Elspeth blurred, causing dust to kick up where he moved. In less than a second he suddenly appeared to the right of Callandra. He thrusted his elbow at her, aiming to simply knock her off balance as the sword sliced inward, although mostly for show. He would purposefully miss with his sword if she was tripped, mostly because the sword would slice her in half, cause all her organs to implode, then turn to glass.
(Elspeth is shirtless, just some basic pants and his weapons strapped around him. He has fairly long blond hair.)
Niv's eyes widened as he saw the wave of energy. He couldn't quite react quick enough as the pulse appeared to make contact, but blue energy spewed out in every direction as the pulse blew past him. A skeleton like rib cage made of the energy was around him, cracked in a few places from the pulse. Blood was visible coming from Niv's mouth, as creating such a precise and strong manifestation required a lot of energy. The rib cage, although made of pure blue energy, made a cracking sound like bone as it slowly mended, fixing itself where the pulse had bent and cracked them. Niv coughed, drops of blood hit the ground. He held out his right hand and another sword formed, he began moving in, although it was obvious the rib cage slowed him significantly.
Arthur watched as the pulse of psychic energy neared Niv. He thought that the pulse had hit its mark, until the blue energy that Niv created formed into what could only be described as a ribcage, protecting him. It seemed that Arthur's attack did nothing, but it was then that he noticed something. Niv coughed, perhaps his attack wasn't as useless of he thought. It was possible that when blocking his attack Niv expended too much energy. However, this didn't seem to do to much to deter another attack, except for the blue energy ribcage now seeming to continue to protect Niv. Even after the pulse the ribcage seemed mostly intact, in addition to that it was repairing itself. Coupled with the fact that Niv now had another blue energy sword, Arthur was doubting that he would be able to spar for too much longer. He was still sore from the original sword strike. Although now that Arthur thought about it, Niv would have a lot more experience and training and therefore would have an advantage. Hoping that maybe he could defend for long enough so that the sparring match would last long enough. Concentrating, Arthur created a barrier around himself, unsure how long it would last. His powers were starting to get strained, making the barrier had given him a slight headache which would only get worse as he used his powers more and more.
As I approached the fortress known as Castle Nephalem, I inhaled and exhaled nervously, not knowing what to expect. "Castle Nephalem. Supposedly the last bastion for humanity. Well, I've made it this far, turning back's no longer an option," I muttered to myself. I inhaled, then walked inside.
Upon having walked inside, a man gave me a small application sheet. Taking a few minutes to fill it out, I handed it back to him with a serious expression on my face.
((I'm really sorry about the short post. Normally it'd be a lot more detailed, but I'm only just recently joining in, and my creativity's kinda stopped up now.))

"We must call for aid! Executor, bring out the Reavers! ... What? What do you mean we don't have reavers anymore? Then... send the Dragoons! ... Ugh, then what do you suggest? ... What's a Void Ray?!" -Tassadar, Savior of the Templar
Nivs energy sword changed, becoming more detailed. It soon looked like a fine double edged one handed sword. He swung it, clashing it down on the barrier. He then jumped back, noting that it would take more to penetrate. More bones formed, creating a right arm coming from the rib cage. A massive sword formed, becoming finely detailed like the previous. Niv coughed, splattering the ground below him in blood. He looked... Woozy, kind of drunken in a way. He began to move, much slower than before, but do to the reach of the arm it didn't take much to become within range. The massive energy sword swung from the side at the shield.
Zack smirked. "Well, a third recruit. Works perfectly." He tosses the piece of paper to the side. "Well, like the others, I'll ask that you spar with another recruit in order to prove your work. Had you arrived earlier you may have gotten the chance to choose.. Oh well. He can introduce himself." A younger man, of about the age of twenty one, cleared his throat. "Hi there, I'm Tezzeret, the seeker and scholar mage." He smiled. He was thin and wore blue robes outlined in red. He was sickly pale (Probably caused by hours upon hours of reading books) and his hair was a blood red color.
When Niv's sword changed, a lump of panic formed in Arthur's throat. The sword had become much more detailed, it appeared double edged now. It crashed against the barrier Arthur had made. A resonating sound echoed when it hit, the barrier absorbed the impact. Arthur's headache worsened when it did, more energy had to go into the barrier to stop it from collapsing. He placed his hands on his temples and knelt on the ground, trying to drown out any external influences that could worsen the ache. He watched as Niv jumped backwards after the strike, seeming to prepare to stike again. Arthur knew if this attack was any more powerful than the last the barrier would collapse and the sparring match would be over, with Niv being the winner. However, Niv looked weakened, perhaps from blood loss. It did seem that Niv's powers were starting to tax him. He had created an arm to go with the ribcage, the arm was holding en enormous blade, ready to crash down on the barrier. Arthur was terrified now, the sparring match would be over any moment now and he was probably going to lose. Hopefully he had proved himself by now. The blade was swung at the side of the shield. The shield momentarily became opaque at the point where the sword hit, the barrier flexed and cracked before collapsing with a sound that could be described as breaking glass. Arthur yelled out in pain as the barrier sapped energy from him and his headache worsened again. Arthur spoke, now sitting on the ground, he knew when it was hopeless to continue, "I concede. You win" he said simply.
Others? That meant there were more of... well, people like me than just me. "Nice to meet you, Tezzeret. My name's Neo," I said as I shook his hand. "So you're my sparring partner? Should be interesting, considering I'm a mage as well," I said with a smile. "Shall we get started, then?" I asked, my left hand covering itself in a dark shadow, my right hand covering itself in a bright light.

