Homestuck is crappy webcomic where a person sits in his room.
Oh, great.
You again?
How many times must I tell you to stop insulting Homestuck? It's a great Webcomic with an awesome storyline! And I'm not in the mood right now to start telling you about it!

Good day to you, sir.
/post that is not contributing to the actual topic but rather posting a very large .gif.
On topic again I think Gaia might have some sci-fi comics stuck up there too. Also, are you offended easily? Then don't open this spoiler.
So mods, I put a warning. You gotta give me that, right?
Homestuck! The wonderful Microcrap paint adventure! Comes with : 30 pointless minutes of a person collecting junk from his room that you probably will never get past from the boringness, 5,000,000 fanboys yelling at you when you get bored of it, annoyingly large pictures and gifs made by fanboys and a horrible community!

Its not your personality who makes you who you are, its your DNA.
Homestuck I'd say can safely fit into the Sci-Fi genre. What with the Space and the super-technology and whatnot. If you can power through the dull bit at the beginning it's a great read.
(Down here's just a little commentary on the unprovoked hating that's been going on. If you don't care, don't read.)

Okay, this qualifies as being a ****. While the gif was over the top, there is never a legitimate reason to bash another persnon's interests just because you have an issue with it. (Unless it's a cult or drugs or something dangerous. Also it's not actually made in MS paint. The author stopped that after his first adventure, Jailbreak. Which wasn't made completely in MS paint either.
Well, if you also want one that is absolutely hilarious, and bashes Mary Sue characters, try both of these:
-Ensign Sue must die!
-Ensign 2: The Wrath of Sue

Most mainstream things are not that good.
Keyword >mainstream.
I'd say Homestuck is pretty non-mainstream. (And what's going on with that first sentence? Is it supposed to make no sense or are you failing at being a troll?)
OT; If you consider RPG (like Runescape) genre sci-fi there's also Order of the Stick. That's a pretty good one as well.

Nobody knows about MS paint adventures or homestuck! You never ever see a thread about them! Not mainstream AT ALL!/sarcasm
Lemme fix that for you.
Homestuck is crappy webcomic where a person sits in his room.
OT I think the Starbound Newsletter or whatever contains some short comics.

I don't know that much about the Steam Punk Genre.
If it is, I can recommend Girl Genius. It's Steam Punkish, but it's extremely well done.

You stay out of this if you're not going to suggest something.
