niv whispered under his breath before he ran out the gate, jumping and landing in front of Zack as energy manifested, protecting him from an incoming arrow.
"He might, but this does seem like a bad idea. However I don't know much about battle strategies" Arthur replied turning to the person who spoke, recognising them as the other recruit. He thought that she must have succeeded in proving herself in the sparring like he had done. He also realised that he didn't know her name and at the moment it didn't seem like they would be joining the battle. "I don't think we have been formally introduced, my name is Arthur. Nice to meet you" he said this with a sort of halfhearted smile. He momentarily wondered what her power was, assuming she had one that is. She didn't seem like one of the soldiers. A sudden shot of lightning caught his attention, it might be Zack fighting back the attack. Just how well this plan of Zack's was going was a mystery to Arthur, a mystery that lasted until he heard a voice. The voice whispered something, before Arthur could ask them what they had said he saw someone running towards the gate, that someone was Niv. Something must be wrong, Zack had said he wanted to stop the attack by himself. If Niv was running towards him something must had gone wrong. "That can't be good" he said to the other recruit, "I think it might be a good idea to try to help." Without waiting for a reply, Arthur began walking towards the gate, hoping that the other recruit would follow.

Callandra nodded at the other recruit's response. "I'm Callandra," she said with a small smile. "It's nice to meet you too." She wondered what his skill was as she glanced at him. She looked out as lightning cracked across the army, and sighed. "This isn't going to work." This much was clear, Zack couldn't defeat an army, she couldn't see it. Her heart sank as Niv voiced her concerns. She cursed herself, why hadn't she done anything earlier. As Niv took off, Callandra knew that help was needed. Niv wouldn't just run out to watch. At least she hoped not. Callandra watched as Arthur said something she didn't quite catch and ran over too, she waited a moment before making a split second decision. She grabbed her daggers and took off after Arthur, easily catching up. They weren't going down, at least not without a fight. These --------- would get burned.
Energy flowed around Niv, forming a skeletal rib cage which deflected oncoming weaponry as Zack fell to the ground and passed out. A skeletal arm formed, wielding a sword which swiped and killed a couple orks, but more surged forward. Tezzeret had teleported in the middle of the enemies, blocking and deflecting attack after attack.
Tezzeret ducked below a sword, spinning and knocking the ork down with his leg before jumping and landing an elbow on it's throat, killing it. He kicked another orks wrist as it attempted to slice him, causing it to drop the sword as Tezzeret slipped behind him and snapping his neck.
The number of orks finally thinned to just a few. Then a figure in full black armor appeared. He was easily seven feet tall, wielding a massive black two handed sword.
Arthur was a little surprised when the other recruit, named Callandra, caught up to him so quickly. Perhaps she thought that Zack needed help too. Arthur began to run, soon reaching the point where Niv, Tezzeret and Zack were. He saw Niv using his power to create the same skeletal ribcage and arm made of energy that Niv had used in the sparring match against Arthur. He saw Tezzeret blocking attacks masterfully, feeling glad that he had chosen to spar against Niv. The number of attacking soldiers, who appeared to be orcs, was thinning. Did Zack plan this all along or was it a coincidence? Arthur surveyed the surrounding area, taking note at the number of orcs left. He focussed his power, holding his hands out in front of him. An orb of psychic energy appeared, it was transparent but it distorted any light that came through it and made any images appear upside-down. When the orb grew to a reasonable size, Arthur launched it at the nearest orc. Before he could even tell if his attack hit or not he noticed a new figure on the battlefield. One that seemed different from the orcs, they were dressed in some sort of black armour and weilded an enormous sword. They were also quite tall and Arthur found the figure overall very intimidating. Who were they? Which side were they on? Would Niv, Tezzeret, Zack, Callandra and Arthur have to fight the stranger?