Nivs energy dissipated, making a loud sizzling sound as it faded, no longer held in place by him. He fell to his knees. "If you had kept that up any longer I would've passed out.." He started, panting. "I'm the strongest here, but I don't last very long.." He finished, trying to stand back up. "Definitely pass.."
Tezzeret smirked. "We've got a special place for sparing, let's not blow up the tent, eh?" He said, holding up his hands. A blue aura like light shone around Neo's hands, causing the magic to instantly vanish. The aura went away. "Follow me." Tezzeret walked forward into a hall and to the left. After a while of walking he reached a pit similar to the others - deep enough into the ground that you can't run away. He walked down the steps until he reached the edge, turned, and waited.

Callandra had no time to react as Elspeth was suddenly at her side. She goes to slash at him, but is hit in the shoulder with his elbow, making her lose her balance and fall. On the ground, she grimaces, knowing that she would have a bruise later. Seeing the sword come towards her in a blur, she desperately kicks out at Elspeth's sword arm and sends a tendril of fire up to the ends of his hair. Not enough to travel up his head and burn, just to stay and singe the tips, and hopefully freak him out a little.
"Oh, right," I said with slight embarrassment. I followed Tezzeret down the long hall, and he led me to a rather large pit, almost like a ring that one would stage a gladiator deathmatch in. I walked down the stairs into the pit, and stood across from Tezzeret on the opposite side of the pit. I held up my hands in preparation, two spheres forming in my hands - one of light, one of darkness. "Ready whenever you are, Tezzeret," I said with a smirk.

Elspeth jumped back, patting out the small fire. Deciding that he'd rather not accidentally kill someone, he sheathed his sword. He pulled the large spear from his back. The blade was rather long for a spear, and looked razor sharp. He threw the spear, aiming for a non-lethal spot on Callandra.
Tezzeret chuckled. "You'll find that I'm always ready. Fighting me is unlike the others - If you can touch me with magic or weapon or your hands, you win." He said, sounding exceedingly arrogant. He lifted his left hand, and two blue transparent orbs formed around Neos hands, extinguishing the magic immediately. "I'm the counter mage here, the only one left after my family was exterminated." He said.
((This is an interesting match up, as Tezzeret is specifically anti-mage.. I find it funny you just so happened to be against him. Only other option could've been Zack and trust me, you don't want to deal with that))

As Elspeth sheathed his sword and grabbed a spear, Callandra quickly got to her feet and darted back. She aimed her now flaming dagger at Elspeth's thigh while he threw the spear. Quickly releasing the dagger, she tried to dodge the spear. Not quite moving fast enough she received a long cut on her left bicep.
Elspeth dropped to a knee as the dagger pierced his leg. He made a slight grunt before standing again, ignoring the pain altogether. His brain switched to complete offensive mode, steam roller. He unstrapped the shield on his arm and dropped it. His body began to glow hot white. He pulled both of his scimitars from their sheathes, wielding them both. His white aura spread along their blades as well.

