The map is the Roman Republic and various Greek kingdoms circa 200 BC.
Here are the rules: What country you play for:
Pick any country you want. You have to stick with it until it is conquered. If its conquered, you play for the one who dominates you. If 2 countries have equal territories, then pick any..
If many people pick a country, they will get less attacks.
How do I attack?
Make a post saying which country you are and who you want to attack. There must be a border if attacking by land, or if you attack by sea, you don't cross any other countries sea.
You can only attack once per day.
I.e Rome attacks Gaul.
How do I know how many attacks I have?:
Quote your post. The last digit on your post number is the number of territories. Also, the number of territories you dominate counts. You add a tenth of your current territories, rounded down.
Rome attacks Gaul. Post ends in 6. Rome has 23 territories. 6+20/10= 8 territories for Rome.
The more active players, the less territories the country gets. For example:
Rome has 4 active players. 8 x 0,8 = 7* territories.
*It is always rounded up.
Players - Multiplier
1 1 2 1 3 0,9 4 0,8 5 0,7 6 0,6
Can I specify my attack more?
Yes. You can say Rome attacks western Gaul. Also, if you can pick one country and then choose another one. For example:
Rome attacks Gaul and then Belgae, taking 7 territories. However Gaul has only 5, so 3 go to Belgae.
If a second country is not specified, the attacks get lost.
Can we have alliances?
You can make ceasefires. One player for a country says that he wants a ceasefire with another. If the other player agrees, then there it's done. You can move max. 10 territories through the allied country. To make one, there must be a common border or the shores must be close.
To break it, simply attack the country. You'll get a confirmation.

Ok, any other rules?
Actually. You may only post one time a day. This is so countries cannot win by generals spamming.
Notes:
The map is from around 200 BC. It has high chances of presenting small historical mistake.
The Ptolomeic Empire is Egypt.
The map extends all the way into modern-day Afghanistan because there was a Greek kingdom.
The ??? means that I couldn't find any information about that area. Some maps say Finns lived there, while others say Slavs lived there. To make the easiest fix, the ??? is a separate country and you can play for it.
The Greek lands refers to all the places that had greek culture. Greece were city-states or small kingdoms. Since they would be to small, I put them all together.
Celtic tribes are divided into many countries to avoid making a huge "Celtic Lands". The tribes are united in many countries.
??? continues the assault on the Finnish Tribes. If there is overflow, onto Pontus (or maybe it is the slavs? I'm not sure). Nearby blue nations must die!
???'s national color is anything but blue. Actually, all members of the ???, post a fact about ??? every time you post. That way, by the time we end the war, we'll have enough info on the country to rename all of Europe!
