I'll probably edit this post to talk about Double Rainboom after I talk about it, but for now, here's a picture of my Easter Eggs. They didn't turn out great, but the AJ one is pretty good.
Since Pinkie and Twi are my first and second favorites respectively, I would have liked to make the AJ egg my third favorite, instead of my fourth, but a Rarity egg would be pretty boring.
Hi! I've been busy moderating another forum, so I'll just post my (mostly positive!) thoughts on "double rainboom."
Story: Well paced, better than any FiM episode, and from such a simple and interesting idea! I was having fun! It was slow, but not TOO slow for my tastes. Characters: Twi was oh so slightly OOC, but only enough to bother a meanie stickler like myself. Everyone else was great and true to character. And they get details really down. Humor: Aaaand, it was HILARIOUS. The physical humor, specifically. The verbal jokes were great too, but the physical humor was getting me to laugh... when it wasn't ripping jokes straight from FiM. References are rarely funny to me, and straight up COPYING is inexcuseable. Moral: Oooh, this was doing so well, too. Then the moral came. It wasn't "pay attention to your friends," it was "stealing is bad." ... I'll have to tackle morals some day, suffice to say this is a lazy moral. Visuals: Okay, forget the "too much movement" animation issues and obvios problems when presented with something new. THEY FRICKING STOLE FOOTAGE STRAIGHT FROM THE SHOW. I'm NOT fine with being shown a LAZY sonic rainboom clip WHEN YOU ALREADY SHOWED YOU CAN MAKE ONE. And the WORST part is that they did it AFTER the art style change SO YOU CAN TELL. That completely knocked me out of it, because THAT is just LAZY.
Otherwise, eh. Other: They got okay voices. Twilight's was a bit off. Final thoughts: Outside that ONE thing that annoys me to no end, this is an extremely solid episode! Great simple story (not complex, no need to be), great humor! And that's what I came in expecting. I'll take that! Score: 7.5/10 (Great!)
There were no parts taken from the show. All of it was original animation, reviewed and critiqued by a large crew of people. There were absolutely zero assets taken from the show besides some visual references.
For a fan project, it was great. The animation was awesome, though not quite the "show accurate" we were promised. However, my big complaint with it was the pacing of individual shots and gags. For example, the big Derpy gag in the middle of Dash's flight totally screwed up the pacing, and there were some awkwardly long pauses between lines of dialogue. My other big problem was the story. There wasn't really one. At least not one about Rainbow Dash. She just kind of hangs around in Townsville until Deus Ex Machina. She didn't really solve any problem herself, which kind of makes for poor storytelling.
The ending with Bloo still made me smile, I was just a little disappointed with the storytelling.

After rewatching that scene (19:20) about five times comparing the original, I realized: no, it just look 99.9999% like the clip just sped up a little. I was able to put my mind at ease because the tail flapped slightly higher. Sorry about that. 6_9 genine case of not noticing the absolutely inane difference.

Ohai. I'm THAT guy. You know me.
Something something Fimgaming. Shameless Z. Plug out.
Bird Cat: is it okay if i can ask both of you a question?
Meghan McCarthy: Depends on the question. If I answer it means u can. If I don't answer it means u can't.
Bird Cat: ok do you know if their is an episode that talks about disabilities?
Meghan McCarthy: Yes.
Glad I can give my input on this, she said she knows whether or not there will be an episode on disabilities. She also knows whether or not there will be an episode where the mane six all go on a rampage and kill the dinosaurs, it's a cryptic answer and unless done well and avoiding Derpy, it may never happen.
As for Sonic Rainboom, I'm not desperate enough yet to watch it, based on some of the reviews I saw of it on other forums. I was never really excited for it in the first place so I guess I wouldn't really get disappointed if I watched it. Meh, I'll probably watch it at some point.
Happy Easter, folks! Let's start out with a small image-dump.
I begin with this one (instead of going straight to Tavi as usual) because, as you can tell if you have a working pair of eyes, it's glorious. First, it's realistic--messy and simple, as if this is how she's actually dressed (many humanizations look like a costume), it shows a lot of her personality in simple details, and on top of that she's not a flawless, gorgeous lady. She's even rather pug-nosed.
Also, she reminds me soo much of Background Pony. Anyway, the creator has other humanizations, but they're not quite as great.
Every time I post a ton of humanizations, I worry that I may get in trouble with the mods for some of them. Why does this fandom need to be so needlessly perverted, even when it's completely out of context? Keep the porn in one bin, please, and we'll keep everything else in another.
Btw BUY THIS GAME.