Panic began to well up in Callandra as Elspeth and his swords started to glow white. Her eyes widened as she figured that she had probably pissed him off. Now only wielding one dagger, as the other was still in Elspeth's thigh, she knew that this had to end soon. She started a flame in her left hand and tried to focus on it. Trying to feel it grow up and around her hand and arm, getting hotter by the second. Ignoring the weariness nagging at the back of her mind, she could feel the fire getting slightly larger.
Arthur stood up, still holding his head due to the ache. Through the pain he heard that he passed, he smiled. He had made a good enough impression to be accepted. In response to what Niv had said about if the sparring match continued any longer he would have passed out Arthur said jokingly, "If I had continued any longer I would have passed out." This was the truth, using his power too much caused headaches and eventually unconsciousness. He started to walked to the stairs that led back to the main part of the castle. He needed to rest before doing anything else, he thouht that Niv would probably tell whoever was in charge that he passed. The sparring match was taxing to say the least, Niv was powerful and if Arthur had kept using his power offensively he wouldn't have lasted as long. Having reached the stairs he slowly climbed them, his headache slowly easing. He wondered what he would have to do next, training probably. He hoped that he would at least have time to rest. Having reached the top of the staircase he wandered around for a short while, finding a place where he could rest. He sat down, not too far from the sparring pit and rested. If he was going to have to train his power he would need to regain his strength or at least lose his headache.
"An antimage. Why did it have to be an antimage? Well, I guess this is a test of how well I handle... extreme conditions," I said as I pulled out my machete and wielded it in my right hand. I would only be able to use magic if I ever get the jump on him, so this was going to be difficult, and that was probably putting it lightly. I twirled my machete absentmindedly in my right hand, all the while looking at Tezzeret tensely. Then, after about ten seconds, I ran forward, ready to swing my machete fiercely. That was probably a mistake, but let's roll with it.

Elspeth became a blur once again, appearing behind Callandra with both scimitars closing in on her waist from either side.
"Woah, woah man. Slow down, you're hurt." Niv caught up behind Arthur. "Need an auramancer over here!" He yelled. Within a few seconds a younger woman, guessing to be around her early twenties, appeared. She wore green robes outlined in white. She got to a knee in front of Arthur, holding her hands in front of him. "Just relax, this won't hurt a bit." Her hands lit up neon green, sending magic throughout Arthurs body. After a few seconds she pulled her hands away. "Your mana should be mostly replenished now. Try not to use it so quick. Niv here could almost use a personal Auramancer." She giggled, punching Niv in the shoulder.
Tezzerets eyes widened. They normally try more magic first, oh well.. He thought. He brought up his right hand, his wrist colliding with Neos, blocking the machete. He spun to the left, his elbow coming up to try and hit Neo in the head.

Moving forward and away like lightning, Callandra turns and sends a large searing length of flame towards Elspeth. She strains to not make it actually touch his skin, not wanting to injure him gravely.
The pain in Arthur's head subsided as the auramancer cast her magic. "Thank you, my headache is gone now" he said, "Usually after using my powers too much I get a headache and need to rest." He stood up, feeling much better now. He had used too much mana too quickly during the sparring with Niv, in combination with his psychic energy based powers resulted in a headache. The auramancer joked about Niv needing a personal aruamancer, he did say that he was the strongest here but didn't last very long. Meanwhile Arthur's powers were based on keeping the opponent at a distance, usually by knocking them backwards using psychic force, or defence by creating a shield. He supposed that he should train his power so he could use it for long periods of time, a shield combined with keeping the opponent at a distance would be a good strategy for outlasting the opponent. In the sparring match he almost did outlast Niv. Perhaps that would be good strategy to use in the next fight. It would be best to train before the next fight, however he did not know what was going to happen now that he was accepted into the castle. He turned to Niv, "Do you know what to do now? The sparring is over, do I wait for the other recruit to finish?" he asked.
After my machete collided with Tezzeret's wrist, he swung his elbow in an attempt to smack me in the head. I managed to roll to the side and avoid the swing of his elbow. I held my machete in my right arm, and my left arm began forming a dark sphere. He thought I was going to attack with some dark spell, but I was gonna try to throw him off guard. The dark spell held itself in my palm for several seconds, and just when it looked like I was going to launch the spell, I switched it up. As fast as I could, I threw my machete onto the ground, and after that I instantly crushed the dark orb in my hand, launching a ray of light at Tezzeret. With good luck, it might work, but I had no way of knowing. I then picked up my machete again, getting ready for a counterattack.

