Water:
Ballistics/Physical Weapons - immune (bullets and swords can't hurt water)
Explosions/Missiles/Nukes - (liquid) reconstitutes after 3 turns (all liquid/semi-liquid golems will; all golems can be contained during this period)
Lasers/Plasma - evaporate it into a Steam Golem
Magic - depending on type, may cause reconstitution in 3 turns, mutation into a different golem type or nothing.
Notes: Will not fight unless provoked; years of slavery have taught them to be timid.
Fire:
Ballistics/Physical Weapons - immune (have you ever cut a fire? Didn't think so.)
Explosions/Missiles/Nukes - (semi-liquid) reconstitutes after 5 turns
Lasers/Plasma - immune
Magic - depending on type, may cause reconstitution in 5 turns, mutation into a different golem type or nothing.
Notes: The backbone of the Fire Golem civilization; they will never "die out" completely.
Woah woah woah...
What if we attempt to freeze a water golem or a fire golem?
Can water golems/fire golems pass through walls?
Can fire golems swim?
This is starting to look a tad OP...

What if we attempt to freeze a water golem or a fire golem?
Freezing a Water Golem creates an Ice Golem, which is made of solid material and can be shattered into smithereens, never to live again. Why you would want to kill a Water Golem is beyond me, though, as they are nice once they realize you can be trusted. As to what happens when you cool a Fire Golem, the answer will be revealed on my next turn. :biggrin.gif:
Can water golems/fire golems pass through walls?
Lol, no. That would be terribly OP. All of my golems will be made of some sort of matter.
Can fire golems swim?
Answered next turn.
This is starting to look a tad OP...
It's meant to look that way... read the intro to my first post.
The trick is to abuse element combinations to turn the golems into something "more defeatable". Remember, liquid and semi-liquid golems can reconstitute in 3 and 5 turns respectively, and no one is stopping you from collecting "defeated golem bits" between these reconstitution turns, effectively ending the reconstitution.

[What I had in mind when inventing this civ was to create an inherently evil, somewhat-over-powered civilization. Note that their "scientific developments" will hinge solely on the "creation" of a new golem type. Each type of golem will have inherent strengths and weaknesses based on their element. The Fire Golems themselves are not able to fly, swim, or build, so the world is safe for now.]
Oh dear. I didn't read the OP to the golem civ. Sorry.
Yeah. Sorry about that. I'll just think with elements and figure out what I can use to kill them.
Yup, they're made of liquid fire, which makes them immune to heat sources (hence the immunity to lasers). The reason why they can't swim through water will be found in my next turn-post-thing.
Water golems?
Nope. Water Golems turn into Steam Golems upon immersion in lava. As Steam Golems are vapour, they can fly, but they can't swim at all. They will not be able to fit their molecules into a missile launcher, for instance, and take control of it either, because then they would indeed be very OP.
Do golems breathe?
Nope. They stay alive through some deus ex machina life force, hence the various turning-into-other-elements-upon-being-faced-with-different-albeit-logical-near-death-scenarios.
As a heads-up, I'm not going to have any Time/Ethereal/Gravity/Energy Golems or anything of that sort. They're way too OP and unformable with the element chains that I've started with.
I'll try to maintain logical combinations amongst my golems. I'm guessing that my most OP golems will be Steam (you can't hit it and it can fly, but remember that the original Water Golem that it is made of is good at its core), Diamond (very resistant to practically any attack) and Obsidian (almost the same as Diamond).
Since Steam, like I said, will be good, and Diamond will require the combination of three different, higher-tier golems, one of which will be good (the golems aren't terribly smart, so this "recipe" will remain very elusive), and Obsidian will require a very special case to form (think Minecraft-wise), the world is relatively safe from golem superpowers for the time being. :biggrin.gif:
If you wish to experiment upon Water Golems, feel free to ask to get the escapee. As long as your experiments wait for my input as to what the result is, they will successfully go to completion. Once the Water Golem knows you won't hurt it or any of its kind (by "hurt", I mean turn it into something solid and then smash it) and as long as you give it freedom, it will remain your loyal test subject (since it has only known servitude for all of its life, it won't mind servitude so long as it is not a slave).

The Stripe would like to share its newly found firearms technology with other civilizations (the boat men have informed us that there are indeed many more nations) in exchange for ores and other goods we cannot obtain in our homeland.
Mobilization
A group of six armed Stripes have begun to move towards the border between The Stripe and The Fire Golemns as a precautionary move. They will build a small military outpost on The Stripe's side of the border. Acknowledging that six fire golemns could likely take this outpost, we hope that it will not have to come to that. The Stripe simply wishes to make its presence known and enforce the boundary. Our ship carrying a few of our own towards what the boat men have told us is Reme. The Stripe will arrive later tomorrow with hopes of forming an alliance.
Threat of War
Seeing this new territory emerging on the south eastern coast of their territory, The Stripe has decided that this new civilization must not expand past the marked limit or else The Stripe will immediately use military measures to keep them behind the line.

The Stripe has settled down after what the Boat Men (OoC: Still calling them that, just for fun) have told us is quite the overreaction to the news of another territory arising on the island. The Stripe will still make an attempt to enforce this boundary, but The Stripe is completely open to a compromise as long as The Stripe is compensated for being here "first".