This one's a little short due to the Great Lost 100-Image Dump of a Few Weeks Ago. But hey, if you want goddamned fanart, get your own goddamned fanart.
Alright, other stuff... My sisters got me a vinyl Vinyl sticker when Hot Topic was having a buy-one-get-one and they were buying Doctor Who stuff. Here's me holding it up:
Problem?
I started watching Foster's Home again. I discovered that the episode "Bloo Done It," the one with Uncle Pockets, has a lot of similarities to Bridle Gossip. A character who always rhymes, who is suspected of misdeeds due to a chain of misunderstood events, and in the end is revealed to be more helpful than harmful. And don't forget that Faust worked on both Foster's and MLP.
Also, someone should make a cover of Weird Al's "Albuquerque," except as Appaloosa (because of the way Braeburn says it).
I probably have other news, but I can't remember it right now. Later.
Edit: Oh ja. Another pony reference from Romantically Apocalyptic.
Really, dealing with any kind of physical disability it's going to ultimately having sad undertones. Scootaloo just so happens to be the pony who is known to be physically disabled, considering she hasn't flew in any significant respects.
The only way it'd go more depressing if the writers straight up wrote in she was an orphan in the same episode as well.
Damn MBM, that's not a "small" image dump. (Twas cute though.)
Welp, considering Scootaloo's super big dream is to fly, then suddenly hearing she's never going to be able to, could be very crushing. Especially on a filly. I'm just saying.
Though I would imagine, if it's an episode about her not be able to fly, ever. Then I would say Twilight or RD or anywho would try to do something about that. I don't know, perhaps build some mechanic wings, who knows.
And the orphan thing? That would be indeed more depressing. But I highly doubt it. We have yet to see the rest of the mane 6's family, so.
An episode about Scoots not being able to fly, despite her physical disability doesn't have to necessarily be about crushing her dreams given the formula of the show.
Oops... Forgot to put my input on Double Rainboom...
I'll admit, I DID laugh at some parts, but to be honest it wasn't as entertaining as I thought it would. If I had to place it on a Top 10 list of fanmade episodes, it'd probably be 3rd, Dr. Whooves & Assistant being 2nd while Snowdrop being 1st.
Sure, Derpy/Ditzy Doo and Scootaloo are obvious choices, but for some reason I feel like they'll introduce some new character that'll teach everyponyone to be happy with what you have, to not take anything for granted. Not sure how that would be shown, but it's just a thought of mine.
Welp, considering Scootaloo's super big dream is to fly, then suddenly hearing she's never going to be able to, could be very crushing. Especially on a filly. I'm just saying.
1. She never stated her dream was to fly, or that it even involved flying. She's mentioned "going fast," and she's mentioned "being like Rainbow Dash," but it's never been said that she wanted to fly.
2. She doesn't have to be told; she already knows. Far as we can tell, it's even common knowledge. Obviously she knows she can't fly, because she doesn't fly. Not to mention her recurring nicknames involving flightless birds ("chicken," "dodo").
P.S. An episode about disabilities wouldn't, or at least shouldn't, include a magical or mechanical fix for it. Some people just don't ever walk and live their lives in a wheelchair. Some people just have one arm and can't do anything about it. If Twilight magicks up mechanical wings, that defeats the purpose. There are harsh truths in the world sometimes.
Season 4 has to have the Cutie Mark Crusaders get their cutie marks.
I can see that happening so that Hasbro can make everyone buy the new toys with their cutie marks on them. That's all that matters, after all; they should dye Fluttershy's hair, too, and have Spike permanently grow out his mustache.
Anybody else glad to get back to only 1 image per post? I know I am.
I suppose is something that is bound to happen, eventually. Anyways i suppose that a dissability episode for MLP should be focused in overcoming you physical limitations. It is true that sometimes you have to settle with what you have and make the best with it. But that is a little too much for a show like MLP.
And mechanical/magical solutions should really not appear in such episode. but support form friends and family to overcome problem is a must. IMO.
By the way no matter how unespecific Scoots dreams are. I think it is safe to assume that she wants to fly.
I think that at some point having the CMC discovering their special talent is something we all expepct to see before the show ends. But if the show airs for enought time we may even see them as adults. You know fast fowarding stuff is a great way to refresh the plot. And a much beteer way to get a new line of toys without expending too much...
I stumbled with the next issue of the MLP official comic. I think is the fifth (Yup, i do not read them...) http://www.mediafire...fj70t07tgivb1dt

Although, if something like this was pulled it'd imply someone has money, and therefore be rendered unrelatable to a large number of the potential viewership and solve nothing.