Elspeth raised his scimitars, blocking the flame which was easily absorbed by the blades engulfed in white. He began to look more animal like, as he bared fangs and his body glowed brighter. He vanished, appearing in various places all around Callandra, swinging his blades for minor cuts where ever he appeared.
Niv smiled. "Depends on how you're feeling. We can move straight to training, or you can rest. We'll have a fight on our hands tonight. Chaos armies have been sending increasing numbers at night fall, undoubtedly testing our limits." He said. "But I hear Zack has a plan for tonight.. Something special."
Tezzeret followed the moves, quickly calculating the possibilities as things happened. Regardless of what could happen, he had a response. As soon as the black orb was crushed in his hands, a see-through blue wall appeared in front of Tezzeret. The light shone forward until it reached the barrier, but none of it came out the other side. "I'm the scholar mage, title given to me by the circle of magi. My mind is a lot faster than others." He said arrogantly, smiling wickedly.
Zack walked the walls. It was such a nice day, the sun beginning to set. The beautiful shades of red and orange all across the sky made him feel warm. But tonight.. Tonight something had to be done. The numbers being sent were becoming too much, as last night they had managed to get inside the castle. This couldn't be allowed again, undoubtedly tomorrow was going to be the day where they would finally storm the castle.. Any good general would know to attack if their scouting parties beat their foe. That's why tonight Zack was going to single handed defeat the enemies battalion.
In the distance..
The drums beat. Orks and various other monsters ate raw meat around the fire, talking and snarling amongst themselves as the night fell. Inside a nearby building stood a man clad in silver armor, which was gilded with golden lightning bolts. His hair was blond and short, curled at the tips. In both his hands was a one handed sword made of gold. Another man entered through the door, wearing black armor gilded in a red fire-like pattern. His hair was black and long. He wielded no weapon, although his eyes looked.. Demented, as though his pupils were flames. "So you've arrived." Said the man in the silver armor, his voice low and powerful. The new person chuckled before speaking. "Yes, yes Fulgor. Geez, why do you worry? There was another nephalem heading to that castle that I saw on my way. Needless to say, he's a bit well-done" He said laughing. His voice was higher pitched and less powerful. The other man, apparently Fulgor, turned. "Do you find these times funny, Ignis? The last bastion of resistance is within our grasp. Tomorrow we march, and finally win. Yet you insist on being late? We know their commander has a massive power.. It will take at least myself to match him, and you to match all the nephalem, of which we've counted six other than Zack and his colonel." Fulgor said, obviously pissed off.
Ignis laughed. "Calm down brother, you act as if this Zack person is on level with a God. That kind of power hasn't existed since Tsuwa, the first nephalem. Besides, where's the fun in being timely." Ignis said. Lightning crackled, busting through the roof of the house and crashing full force into Ignis, which sent him flying back and into a tree. Fulgor walked forward, his armor crackling with electricity. "You will do as told by him." He said. Suddenly massive black flames erupted from the ground, shooting a large pillar of black flame into the sky, parting the clouds. When it died down, Fulgor stood, his armor blackened. He moved fast as lightning as his hand went straight through Ignis, shooting lightning into the sky from the other side. Ichor, the golden blood of the Gods, spurted from Ignis's body. Then everything fell silent. A voice boomed over the camp, so powerful that it could not be described. Some of the weaker orks died of heart attack, many went mad or fell into deep depression as it spoke. "Do not fight amongst yourselves, your fight is tomorrow. Even now they grow stronger." The voice said. It was ancient, deep and powerful.
