This was the email I got after I explained to someone on craigslist that his computer packed with an A8 APU, 1333 memory, and a 160GB isn't worth the $900 he's claiming it to be.
I'd like to clean your confusion up on all the matters you discussed individually, if I may:
By contacting me with your pathetic investigation into the worth of my computer parts and insulting me for the language of my post, I have to assume you're either 1.) Trying to coerce me to lower the price on the PC or 2.) Just being a jerk and trying to prove your knowledge of computers is superior.
In regards to 1.): You're a total idiot.
For starters, 1333 MHz does not result in any significant performance drop when using an APU. Google it. Secondly, my hard drive is all I needed for what I used the PC for. The case is clearly expandable if one would like to add additional space, as you would know if you actually knew anything about building computers. Going off of that point, adding a dedicated GPU to an APU is stupid, as the integrated graphics on the A8 is far more powerful than the 7870. To to sum it up, you have not the slightest idea what you are talking about.
As far as 2.) is concerned:
I listed the full names of my computer parts so prospective buyers were able to look up the worth of the components themselves and judge the value of the post accordingly (as you so clearly did). If they don't feel the product is worth the purchase, I'm not angry at them for not choosing to buy it. Of course the components are at a lower price now than they were before, that's how a free market stays competitive. Add in the fact that I built this computer myself, saving the purchaser of each individual item the price of building the whole set, and it's not far off to claim this PC is a $900 value.
As proof, someone has already bought the computer in fact. We just finished arranging pickup. Unlike the ignorant self you proved to be when you sent me your previous email, my buyer understands the value he is getting for a PC $100 under it's individual-piece price point AND pre-built. Just in case you need a clearer explanation: It means your entire effort to belittle my posting has been utterly useless.
Both of these points prove how masterfully you have failed at either of your two possible objectives. Your fervent scouring of the internet for proof to backup your complains was all for naught.
On that note, I don't ever want to read a word of your ignorance again. Please, do not bother replying to this, as you have been thoroughly discredited as a result of this ordeal and nothing you can say can change the reality of that situation.
oh please, where I live there are literally hundreds of PCs worth maybe a couple hundred bucks with people asking in the thousands.
For example:
AMD FX-8320 + GTX 960 for $850
Phenom II 955 + Radeon HD 4870 for $500 (claims he can play GTA 5 at high settings with no lag)
Intel i3 + R9 290X for $900 (says that this PC will destroy any PC under $2000)
one of the most awful deals I've seen in a while
FX-4100 + Radeon HD 6670 for $600 (claims he can run H1Z1, COD, and BF4 at High settings at 75 fps)
Athlon X4 750k + Radeon HD 7770 for $650
Another awful deal
FX-8370 + GTX 750 for $1250 (guy says he'll throw in a bunch of extra parts, like a crappy 400 watt PSU and some cheapo case)
Phenom ii x6 1100t + Radeon HD 6950 for $1000 (claims it can run any game at high settings at 60 fps)
AND the absolute worst ad I've ever seen:
AMD FX-4300 + Radeon 6670 for $1300 (the ad is just awful, the guy called the GPU a "nvidia radon 6670", the pics he posted of the computer shows that it is clogged with dust and has absolutely no cable management whatsoever, and the ad says the PC is in "like new condition", when you can see scratches all over the case"
Honestly, I don't even know why I bother. He said that it used to be worth $900. No APU build is worth $900 when you don't even have a 500GB HDD and the cheapest memory possible.
2.) Just being a jerk and trying to prove your knowledge of computers is superior.
Sounds like he was right about this one. Who goes around on Craigslist telling people they should change their price if they want to sell? are you to marketing insurance fairy?

Not saying that he should change his price, just the way he said things on the original post made it seem like it was some super ultra gaming machine. He said that the computer is worth $900, but was a bit more when he bought it (which is a lie), he also said it plays most, if not all games, on high at 60+ fps, which is also a lie.

When exactly did that become your business, though? You see it, see it was useless, and move on. You might say "But somebody else might get a bad deal" well, yeah. But you don't see many people doing that when they see a seller undervaluing something. No, in that case it's all fine. "Oh, you want 10 dollars for Little Samson on the NES? Yeah, I'll take that" When the seller overvalues what they are selling, it's an injustice, but when they undervalue it, suddenly it's an opportunity.

Pretty amazing that you can know how much they paid for it. You are making a colossal number of assumptions all just so you can justify messaging somebody who put up a craigslist listing. That you don't actually post what you messaged them/E-mailed them with to begin with is revealing.

And? Do you think if you say "That's a lie" He'll go "Oh! You caught me, now I will deal with everybody using fair prices going forward, and have recognized the error of my ways!" No. If his attempt is to scam people, he'll continue to do it. If it isn't either nobody will buy it, or somebody will.
The vast majority of people on things like Craigslist and Ebay do this, saying things like "supa fast i7 quad core at 4ghz for all ur gaeming neds!!111!1".

Both. Clearly has no idea what he's on about or is being deliberately misleading.

Also many times people price things high so either a. an idiot pays what they ask for b. they can be talked down to the price they actually want.
