Or I could just make and sell my own game, and actually earn something for my effort...
Hmmm....
This is just for interest and providing people like my-rpg loving-self with a FREE game so they don't have to spend X amount of $ to buy one. That probably won't be that good. AND since it's the internet, no refunds. With this, if you don't like, uninstall and never look at it again.
World of Warcraft took 7 years to develop from the original "warcraft 3 in first person" concept it started from.
And this was when the game only had 4 races, 3 classes, 10 spells per class, a level 30 cap, 12 total zones finished, 100 different mobs, and 100 quests total. No talents, no scripting, only 2-3 items per equipment slot, no map, very basic chat functions, no latency compensation, no mounts, and only a few towns in the zones.
If you have no coding experience, why even bother making a game?
What's the point?
And you're expecting to make an MMO for free? You're kidding me. You don't know how it works anyway.
The only way to have a "free MMO" for the users would be to constantly spam them with ads. There are some MMOs like Guild Wars where you only pay up front and don't have a monthly subscription, but that's a rare case. Even free games online are usually created with paid staff and they are reimbursed for their time with advertisement revenue or donations.
A fantasy MMORPG is one of THE hardest games to make and you are going in with no experience. I assure you, this venture will be for nothing. When it comes to programmers, there's a saying to live by: "If you are good at something, don't do it for free."

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
I don't think this has to be big, it doesn't necessary have to start of good. But if instead of telling him how its gonna fail, you had a little hope, offered to help out a little and have fun making it. Nothings funner then working on a project together.
MMORPGs don't just appear out of nowhere... And the servers you need to run them cost quite a bit...
Anyway, no one's going to help you unless they get something out of it. So first of all, you need to start off with some scripting language and work your way up to something like Java or C++ (even Python would do), then, and only then, can you start. Not on the RPG, but on some other small game. And then another small game, and another and another... Until you feel like you've got enough experience and expertise, as well as an idea of how you can make stuff happen, to make a game. Once this happens, EUREKA, you can now start your game. The time frame I would give this is between and 1.5 and 5 years to learn and fully understand programming and about half a year on top of that to get your game to alpha and then a year or two to get your game released, but not finished. It will probably never finish as you will keep adding things.
Edit: During the Alpha stage you should post your game on some forums and/or Patreon, see if people like it, and then put it on Steam and keep adding content. You should probably drop the MMO idea and just stick with a RPG, and maybe add in Multiplayer or something. Good Luck. PM me if you need help or more direction (Not with the actual game, just around what i've said)
So... this is done. ._.
Or I could just make and sell my own game, and actually earn something for my effort...
Hmmm....
Anyway this is just a "I have no programming skills but want to create the next big game" sort of thing.
Check out my game! It's an open-world, sandbox text adventure.

Once again that is why I am asking you guys to help me. Because I have no experience. I can model in 3d, and rig to a certain extent though.
One: Thank you
Two: Amazing signature.
Then allow me to help you save time. This isn't going to happen. As complex and difficult as you may think it is, it's not nearly that simple.

Keep that in mind.

It's not my fault
