Sharpshooters seem pretty underpowered. Their pathetic health means that they can maybe get two shots off before they die. And their range-based abilities are useless in a game where range doesn't matter. They should have more abilities that focus on increasing damage output and taking less damage.
"Oh, I just noticed Terminal Corruption is down. Neat."
Lemme get that Embodiment...B O N E L E S S. Its bones disappear and it collapses to the ground helplessly, doing BONELESS damage. Or massive internal bleeding caused by lack of structural support, whatever works.
If that somehow does nothing, I just shoot the Embodiment.

If you've met TehEpicNinja9001, you've met me. Somehow lost the account's password and email. Maybe I'll try and get it back one day. Or maybe not.
"Ah, darn, we lost the guy with the least amount of health but a lot of single target damage. That's probably not good, I guess? What'd he even die of? I wasn't paying attention. It looks like it messed him up pretty bad, though. I really hope this infection doesn't do that to me... I like having a body that doesn't fit snugly in a cake tin. Cake tins look very uncomfortable."
Beat.
"Also, last turn, he wasn't corrupted at all, so either people die according to low max health, low current health, or low overall health. Does infection mean I'm gonna be a target for that move earlier? Or more of a chance? Or anything like that? Too many unknowns."
I proceed to spin around violently in confusion while shaking my head at random, like a guy in a videogame looking everywhere nearby at once, then wildly flail the crab claw in the general direction of the embodiment of corruption, realizing that lack of funds means I can't afford to buy anything that'd guarantee a payoff. Which is a shame, really.
Beat.
"And will someone kill that anomalous corruption? It sounds anomalous, and anomalous things tend to be anomalies."
The overall corruption level essentially reduces everyone's HP by a static amount. If your HP gets reduced and matches the corruption level (so if you have 100 HP at 100 corruption), you get KO'd. In this case, the corruption level got past 150 (auyeungyat's HP). You have enough HP that you're safe from it for a while, though your infection is getting worse. The person at most risk now is Dooby.
Shoot! We don't have enough to buy Antigrave! Shhhhhhoooooot. I think we may have to retreat for now and fight this boss later. I reload and fire at will at the boss, running away in the process.
OOC: Also, new binary!
Outpost Defenders: Retribution will have individual player profiles, which track everyone's stats and accomplishments.
"Well, Engie, I'd love to kill the Anomalous thingy, buuuut the Embodiment will only be vulnerable for one more turn. We gotta hit it hard and fast while we can!. Also...you might wanna step back a bit."
With that in mind, I fire my assalt rifle at the Embodiment. Yes, you read that right. The Embodiment's already festering wounds are now searing with pain from the barrage of my supersonic salt slinging weapon. And, as any online gamer will tell you, salt attracts more salt, and the Embodiment is now completely covered in salt from head to toe, assuming it still has that kind of anatomy. It's trapped; it can't move or else the salt will dig in to its wounds; it can't breath or it will breath in pure salt. Then the salt spontaneously catches on fire, as exposure to corruption reverses its normally non-flammable state. While the salt no longer burns the Embodiment's wounds in terms of pain, it now literally burns them as the Embodiment is engulfed in a massive pillar of fire.
"Also, GET BACK HERE GOLD! Don't ditch us just yet, we have a fighting chance here!"
Sharpshooters seem pretty underpowered. Their pathetic health means that they can maybe get two shots off before they die. And their range-based abilities are useless in a game where range doesn't matter. They should have more abilities that focus on increasing damage output and taking less damage.
I turret suppress the embodiment.
You have a good point. But, at higher levels, sharpshooters will get a lot of high-damage abilities that basically turn them into the glass cannons I wanted them to be. For now, though, I think I'll make enemies less likely to target enemies that are further away, and induce accuracy penalties for firing at distant enemies.
Your turret reloads and suppresses the embodiment of corruption.

Lemme get that Embodiment...B O N E L E S S. Its bones disappear and it collapses to the ground helplessly, doing BONELESS damage. Or massive internal bleeding caused by lack of structural support, whatever works.

