Once upon a time I was a wired mouse supremacist. Now, screw that.
They are so damn prone to kinking and wear.
And I truly hate the fact that this happens. I LOVE the idea and feel of a braided cord. When I touch it, I feel the essence of quality. But use that for a few days and my tone changes real quick.
There are ways to help avoid wear and reduce kinking, but the problem will rear its head eventually. It always does.
So, I don't mind the extra ~1ms of lag, the next mouse I buy will be wireless. Ugh. Drives me crazy. Looking at kinks.
Then just get a wired mouse that doesn't have braided.
I personally love braided cables. Had vmoda kevlar cables for 1 month, no fraying. Had altec lansings for like 4 years. no fraying.
never had a braided mouse.
I've had numerous braided mice, always happens. Fraying, kinking, etc.
Rubber is nasty though.
I actually don't mind batteries. Most new wireless mice these days are rechargable. My prejudice towards wireless mice was from back in the day when you had to stick two double As in ever two months.
Many wireless mice have virtually no input lag at all. I know i have tried both the g700 and the g602.
no noticeable input lag at all.
Some can notice it. And that's not the only issue, they're much more expensive, eat up battery, and are heavy. On a regular desk there isn't any reason not to have a normal mouse.

My main issue with wireless is batteries.
Yeah, sure, fancy rechargeable wireless mouses, but $100+ for a mouse? No thanks brah.

Being heavy can be a good thing correct? I wouldn't want my mouse to be super light. That's why we have variable weight systems in mice.
About battery, that g602 is supposed to have 250 hours of battery life. In my current wireless mouse i haven't changed the battery ( non rechargeable ) in 4 months. I use it 4 hours a day.
PEBKAC, I've had two braided mice, none of them have this. And I've had them for one and two years.
Can be that, but it depends on desk setup, if you have the cord always getting dragged on a sharp corner i can imagine it will fray a lot. That was the main reason i needed a wireless mouse for my desk, the cord would always get stuck since it has to make like 3 turns to get to the mousepad. rubbing against many edges on the way.
I know a lot of "sensitive"/"pro" gamers dislike braided cables because they are less flexible and so prone to get caught on things. Sometimes even going to lengths of buying things like a Razer Bungee (that is if they wont simply get a mouse without a braided cable).
It is about the quality of wire, my corsair headset with braided cord has 0 kinks or looks any different then being brand new. My deathadder has had a few places where it is frayed a bit. It is a matter of quality not some inherent thing with braided wires.
That is your fault. I have the same mouse and the cable did not fray at all.
I don't do much with it. I just play games basically all day. I don't know how it's my fault but if playing games heavily is the problem I can't really stop.
I don't know how I would take care of a braided cable.
Well, a good start is giving it a bit of slack on top of your desk. Then you can move it around without it catching on the edge of the desk and fraying it.
Like what _Xiae said. You need extra slack on cord so it doesn't get frayed. All my mice are wired, but not braided. There great and I don't even ever run out of cord because 3 of them have 5 foot cables! Who doesn't need that much spare wire?

Go with the tried and true.

fm87!It really isn't that hard, a lot of of them fray over time.

If your mouse cable is wearing out like that in a short amount of time (a few years), you're not taking very good care of it.

Probably one of the biggest wastes of money I have ever seen.
At least 86% of what I say is always correct.