We have more gunpowder to trade. But anyways, here are the properties of redstone:
We have discovered that redstone is bouyant. That is why all our ships are built with it. Plus we have lots of it.
Redstone is rather flexible.
When powderized, it is quite sticky. in fact, powdered redstone has several different properties.
Redstone dust, when stepped on, lights up.
When Redstone dust is put on the end of a stick, it lights up. Unless there is lit up redstone dust-wires connecting to it, when it doesn't light up.
Lit redstone dust makes neighboring redstone dust light up.
And here is something rather interesting:
When lit redstone dust is connected to the end of a yellowstone object, the yellowstone object expands to twice it's size.
(Demonstration here, is unlit redstone dust, is lit redstone dust, is yellowstone)
Yellowstone is rigid and is not flexible.
As you can see here, we have developed oars that row themselves. Underground, in our mines, we have built a factory that creates spears which, at the push of a button, extend and hopefully impale an enemy.
Would you like a Retractable Spear or a Self-Rowing Oar?

Yes a spear would be nice. We can offer any of these.
Dirt, Sand, Leather, Wood, Clay, Stone, Coal, Iron, Obsidian, Green Rock, Sky Rock, Glass, Lava, Liquid Obsidian, Bamboo, Baja Fur, Fish, Opy Skin, Maag Eye, More animal remains,
I would also like the Gunpowder and perhaps we can continue trade for some resource above. Same with Redstone. You can decide which resource and the quantity can be decided later.

The Fire Golems have lost a slave today, and F'woosh is very ticked off. The failed captor is sentenced to hard labour forever. The changing of Fire Golem into Stone Golem has intrigued F'woosh, though, and he summons another Fire Golem and Water Golem from the depths. He intends to use both of them in some sort of freakish experiment to create some new golem.
The sudden de-rezzing of the entire world was noticed by the golems and they respond by flinging liquid fire all around them, especially at the sky.
The golem scout that spotted the "The Stripe" soldiers returns with the news to F'woosh. F'woosh promptly sends the scout back to make sure the "puny pink insects" try nothing funny. If something even remotely "funny" is tried, he is told to respond with extreme prejudice and plenty of fire-power.
The king then realizes his unintentional joke and returns to a neutral mood.
[No time to make a new pic today, may edit one in later]
*New golem type!*
Stone Golems:
Ballistics/Physical Weapons - normal damage (for a golem)
Explosions/Missiles/Nukes - (solid) entirely destroy the golem if explosion is strong enough
Lasers/Plasma - turn it into a Lava Golem upon long exposure to heat; if exposure is extremely long, Stone Golems revert entirely into Fire Golems.
Magic - depending on type, may cause destruction, mutation into a different golem type or nothing (you reeeally have to try to make Nothing happen, though...).
Notes: Probably one of the weaker golem types; solid-state golems can be entirely destroyed by being shattered to pieces; will also be used as a basis for multiple "golem alchemies"; can also handle resources safely.
Research:
The Water Golem has escaped and is swimming in a north-easterly direction. It will wind up at New Elmachia's harbour in 6-7 turns if not intercepted by another civ (or New Elmachia itself). Its Fire Golem captor jumped in the ocean to attempt to catch it, but turned into a Stone Golem (100%) and, consequently, became too slow to catch the Water Golem and returned unsuccessfully to F'woosh. In response to the Stone Golem's failure, it has been named Jeremy (which sounds nothing like the noises stones should make) and has been forced to build a giant stronghold to house the civilization. It is being "whipped" with globs of liquid fire to work faster by fellow Fire Golems (Lava Golems, 20%).
Resources:
Dirt, 200 units
Stone, 50 units
Buildings:
Stronghold, 5%:
- Walls, 25%
Population:
Fire Golems - 6
Water Golems - 2 (-1 which no longer belongs to my civ)

Overview
The Stripe has settled down after what the Boat Men (OoC: Still calling them that, just for fun) have told us is quite the overreaction to the news of another territory arising on the island. The Stripe will still make an attempt to enforce this boundary, but The Stripe is completely open to a compromise as long as The Stripe is compensated for being here "first".

...
So you are saying that you are trying to commit civilization suicide? ...
I think New Elmachia is becoming a superpower now... Seriously. I will probably get to <unnamed> first, am going to develop air travel soon...
Could some other major civilization declare war on us for some reason?Nevermind. I don't think it will be a good idea. I think I am on friendly terms with most of them anyways. Korador and Verendi are our trading partners... And they are two of the more powerful civilizations.Torralar rakkan

We've made a Rifle and Green Rock bullets. They can penetrate most alloys. Rifles are not being mass produced though. Gears have been invented (They kind of already were but not very popular in devices. A automatic weapon is in the process of planning. We might get one finished in 4 - 5 turns. A boat near Bona's island say the Golem and is going to pick him/her up. We will also stop at The Stripe and offer Obsidian and Opy Skin for the blueprints for the Assault Rifle. Obsidian shelter should be done tomorrow and the castle is going well. A wall has been completed and the 2nd is halfway complete. Bout it. Oh and all Militia Troops are being shown how to handle the Rifle. We are also training 1 spy.

Overview
The Stripe now hopes to trade its advanced technology for ores that it can not naturally mine for. While The Stripe worries about bringing the world into a new age of warfare, what must be done must be done.

To the Korador Ship: Would you like to become allies with us? Also, we are selling redstone for Artoko Skin. Do you have any other resources?
Dirt, Sand, Leather, Wood, Clay, Stone, Coal, Iron, Obsidian,
Green Rock,Sky Rock, Glass, Lava,Liquid Obsidian, Bamboo, Baja Fur, Fish, Opy Skin, Maag Eye, More animal remains,I would also like the Gunpowder and perhaps we can continue trade for some resource above.

Stone, 50 units