A young boy, alone, lies on the riverbank. On his back, he stares at the cloudless blue sky, the sun beating down on him. He is exhausted and covered in moisture from splashing around in the shallow part of the water, his chest heaves in between giggles of delight. Soon, a shadow looms over him. The boy smiles - it's his grandfather, standing over him. The grandfather had passed on many tales about this river to his grandchild. Those stories were the boy's favorite. With plenty of time left in the day, the old man offers to tell another story to the youngster since they have so much time on their hands. The child's eyes light up and he heartily agrees.
"You see, my boy, this here river is time itself. It is carried along by the Current of Causality, and the water is the world we know and love. By playing in the water the way you do, you have affected the lives of mil-"
The man is cut off as he and the boy panic and scramble for cover. A Nimitz-class aircraft carrier littered with enough junk to rival the Pacific Ocean sails past, somehow able to sneak up on them despite its massive size and utterly stealthless approach path. Atop the vessel and atop the mess, a lone soldier stands, wise beyond his years. He is a veteran of many battles, but his duty remains unfinished. He calls down to the grandfather.
"You shouldn't spew lies like that to the next generation, Gramps. It is, as the hip young folk say, 'uncool'."
And with that, he traverses a portal into the battle. With his superior battle sense, he quickly grasps the situation, and turns to the embodiment of corruption. Totally unarmed, he instead decides to deliver a crushing psychological blow, and, with a confident smirk, he points at the embodiment. A proud voice declares:
"You are already dead!"
The soldier falls to the floor, already dead, with a knife through his back. I stabbed him. That was me talking, not him, and yes, I was talking to him and not the embodiment. He hijacked my aircraft carrier some time ago, stealing most of my possessions in the process, and I've been looking to get back at him for it. Once I traced him here, he was easy enough to pick out among the crowd - he hadn't even picked a class yet!
Personal business with the redshirt settled, I turn my attention to the fate of humanity, properly outfitted as a Grenadier. With my superior battle sense, I quickly grasp the situation, and turn to the embodiment of corruption. Totally unarmed, I instead decide to deliver a crushing psychological blow, and, with a confident smirk, I point at the embodiment. My proud voice declares:
I look at FearTheKumquat. "Heh. Some people sure know how to make an entrance...come to think of it, how did I get here in the first place when I joined?"
I start to ponder this. It is a bit strange that as soon as I joined the squad, I somehow warped exactly where I needed to be at the right time. Curious, I set off on a journey to discover the truth about this strange and altogether pointless predicament. As soon as I leave, a dead cat falls from the sky and lands on the Embodiment's head. It's confused for a minute before remembering that old saying about cats and curiosity. Suddenly stricken with grief, the Embodiment bawls its eyes out for the dead cat, and decides to hold a funeral for the poor thing. It buys a casket and flowers, gathers the cat's friends and family, and even delivers a moving speech about the value of life and holds a prayer for the ill-fated feline. It goes smoothly, and as the furry corpse is lowered into the ground, every attendee there can't help but feel immense satisfaction.
Suddenly, the cat wakes up. Too late, the Embodiment remembers the rest of the saying, as the cat viciously attacks it for daring to touch it at all. The cat's relatives join in, confused but riled up. After they've had their fill of carnage, they leave, with the Embodiment on the ground covered in claw and bite marks, bleeding from several newly made orifices. At that moment, I return, having found the answer to my problem(something to do with nano-machines and microwave toasters), and see the Embodiment lying on the ground. I kick it for good measure, then backflip back to my cover spot, as if I'd never left at all.

It's been a while since I've seen you, Fear. Glad to have you back. You join as a level 8 grenadier.
The embodiment is currently immune to damage, so your psychological blow affects the blight, destroying it! +43 XP!
Since you're level 8, you get to pick a few abilities. You can pick any two of the following:
Sapper: Your grenades deal extra damage to the environment.
Shieldbreaker: Your weapon can destroy enemy armor.
Blast Padding: You take half damage from explosions and have 50 armor.
Suppress: Suppress an enemy, giving them -30 aim and giving you a free shot on them if they move.
One more thing. Since you were in the Outpost Defenders games, you can pick a few emblems to equip:
You can equip an alternate emblem set for your rank. Gold and Pricey currently have them equipped.
You can equip this emblem for playing Outpost Defenders 2.
You can equip this emblem for playing Outpost Defenders 1.
I look at FearTheKumquat. "Heh. Some people sure know how to make an entrance...come to think of it, how did I get here in the first place when I joined?"

Since the embodiment is currently immune, you attack a wretch instead, dealing 220 damage. +14 XP.
My action: I reload and fire at a wretch, finishing it off.
[Enemy turn]
The wretch terrifies Pricey, causing him to panic! In his panic, he reloads and fires at engie, dealing 155 damage.
The embodiment of corruption fires a darkness blast at ka_doink's turret, dealing 160 damage.
ka_doink's turret fires at the wretch, but misses.

Well, if the Wretch is dead, that would make the Embodiment vulnerable, right? If so, I shoot the h*ck out of the Embodiment, my pointless censor also bonking it in the head. If it's still invincible, I cook Gold a hearty meal to heal his wounds. That's totally how food works.

Let's roll with Shieldbreaker, Blast Padding, and the Outpost Defenders 1 emblem.
I give Pricey a shoulder massage and a rousing pep talk. Unfortunately, his heavy armor makes it really difficult for him to properly enjoy the shoulder massage, so I occasionally interrupt my pep talk to describe what he would be feeling if his armor wasn't there. Since it's the thought that counts, my actions heal him anyway.
Given that the corruption is kinda starting to spiral very out-of-control in terms of my infection, I don't really like what could happen to me at all, so I'll heal myself up by... erm... I dunno, trying to scrape out the infection with a crab claw or something? I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Oh, yeah, and I should probably also reload at the same time, aware that it'll stop me from moving away.

Hey! I'm Draco!
Please help my Pokemon grow: http://pfq.me/GoldHero101
I spray Engie with Lysol to slow the infection. Seems corrupted Auyeungyat would be killed just by Gold's MD alone.
If you've met TehEpicNinja9001, you've met me. Somehow lost the account's password and email. Maybe I'll try and get it back one day. Or maybe not.

I use my Necronomicon.
Complipedia
"You are already dead!"

You defeat the corrupted version of auyeungyat! +43 XP!
+80 health to engie. +10 XP.
400 damage to all enemies! This kills the reaver! +124 XP!
205 damage to wretch. +13 XP.
Corrupted auyeungyat was killed by Gold!
Reaver was killed by ka_doink!
Anomalous blight was killed by Fear and ka_doink!
Wretch was killed by Bio and ka_doink!

It's good to be back.
There's no kill like overkill.

I reload, chuck a poleaxe at the Embodiment, then enter "Y" into the Encrypted Datapad. Almost didn't notice that, but it might be useful.

I should probably post.
Given that the corruption is kinda starting to spiral very out-of-control in terms of my infection, I don't really like what could happen to me at all, so I'll heal myself up by... erm...
