Hello!
So, I came here with a little idea of a forum game, I used to play it in another forum. It's called "Murder in Palermo".
Let me tell you a few facts about it.
Story:
You may know Europe. So you may know Italy. So you may know the Mafia - yeah, at least that :wink.gif:
Imagine Palermo, a city located in Sicily and kind of "capital city" for the mafia.
This little town is home for twenty citizens. Well, actually they are only sixteen, for the other 4 of them being some Mafia-guys with only one aim: taking control over Palermo.
How it works:
At first, 20 players must be found. Shouldn't be too hard, I hope...
Next step is arranging the roles. 16 citizens, 4 mafiosi. And some special roles - i get to that later.
The game is divided generally in two phases: day and night phase.
During night, the creepy mafiosi crawl out and murder one of the innocent citizens. During day time, all of the players vote for one player to be killed (lynched) in the evening.
The catch: The mafiosi know each other, so they can plan their actions and talk, discuss, etc.
The citizens only know their own role, so they have to watch closely on the posts of the other players and combine on their own.
The citizens win, if there are all mafiosi lynched. The mafiosi win, if they kill so many Citizens that there are only twice as much citizens as mafiosi. For example: If 4 mafiosi are still alive, and only 12 players (= 4 mafiosi and 8 citizens) are in the game, mafiosi won. If they are only three, there have to be only 9 players (= 3 mafiosi and 6 citizens) remaining.
Sounds still lame?
Well, can't believe that. Because that is the pure, naked version of this game. But to add a bit more tense, you can add special roles like the detective, the *****, the psychologist or the traitor. This is kind of the creative part of the game, by inventing new roles :biggrin.gif:
So, after giving you that short piece of information, I would appreciate you to do three things:
1. Ask questions. I try to explain more detailled. Of course there are a few more rules to the game, but these above are the basic rules.
2. Tell me if you would like to take part in the first game!
3. Excuse my english - I spoke very little the last few years... :wink.gif:
Greetings,
LH

There's a block? Break it. There's a creeper? Slay it. There's a diamond? Get it!
this looks awesome! i want to be a citizen but im fine with mofia and what is my role i look like a skeleton.
Well, you can't actually choose your role, you get it by chance and can only blame random.org for being what you will be :3 What you look like doesn't matter that much...
Forget to mention every round has a "referee", one who posts the murder- and the lynch-posts and knows all the roles - would be actually me in the first round :wink.gif:

Actually, this is a forum game, so your IGN isn't required to take part.
Ok, let me try to make it more obvious, more clear.
As soon as there are twenty forum users participating in this game (i.e. when the list is full), I start a new topic called "GameThread: Murder in Palermo". I will post the general rules of the game and the participators for the actual round.
After this first post, everyone taking part in the game can post, but no one else. They post stuff like "I think xyz is Mafioso" or defend themselves against such accusations. During the day, they vote for one of players to be killed and expelled from the game 'til next round. The citizens try to get the Mafiosi through this, but will fail at some point and maybe lynch an other innocent citizen.
The Mafia gets a kill every night, so they murder a citizens either randomly or with some strategy in mind.
There are some rules, that say that, if you are killed or lynched, you cannot longer post in the thread (actually - your dead, right? Dead men can't talk :wink.gif:)
Also you are not allowed to ask other players, what their role is outside the gamethread (for example per PM or so).
If there are a few more interested forum users here, i will post the whole "rule catalogue" and explain some of the special roles (which will be detective, *****, traitor and chairman).
Give it a try! In the other forum we played like more than 30 rounds in the past year and it's always fun (also because of the funny murder- and lynchstories :wink.gif:)

Seems t be my last post today, for I need five more approved posts... Does anyone know how I get them, so I can answer any questions properly?