To that effect, I do imagine the end-lesson would most likely be learning to live to your fullest extent with that disability, if not better than you would in an area if you were fully able at it.
And now some art I finished:
"Aristrotal, in his book of Rhetoric, showeth thy cause why youth is more bolth, and contrariwise old age more fearful: for unto thine youth, stallions lack experience which is cause for great boldness, and to the other, experience of many griefs engendereth fear and doubting. Then if there by anything in thine world that should be taken in hand with fear and doubting, yea, that ought by all manner of means to be fled, to be withstood with prayer, and to be cleanly avoided. Verily it is war: than which nothing is either more wicked, or more wretched, or that more farther destroyeth, or that never hand cleaveth sorer so, or doth more hurt, or is more horrible, and briefly to speak, nothing doth worse become ponykind (Thine will not say a Celestian pony) than war." http://aaronmk.deviantart.com/art/Erasmare-van-Trotterdam-362795364?q=gallery:aaronmk&qo=0
By the way no matter how unespecific Scoots dreams are. I think it is safe to assume that she wants to fly.
She might like to. I'd also like to fly under my own power, but it's not my dream because I've accepted the fact that it's unlikely. Scootaloo seems fine on her scooter, and has never expressed unfulfilled dreams to fly, so there's no reason to assume that's her goal.
Although, if something like this was pulled it'd imply someone has money, and therefore be rendered unrelatable to a large number of the potential viewership and solve nothing.
You answered yourself; when I said "some people," I meant people who didn't have millions of dollars to spend on experimental prosthetics.
Anyway, I think you folks are right about the moral; it'll probably be more about being the best you can be considering your limitations, not overcoming the insurmountable.

As I browse the lolwut-ness of EqD, I find this (for those who think it's the same video as the one I posted a long while back, it DOES use the same song and a bit of the awkward dancing Octavia, but there's rap):
Those first two actually just prove the point more. Her wanting to be exactly like RD; soaring through the sky; at super high speeds. Wanting to be a great aviator. She's sick and tired of everyone calling her those names. If she can fly, she could get all that stuff and get rid of the names. So yeah, it would be kinda crushing to hear she'd never be able to.
Not necessarily flying! My dream may be to be an author; that does not mean I want to be a poet. My dream may be to be like Walt Disney; that does not mean I want to be a workaholic or grow a mustache. If I was told I had no sense of rhyme and no hair follicles on my upper lip, I'd be just fine with that. You're grasping at straws.
Also, there's never been any indication that the names were anything more than friends teasing each other. I'm certain that if Loo had any real problem with them, Bloom and Belle would stop. Again, grasping at straws.
Besides, however depressing the fact may be to her (which it isn't necessarily), being told about it makes no difference if she already knows. And don't tell me she doesn't know; she obviously can't fly, and doesn't appear to be so unhinged that she's deluded that she can. If I had never stood up on my own in my entire life, then a doctor approached me and said "You'll never be able to walk," my response would be "Oh," if not "Well, yeah." I wouldn't say "But my lifelong dream is to win the 100-meter dash at the Summer Olympics!"
Edit:
At some point I'll have to drive down near my old house and get a picture of Octavia Drive for you folks. Because it's totally near my old house.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention this. Pretty sure I called it, really early on. As in, before S2, I said something about "Build-A-Bear should/will do MLP toys soon." Then again, I may be making that up.
Well ofcourse "I'm drawing straws", we don't know anything. It just seems the most logical to me that that is her dream, and get she wants to get rid of the names.
Considering the episode "The Show Stoppers" hinted something of her cutie mark having to do something with stunting; her flying around and doing tricks gives me that idea.
And I don't think she does know that. And she always keeps trying to fly, and she always fails, yet she keeps believing she can fly at one point. Atleast, that's how I always saw it.
Not drawing straws. Grasping at straws. You're looking for any tiny excuse you can find to support your case when there's really nothing to keep you afloat.
It doesn't seem logical. It seems the opposite, really. You're just dead-set and don't want to give up on your headcanon.
Humans do stunt work and can't fly. But forget that, her talent could be anything physical and having to do with speed. The most common idea is it'll relate to her scooter. There's never any hint that it has to be flight.
She's never tried to fly. She's used her wings to power her scooter, and has used her wings to assist in jumping and to propel herself/hover slightly above the ground, but she's never tried to use them to actually fly. I suppose you could say when she fell in Ponyville Confidential, but that was purely instinct.
Come on. Pound Cake flew at a month old. If that's when foals are supposed to start flying, and Scootaloo still can't fly, then she must either realize something's up or be mentally unstable and in serious denial/delusion.
