I was going to buy this http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814202024 for my new gaming computer, everything else has already been purchased, but the video card went out of stock and is labeled as "discontinued"
Basically I need a video card of the same calibur (Radeon 1870+) for around the same price, (200-250$)
Proud member of the MCF AWA war of '13! if someone suggests Alienware or Cyberpower, wait for a custom-built list from someone who knows their stuff. Meh Rig

Whoever says it has to be that price? If you hunt the entire website, you could probably find one for $150 and almost or just as good. Not trying to be smartass.
Anyway, here's what I found (I went for 760, so I couldn't find one cheaper):

Instead of not getting that, he can get a bunch of $20 fans.
External fans won't help much if the GPU fan is garbage. which is what most blower fans are.

I thought it had only one fan? and how much better?
EDIT: Read some reviews, apparently it runs hot and loud.
I cant say because my main benchmarks site doesn't have the XT in the database, although there is a gain. As long as the cooler isn't a blower type or a single fan. looks for a Gigabyte's triforce, or any duel fan design should be good.

At least the garb blowers exhaust heat out of the case. Can't say the same for most coolers.

i5 4670k @ 4.9GHz - Stock Heatsink - The rest is melted silicon but I think I have a graphics card in there somewhere It surprises me how many people on this forum can't read benchmarks.
The 760 is better than the Radeon HD 7950 and 7870 Xt. I would go for it because it has CUDA as well. Unless you can find a 7950 for cheaper.
It's slightly below on unbiased games, but well above the 7870xt. CUDA doesn't really matter at all nowadays because Adobe (the last bastion of CUDA for many) has gone OpenCl as well.

Isn't OpenCL more powerful if utilized correctly aswell? I remember looking online to see if someone programs used OpenCL or CUDA and read something about Open CL running at 20% efficiency would beat CUDA running at 80% efficiency.
i don't know if its real, but i'm just saying it may be.

I couldn't tell. Both CUDA and OpenCL run at <1% efficiency on the programs I use them for (Vegas)
Screw Vegas, seriously. 3x render speedup my ass. Support wouldn't even help me reach the ing numbers they advertised even though I had the same setup and workload that they used to benchmark. They didn't even say "up to" in the ad material.

stupid question, but i'll ask anyways. Are you using Intel Quick Sync? IIRC that would be the quickest rendering way...

QS/HD4k acceleration actually slows down rendering. How they managed that is beyond me.

These two look good http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814202025, https://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=PC-787_2V3 but niether have as many Stream Processors as the one I was initially getting, and I've read those are very important for gaming. So what are some other ones that would work?
Any help would be appreciated.

Although a 760 or a 7950 would be a better card, if its the same price or less.
EDIT: and had a decent cooler