Callandra immediately ran past Arthur, through the thinning Ork ranks to Zack's unconcious form. Slashing her flaming daggers at any Ork that got too close. She looked around at her fellow Nephalem, most of them using only their magic to attack. She was glad they were on their side as she watched Niv and Tezzeret expertly dominate their opponents. Arthur's power made her curious though, she wasn't quite sure what it was yet. Her attention returned as an Ork swung at her. She stepped back, quick as lightning and burned a hole through the back of his head from behind. She stepped closer to Zack, sending flames out at the last few closest Orks. Callandra turned a saw a massive figure in black. She scanned it, looking for possible weak spots in it's armour. The sword it had looked deadly, a thought briefly went through Callandra's head. How easy it would be for the figure to cut them all down and destroy with that. As quickly as it came though, the thought was gone, confused, Callandra wondered where the hell that came from. She looked again at the figure, then tried to make alarmed eye contact with Arthur.
Arthur readied his power for use again, there were yet more orcs that demanded his attention. He raised his arms again, another orb of psychic energy formed in his hands and was thrown towards the orcs. He caught glimpses of Callandra using her power, it was something to do with fire but now was not the time for speculation. He looked towards the black armoured figure again, they didn't seem to be fighting orcs so they may be attacking the castle though he couldn't be sure. If they were attacking the castle, perhaps Arthur could attack them, catch them off guard. He caught the alarmed look from Callandra, she may not be sure what to make of the figure also. Arthur responded with an unsure look, a look that said 'what are we supposed to do about the armoured figure'. If their powers were anywhere near as intimidating as they were, they were probably in trouble. However he didn't have time to contemplate the presence of the unknown figure as there were still orcs around. Arthur focussed his power once more, this time instead of an orb of psychic energy forming a dome around him formed instead. It might have been a shield if it didn't expand outward rapidly, it was a pulse of psychic energy which after a while faded, he didn't want to accidentally hit his allies.
The figure moved forward. It's armor clanked as it moved slowly - Obviously the armor held it down. Niv's energy sword swiped from the side at the figure, slicing it straight in half. The armor continued to move as red fire-like energy flowed out from the slice in the armor. It readied it's sword, slashing it at Niv. The ribs cracked and bent, causing Niv to fall back onto his back side. The figure raised his sword again and swung it down at Niv.
Arthur watched in horror as the mysterious figure attacked his teammate, Niv, despite being sliced in two mere moments before. Who was that figure, or what were they? Were they even human? Whoever or whatever it was, it was not on their side. In an effort to stop the armoured figure, Arthur thought it best to attack it, preferably at range. He focussed his power again, an orb of psychic energy forming in his hands. He wanted to stop the figure in its tracks, however it had survived beihg cut in half before so Arthur didn't know what his attack would do. He waited, focussing more psychic energy into the orb until it was ready. With some careful aiming, Arthur propelled the orb toward the figure, unsure that it would do anything. A thought nagged at the back of his mind, he would have to be careful not to run out of energy during this battle. He hoped that the group could stop the armoured figure and the orcs, less they destroy the castle. He looked over to Callandra, wondering if her fire power or whatever her power was would work well against the figure. Panic rose in Arthur as he thought that, if the armoured figure's capacity to regenerate or sheild itself from attacks was anything to go by, this battle was going to be much harder than he orignally thought.

Callandra watched the figure come closer, noting that it looked as if the armour was weighing it down. As it swung towards Niv, Callandra felt the strong tug of her power, coming from inside. It needed to be released. She held her hands out toward the looming figure, white hot flames dancing around her arms. She knew subconciousally that the fire was getting hotter, but her ability made her unable to feel the heat. She pushed harder, bringing forth memories and emotions to fuel her fire. This was the strongest her flame had ever been, she just hoped it would do something and she wasn't wasting it. Squeezing her eyes shut she yelled and sent the searing wave of flame towards the figure. She could feel her energy already draining, but she wouldn't let it hurt anyone else.
The gravity well hit first, causing the armor to shutter. It didn't send him flying back, but instead broke open the left side of the chest plate. It exploded, making a large hole in the metal as red energy flowed in mass from the inside. The flames hit it next, searing the right arm. The metal became soft and melted - Until it fell off. For a second red energy was in the shape of an arm where the armor was, before it lost traction and flowed up into the sky. From the hole where the arm was red energy flowed. It's sword had dropped to the ground as it stepped back, pulling a one handed black blade from it's back and wielding it in left arm as it's hollow armor began to move in the direction of Arthur.
Arthur watched as his attack and Callandra's hit their mark. His psychic energy hit first, instead of pushing the figure back it made it sudder. It soon became apparent that they were no ordinary human or orc, but something like animated armour. The psychic orb dislodged some of the armour, revealing some sort of red energy inside. The fire that Callandra attacked with managed to cause significant damage to the figure's arm, making the armour fall away revealing more of the strange red energy. Even losing an arm didn't stop its attack, only making it switch to a one handed sword. What would it take to make the figure stop? It started moving towards Arthur, making a feeling of panic fill him. Could it be stopped? One attack had managed to make it lose an arm, what if that could be done again? Without any arms it wouldn't be able to use its sword, but could such a strategy work? For his own safety and that of the others, he hoped that it could be stopped. He focussed his power, noting that his energy was starting to cause strain. The first effect of the overuse of his power had begun, he felt a sort of faint headache. Despite this he used his power to form another orb of psychic energy and launched it at the figure, hoping to cause some damage and to at least make it slow down.

