Hi, for the past several months I have been using a Sennheiser pc 350 headset for my Minecraft/Youtube recordings. I am noticing a lot of background static, which is strange for such a high end mic. I also have issues with a VERY low input volume, having to have the volume ALL the way up on mic settings to hear it well, also increasing the amount of static I get. My motherboard is an ASUS MAXIMUS GENE VI, a very high end mobo. Do I need a new sound card? If so, it needs to be under $50.
PLZ HELP
First thing to do is try another mic. That way you can see if it's the mic or sound card.
I have tried using a mic and another headset and they all are still staticky. I was looking at a creative sound blaster audigy SE for a sound card also.

Why in holy hell do you have a Maximus VI Gene?
Why wouldnt i have that mobo?
Complete and utter waste of money. Plus I have no idea why you went with a micro-ATX motherboard presumably in an ATX case.
