Recently my computer has been making an odd 'squeak' and I have no idea where it is coming from, no wires seems to be touching any fans and everything is firmly inserted.
Any ideas what it could be, it's driving me up the wall.
If it's a fan then the sound won't necessarily be constant, assuming you have at least one fan in your system that is managed by the BIOS (for example, your CPU fan). It's rather hard to diagnose without a more accurate description (or recording) of the noise though. Try opening-up the case and seeing if you can pinpoint where it's coming from.
Only one of my fans is controlled which is my GPU fan, others are connected by moxlex and my cpu's are by 3 pin headers.
I couldn't really pin point it exactly, it was towards the bottom of the case.
They can still be voltage-controlled by your motherboard. Unless you mean you're using three-pin fans on a four-pin fan header, in which case many motherboards can't control the speed (although some allow you to select between 3-pin and PWM in the BIOS). Worth checking the BIOS settings anyway.
3 pin in a 4 pin, I don't think they're being controlled by the motherboard since I hear no difference when the CPU is under load.
Then again they are dusty and need a clean.
Edit:If it's a fan it more than likely my GPU fan or my hard drive, the sound has stopped now it seems anyway.

It could be, but I have moved the case around a bit and heard nothing.
I would maybe even say it sounds a little like arching electric, I really hope it isn't.
Sort of t-t-t-t like pattern very quickly.
Yeah I might actually be it, I've left it alone for 5 minutes and hasn't made the sound until I started using the computer again.
I've been needing a good excuse to order a new drive anyway, not looking forward to reinstalling windows all over again.
I was lucky I got a computer that worked, I really should of made a thread here.
Here's to spending £56.
Wouldn't I be able to hear it constantly if it was? It's a intermittent sound.
I'll wait for Fm's opinion on this.

3pins aren't controlled, the third pin is for measuring speed. These things are at 2000RPM permanently.
