Hello everyone!
I just put in basically $2,000(USD) to build my own custom computer.
Before this, my desktop(2004 Dell XPS 400 <-- LOLOL) couldn't handle minecraft at ALL.
Here are the new parts in my PC(I'm picking it up tomorrow from Geeksquad(they assembled it)).
By the way, don't have geek squad assemble it, bring the parts to some small computer store and see if they will hook it up. Or google up an IT to do the install. Geek squad are over-paid ITs that do what I do for unreasonably high costs.

All you really need to have minecraft run fine is almost ANY low to mid range GPU. The majority of people who can't run Minecraft on high are the ones with Intel integrated graphics.
RAM: You wasted money. You don't need more than 4 for any game on the market right now.
GPU: Its fine.
Mobo: $255 for a mobo? Huge waste. You could get a comparable one for $150.
PSU: Waste of money and unnecessary. You only need 500W for that build. I would recommend a 650-700W though in case you decide to upgrade.
CPU: Good.
Case: I don't like it. Its too "loud" for my taste but if you like it, it's fine.
HDD: Seagate is no good.
OD: Whatever
OS: You aren't going to have to worry about MC running slowly. If you really poured this much money into a computer for Minecraft, I feel bad for you. But yes, run it in Windows 7 mode.
I probably came off as a **** but reading this made me angry for some reason.
EDIT: I see that you only want this for Minecraft. If you are willing to wait a few minutes, Ill put together a $600 build that will run MC and most other games on max.

I'm just asking to know how well minecraft will run.
Not to sound stuck up, but money is not a problem whatsoever. So I don't mind if I over paid.
Get an NZXT Phantom. A lot roomier and nicer for all that you'll ever need :smile.gif:
The fact of Windows 7 running in XP won't do crap for performance, will actually make it run slightly slower, since it's running in compatibility mode, I think.
HSF: There are better out there, but it's not terrible.
RAM: overkill. You do not need more than 4 or 6 GB, 8 if you're a heavy multitasker. Unused RAM is wasted money, and too much unused RAM will lower performance. Get 4GB and add more later if you really need to, chances are you won't.
PSU: overkill. You only need 600w, maybe 650-700.
mobo: too expensive.
GPU: that GPU is sold out and based on old tech, get a 560Ti
Case: meh
Case fans: BE SURE TO GET BLUE ONES TO COOL IT DOWN CUZ THE RED ONES MAKE IT GO FASTER!!!11!!!1!11!1 (you don't need LED fans)
HDD: Seagate is no good.
This depends on what drive.
If it's a barracuda, it's a good drive. Anything else and it's crap.
How can you waste all that money just to run Minecraft and not even have a second thought? Please tell me you are paying for that computer and your parents didn't just pay for it. I'm fine with you wasting your own money, but if you are making your parents waste money then you had better hope they don't decide to stop when college comes around to swallow your wallet.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

I'm so tired of people saying things like this.
I'm asking about the hardware I bought.
If it's my parents money, it's my parent's money.
They buy me what I like because I perform well in school, and in sports.
If you'd like me to start going on and on about the certain amount of wealth in my family, feel free to ask.
Otherwise, just state what my parts will do and stop complaining about money -___-

I don't think that anyone really cares that you have the means to buy this computer. I think the issue is your blatant disregard for price altogether.
Your question has pretty much been answered though. Go with my earlier response and combine it with fm87's.

P.s. I don't know what it really takes to run minecraft very well, so please no hating or sarcasm ><.
I'm new to this o:.
P.s.s. The only thing I'll be doing on this computer, is playing minecraft.
I mean - It'll get you .5 FPS. (jk)
By the way, don't have geek squad assemble it, bring the parts to some small computer store and see if they will hook it up. Or google up an IT to do the install. Geek squad are over-paid ITs that do what I do for unreasonably high costs.
If you're a small map maker, send me a PM and if it's good enough I'll advertise it in my sig.
Oh, and Game Booster xD
Clean your components. I replaced my GPU fan and got an additional 30fps, bringing me to 90ish on servers.
$150. :biggrin.gif:
Way Overkill.
I get about 100 on max, 60 while recording on 60FPS.
Cooler: I don't know much about coolers.
RAM: You wasted money. You don't need more than 4 for any game on the market right now.
GPU: Its fine.

Graphics card doesn't really matter for MC. I get 50fps on max settings with onboard video.
I'm just asking to know how well minecraft will run.
Not to sound stuck up, but money is not a problem whatsoever. So I don't mind if I over paid.
Buy Crysis 2 or something and get your money's worth at least.
You actually paid (what I imagine to be) $1500+ for a computer and you only plan to play MC? And you don't feel bad that you could have saved $1000?
The only thing that other 1000 would go to would probably be clothes or shoes. So not really ><.
I don't mean to prod but may I ask how old you are?
15. LOLOL. And I'm a dude. I just like fashion, no homo.
The 560 is a rebranded 460, which makes it crap, get a 560Ti, which is better performance, no doubt.
The HSF could be a Thermaltake Frio, which is A LOT nicer than that Zalman.
Save some money on the motherboard, since it's mostly buffer for what you're going to use. If you want an RoG board THAT badly, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131759

Actually, you won't get that much, but still, it's great.
