4GB is fine for most games, but more memory intensive games would require more. 8GB is however, as stated above, recommended. You shouldnt need more then 8GB if all you do is game.
You'd need at least 8GB (2x4GB) or 16GB (2x8GB) with most games. Also, the more memory you have, the more Windows will like you and your HDD will take less of a pounding.

So if I get a 8gb 1866 and all I do is youtube, browse, and game mostly minecraft and cod, i will be fine?
Please keep this to one topic. You shouldn't need more than 8GB ever unless you know what RAM rendering is. 4GB is perfectly fine for budget builds

i5 4670k @ 4.9GHz - Stock Heatsink - The rest is melted silicon but I think I have a graphics card in there somewhere It surprises me how many people on this forum can't read benchmarks.

Just about perfect.
As Simba stated above, he's actually incorrect about needing 16gbs, I've heard stories of heavy, HEAVY RAM users never going above 8gb, much less 16. 16 gigs should really only be considered in builds 2500$+, where price no longer =/= performance

Was actually looking for the cheapest by comparing them all, would have given update, was just answering his question first.
Anyways, now that I think about it, it may, for an APU build, be better to have 4gb of RAM, but at like 2400MHz...
Someone else will have to answer that, I don't know much else so I'm not going to pretend like I do.
I didn't say he needed 16GB.. but for future-proofing, I would suggest it. Heck, I remember when people were saying I'd never utilize 1.5GB of RAM 12 years ago. HA!
As for Ghetto's comment, I'd do it only if the motherboard supports it.
So people use 1866mhz RAM for gaming?
I'm pretty sure most gamers only need 1600mhz, or even just 1333mhz....
As for amount of RAM, the minimum is generally 4GB but the sweet spot is usually 6-8GB

Don't know, don't post. iGPUs need the fastest RAM they can get.

As previously stated many times, 4GB is currently considered the bare minimum, and 8GB is recommended. If you only intend to use the PC for gaming, you probably won't even use all 8- well, currently, at least. I have 32GB of RAM in my system, and its really just overkill. I've never come even sightly close to using it all, so I consider it more of a future-proofing thing.
You can definitely get away with gaming on 4GB of RAM, but having 8GB is nice if you want to run other programs while you're playing or you're just playing a game that uses a fair amount of RAM.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

Is 2400 faster than 1866?

I seriously doubt you'll have even remotely the same computer in 12 years.
Idk if the motherboard supports that