Callandra felt a wave of satisfaction as both her's and Arthur's attack hit the figure, leaving large gaps in the armour. She saw the red energy flowing inside the figure, she assumed then, it must be controlled, like a puppet of sorts. Callandra was breathing heavily as she watched the figure move towards Arthur, she noted that her legs felt slightly shakey as she stood. She knew that she didn't have much energy left for her magic. She glanced down at Zack, still unconscious beside her, then at Arthur and the figure, who was now wielding a large blade. She made a split second decision and ran over to help Arthur.
((So, so, sorry. My internet has been acting screwy lately. It wouldn't let me log on for more than a few minutes.))
The second orb hit the figure in the right breastplate, causing bits of black metal to fly off as the hole where his arm used to be became larger, bending inward. It started to slow down, as less and less of the energy appeared to be spilling from it's wounds. It's sword was dangling, however still in his hand.
Another suit of black armor appeared, but this time Tezzeret engaged it. He jumped back, narrowly avoiding the black blade. Again it came, this time slicing downward. Tezzeret moved to the side as a blue orb appeared around the blade. The blackness of the weapon seemed to peel off like paint - revealing normal metal. Tezzeret had to let go of the magic to dodge an incoming fist from the figure. When the orb vanished, the blade turned black. Obviously this armor is some kind of magic.. I wonder.. He though. He held up both hands as a runic word glowed brightly in each palm. A massive partially see through blue orb appeared around the entire suit of armor. It's magic coating starting to vanish, but this did not stop it as it moved forward and interrupted Tezzeret, making him dodge several incoming swings. Then suddenly a giant slash through the armor appeared, causing red energy to spew out of it. Elspeth was on the other side of the armor, his sword in hand (And glowing white.) "You don't wake up until there's trouble, do you?" Tezzeret said, annoyed. Elspeth smiled as he became a blur. Slashes appeared all over the armor, causing it to shake and drop it's sword as more and more energy flowed from it. "Elspeth, as usual, I'm trying to study the enemy.. Can you do me a favor? Try using a scimitar with no magic." Tezzeret said, now comfortably standing back while Elspeth unleashed a fury of swipes on the creature. Elspeth switched to one of his scimitars and attacked. The blade couldn't penetrate the armor what so ever, simply bouncing off. Elspeth then switched back to his other weapon and continued. Eventually the armor was riddled with slashes, holes, and cracks. It was covered in a cloud of red energy when finally it simply fell apart. A ghostly figure of a man in armor floated away into the sky, dissipating.
Somewhere nearby, on the road to the castle..
"Can't we just.. Leave Zack alone? What if he finally gives in?" a high pitch voice said, coming from a staff. The person holding the staff was a young child, a boy of roughly ten or eleven. When he spoke, his voice was not that of a child, but that of something ancient and powerful. "No. He's easy to manipulate, particular soft spot for his family." He said. "But.. Exsequor. What about his little brother? Was he found?" The staff said. Exsequor smiled. He banged the end of the staff against the road as a large coffin shot from the street, seeming to phase through solid particles. It opened, the corpse of a teenage boy inside. "Of course not. Nobody found our spot." Exsequor said as the coffin descended back into the ground. "At least give us some protection.." The staff said. "We do. At least one body for each of his recruits.. Young girl, Callandra I think? She was one of the new ones. Her dad died from a poison, and mother died from an ork raid on their town. Both bodies in my possession.. Also, Arthur. His father. Particularly skilled mage, from what I could tell.. Death from one of the Lords themselves. Probably Fear. Powerful body to have in my own possession. I don't think they'll want to fight." Exsequor said.
Arthur's attack once again hit its mark, the orb breaking more of the armour and allowing more of the strange red energy to escape. What was this thing? Was it sentient or was it being controlled. He saw that the walking armour had slowed down, but still weilded its sword. He saw that Callandra had come over to him, possibly to help stop the being that was still walking towards him with a sword that would probably be plunged into him as soon as it got close enough. In the distance, Arthur saw another being in black armour near Tezzeret, Tezzerer was using magic on the armour but Arthur wasn't sure what he was trying to achieve. He was surprised when Elspeth joined him, probably having just recovered from the sparring match. Arthur looked back to the armoured figure who was still approaching him, certain that he would have to deal with this before anything else. He focussed his power, his headache worsening as another orb formed in his hands. As it grew, Arthur placed his hand on his head vainly trying to stop the pain. He shot the orb at the armoured figure. He would need to rest before long, he looked over to Callandra. "I'm running out of energy, don't worry I'll be fine as long as that doesn't get any closer. I'm not sure if I will be able to make a strong enough sheild" he said, referring to the armoured figure.

Callandra noticed the figure getting slower after it was hit with Arthur's attack. She saw another figure appear and Tezzeret start to engage it, hoping that he could get his of it quickly. He wasn't slashing at it or anything though, he appeared to be attempting to use magic on the figure. She felt a small twinge of unease as Elspeth joined him, seemingly back and fine from the spar earlier. Callandra turned her attention back to Arthur and the figure slowly coming towards them. When Arthur spoke, she nodded, Arthur wasn't the only one losing energy, she could feel a weight on the back of her mind. Guessing that she had enough for another attack, she sent a smaller wave of fire towards the oncoming figure, aiming this time, for inside the armour.
The orb hit the armor, blasting a large hole in the middle of the chest plate. Fire soon entered through the hole and the inside ignited, the metal beginning to melt in every place. The red energy flowed out of several enlarging holes until the armor simply busted, breaking into tons of small black metal fragments. The red energy, in the shape of a faceless warrior, dissipated into the air, no longer bound by the armor.
All around lay the bodies of fallen enemies, blood splattered on the ground. A horn blew as remaining orks turned and ran back from where they came from.
"He can't do it.." Niv whispered under his breath before he ran out the gate, jumping and landing in front of Zack as energy manifested, protecting him from an incoming arrow.
