Hello everyone I got my gaming laptop yesterday and it is running Minecraft at around 1-60 frames.
Here are my specs:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ
Mobile Processor 2.80 GHz 6M Smart Cache, Max Turbo Freq. 3.80 GHz
16GB Ram (8GBx2) DDR3-1866 SODIMM Memory
1 TB 7200RPM SATA300 Hard Drive
VIDEO: NVIDIA GTX 860M 2GB
I asked most companies how Minecraft is supposed to run with these specs and they said around 100+ but my laptop is not. I put optifine, made the program a top priority, my friends has a laptop with similar specs and runs 100+ on full settings. Thank you.
1TB is enough I don't need to upgrade my ram a do will do that what should I change my frame rate limit to?Guys, my laptop has 16GB of ram not 2GB. Also I will turn of Vsync and remove all those applications while playing it should be running fine with those on anyways. Also if I dedicate 4GB of ram will it run faster?
Go to the video settings and set the FPS limit to 'Unlimited'.
Windows only stuffs:
Afterwards, right click the taskbar(The bar on the bottom of the screen...) and select Task Manager.
Go to details and right click the jvaw.exe programs in the listing and set priority to realtime or high.
The last trick I know is to make sure your computer is set to max performance over battery life.

Okay I will try that, do I have a good gaming laptop? Lots of people and companies said it was great for Minecraft but it doesn't seem like it.
How do I switch it to NVIDIA? Do I do this through Minecraft?
You should be able to do it in either the Nvidia control panel or if you have one a switchable graphics control panel. Not sure if you laptop has switchable graphics though.
If you are having the same issue I did I can help. When you go to start minecraft, highlight it and right click. Once again. If you are having the same problem I did, all you have to do is hover over "Run with graphics processor" and click the NVIDIA one, hope this helps.

- Close V Sync
- Close all other applications.
- Upgrade your RAM, a gaming laptop shouldn't have only 2 GB in my opinion

Yes that's correct, I have 16GB Ram and 2GB in my Videocard which is excellent in my opinion. Okay so I shouldn't dedicate any ram?

Unless the game is crashing because of running out of memory, no.
It's good. I don't get why you're complaining about 60FPS, that's all your laptop's screen can display so higher would be useless.
Because sometimes it lags
Does your laptop have switchable graphics between the Intel and Nvidia GPUs? If it does, make sure that Minecraft is set to use the Nvidia GPU.

allocating more ram wont do anything towards your performance unless you have mods installed.
