Having nothing better to do, I watched an episode of a modern Cartoon Network show yesterday (Almost Naked Animals [*Shudder*]).
It seems that the protagonist is portrayed in a way that the show is actively making him look like a pathetic loser who is not only stupid, but also incredibly annoying to everyone around him and a complete failure.
These are the characters children are supposed to identify with.
I died on the inside.
Honestly, I think Almost naked Animals is one of the worse modern CN shows.I happen to be fairly fond of Regular Show and Adventure Time.

Regular Show and Adventure Time are exceptions to the general stupidity of Cartoon Network.

I remember the old cartoon network vaguely. I was about 3 years old, so the memories are a bit fuzzy. I remember shows like T&J and Loony Toons. And the transitions would basically be a solid color with white text over it, saying what show was coming next and maybe some news about the channel itself. Kinda like Adult Swim's transitions.

Cartoon network seems like adult swim without words like F*** and no sexual stuff.
Well...considering no f-bombs have been dropped in Adult Swim without any kind of censorship, it's not big a deal. Any other content or words, I can't say the same.
However, I have heard an "ass" from MAD TV, and Mordecai and Rigby (I don't know how I remembered those names) said "****" a couple times.

I dunno, that sounds like spongebob to me.

Maybe producers are sending out these really stupid kids' shows so that the older generation will move on to more sophisticated things. Just a thought.
For almost any cartoon the punchline is someone getting hurt, or doing something stupid which makes people laugh. Like someone said, spongebob was great for the first few season, but now it's just usual nick crap. Avatar: The Last Airbender was the last good Nick cartoon IMO.
The protagonists are portrayed as Loud, annoying idiots.
And what are the shows teaching? Like My Little Pony every episode has a moral, and IT STILL ROCKS. It doesn't shove it down your throat. But it's still there. The humor is more subtle than people just getting hurt. And I'm not going to even say anything about actual like-able characters.
Maybe the reason is the whole taboo on anything feminine of things. I mean, it's good for girls to like sport and guy stuff, but a guy wears pink and he's gay (ok, not that dramatic but still...). Girls will watch boy show, but boys won't watch girl show, so the companies have to pander to their audience. (Look at power puff girls, soooo girly, but one of the best cartoons ever. And My Little Pony, 'nuff said.) Except for they go too far and just.... argh.
Reading this, some of what I say is jumbled, I wanted to contribute to this. So yeah. At least we have My Little Pony.
I'm still relatively young and I remembered when they changed the Teletubbies from the old version to the new one, that's when it started. When I stopped really liking kids shows, even though I was still 5. Remember when they changed Bananas in Pajamas recently, it's animated now which looks terrible.

Talent didn't go anywhere, it just gets lost in all the noise. You have to find it.
Cartoon network is going DOWNHILL so maby if we stop watching it they might get out of buisness and have no chance but bring back the old shows and not giveing shows that is like when you are high!
Kids shows are generally getting more stupid because of the sudden bursts of songs (only exceptionable if they're catchy) in an episode or of the predictable, repetitive storyline in each episode or for advertising. What makes a cartoon good is it's overall plotline. If it has too many filler episodes, then adults would stop watching the show altogether.
There is a socialist agenda .. and we need to keep the future generations dumbed down. I mean if people started thinking for themselves and thinking more creatively outside the box - so to speak, there would be no "worker bees" .
Well, there are still good shows like Steven Universe, Adventure Time (Cried when it came back, so happy), MLP is pretty good actually, etc, and also, whatever Disney might stick in Gravity Fall's place (Crossing my fingers for Over The Garden Wall, or related!!!!)
There's still hope.
But yeah, RIP Nickelodeon, and.... Teen TItans.... *VIOLENT CRYING*
SERIOUSLY, WHAT DID THEY DO TO TEEN TITANS?
HOW DID THEY GO FROM THIS:
TO... TO...TOOOOO...
SERIOUSLY, WHYYYYYYYYYY
But yeah, there's still hope. Just... aughh..
At least the Powerpuff Girls reboot doesn't look half bad
Actually, they didn't change much at all. Wonderful!
I used to watch all these cartoons that you did. It was truly a wonderful time. I don't know why this happened, maybe the all the good writers have passed away and did not teach the future generations their ticks and trips.
Truly sad indeed..

No.
Looks an awful lot like Wallace and Grommit (I hope I spelled that right) in terms of animation.
Same makers?

Seriously, there is NO creativity.
