Well, my first post attempting to raise money for this didn't go over so well with the moderators because, silly me, I used adf.ly with things that weren't original content. Honest mistake there, won't happen again. Instead this post will have original content AND non adf.ly links. Sorry for my prior infraction.
Anyway, same goes. I want to upgrade my computer blah blah blah i don't have money blah blah blah I'm using adf.ly as a pathetic attempt to get money. A truly pathetic attempt.
(You should click all the adf.ly links because they help me)
A minesweeper clone i programmed myself with SDL:
Adf.ly link: http://adf.ly/VPuup
non Adf.ly link: http://ge.tt/2m0T8bM
(I think you need 64 bit windows, and i know the mac version requires a minimum of 10.7)
And that's what i have for you. Comments on those downloads there would be nice. I do actually want to know if you like the FTL mod. I worked hard on it and i enjoy playing it. Also, if I ever get the motivation, I can make more star wars ships. The minesweeper is because i was bored. I have no plans to further it.
The bad boy you're after is a $40 metal box? Sure, it's the start of a great computer, but usually if you're "upgrading" your computer, you already have a case and just need to swap out a few parts, like the processor or RAM.
that's true, i do have a case, but it only supports micro atx. I also want a new motherboard, full atx size, hence the need for a new case
my case also isn't the best for ventilation right now. my ram gets above 70 C sometimes and i want the top fan, which is positioned right above the ram, to draw heat away from it
As to why it's here and not other places, I didn't really think about that part much, but it's too late now and don't think the mods would like a repost
+1 to your reputation for actually taking the time to provide input. i thank you.

If cooling is your main concern, and you're not interested in water cooling because like me you think "water + computer = bad", then this case: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811144275
Is fantastic... Okay, it was a horrendous pun.
It comes in other flavors as well. I ordered a red one, should be showing up some time today; I can let you know how it performs in a few days. There are complaints about the flimsy metal used in the one you were looking at, and this one is steel.
Of course not, it's a decent case. The entire point is that you save money to spend on other things. If you have the money to afford one with flashing LEDs and a snazzy side-window, go for it. I never really much cared for that stuff.
I do actually appreciate all the input i'm getting here. Believe it or not I have an even worse case right now. I wanted the top fan because it's positioned over the RAM which is where my main heating concern is right now. I have a water cooler for the processor, an H50, and it runs fantastically. It's cooling an FX 6100 o.c. to 3.8 GHz. My ram just has almost no air flow over it and heats up rapidly, it can get up to 70C range when running Battlefield 3 and I just want it running cooler. I want a bigger case because i wasn't thinking that well when i bought the first and now i want a full atx sized motherboard. As for graphics card, I'm running a GTX 660 ti. It's been good to me and I've got excellent graphics quality. No plans to upgrade that for quite a while. As far as bad cases go, I'm also of the opinion that if it get's the job done its good enough for me. I'd like top ventilation without breaking the bank. I also liked the look of this case and 3 fans ain't a bad deal, considering 3 fans can cost the same as the case. I'll look at all of your suggestions, nothing is set in stone. Thank you for the input.
+1 to everyone with a useful comment (i.e. didn't just bash another comment, was actually helpful)
To those who will now try to tell me to go with an intel processor: no. Like i said, without breaking the bank. Intel computers get expensive and AMD is plenty powerful. That's why i chose AMD in the first place.
I too have actually been looking to get a full ATX case myself for similar reasons.
I'm also sick of uneccisary fan LEDs and the like, and just want a plain case that works well, and reletively quietly.
My current one makes a lot of racket.
So far my favourite has been this with liquid cooling.
Dunno if that's what you're going for, but I certainly like it and am interested in seeing what else comes up in this thread about these cases.
That looks surprisingly nice, except for 2 details. It's size is a bit much for where I'll be putting it and it's cost. Other than that, very nice. I've also been looking at the Thermaltake V3 Black. It's currently on sale and I think it's a pretty nice case. It's not too busy in the front, looks real nice, and from what I've read, Thermaltake is a good brand.

Pfftt *snicker* hahahahahaha!
Recommending Apevia cases.
Can no longer take seriously.
Disregard this person, OP, they have no experience in this area.
I don't really have experience either, but I like the Thermaltake v3. I'm also looking in to a new motherboard and this one is what I'm looking at. What do you guys think? And what would you recommend? Less than $100 preferred, but i can be persuaded. AMD with an AM3+ socket is non negotiable.

Why are you running a CLC, or at the very minimum why are you running a CHEAP CLC? That would easily be outperformed by a Respire T40 (which could get a 6300 to 4.5 easy)
Because there was a ridiculous sale when I got it, it had decent reviews, and its holding my 6100 slightly above room temperature under a heavy load so I'm happy with it. I'll consider the T40 an upgrade option, but will probably stick the H50 for now. Your picture is beautiful by the way.
The pump itself actually isn't loud at all, the crappy fan the threw in with it is somewhat noisy, but it doesn't bother me. I live in a noisy neighborhood anyway. Like I said, the T40 might be an upgrade option, but I like this for now.
Have you had one leak on you or something? Or do you really just insist on hating everything I've done?

As for computers in general, you'll have more luck asking around the "Hardware Discussion" sub-forum (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum/208-hardware-discussion-support/) and for your gaming stuff, you'll get more clicks if you post is in the "General Gaming" sub-forum (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum/8-general-gaming/).

Bad case.
Bad case.
Get a Source 210/300R/Shinobi in rough order of ascending budget, OP.
Eh?
It does its job. Works for me.

Fanboys, what ya gonna do?
The case works fine, sturdy construction, plenty of airflow. Oh, I'm sorry, it's not a Corsair, forgive me oh god of the fanboys.
