Both, I am a heavy gamer and a heavy internet user. Wireless gaming with a 1366 x 768 laptop just doesnt cut it for me.
I can probably get a mini router in my room for ethernet so it will be faster than wireless.
1. Take a look at this.
3. Seems good to me!
4. More open spaces are better, but it doesn't need to be on a pedestal in an empty room. Mine's under my desk.
5. Where do you live? I live in a pretty warm place on the east coast, so a water cooler is helpful. Other coolers can only get things so cool with hot air.

1. its a 650 ti boost not 650 ti.
2. you skipped 2
4. doesnt have to be enclosed but it would be more compact in my desk. i dont think it would fit anyway.
5. ooooh i live in florida so water cool yes?
Your build somewhat stinks. Get rid if your closed loop watercooler, it can leak, and air coolers are just as good. Don't get a 650 ti get something like a 7870 with the money you saved. Get a normal Barracuda hard drive, that thing is pretty overpriced. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand you have a locked motherboard with a unlocked CPU, great job, you almost bought a horrible build. Stop listening to those people they have no idea what they're talking about.
1. I'd never heard of a boost, my bad. Here.
2. Good point. Of the new two, I'd go with this one. It has more connectors and supports usb 3.0, always a nice feature.
3. You skipped 3, but that seems intentional.
5. I recommend it. My trips to Florida featured primarily sweat and my bathing suit.

Well, shoot. Looks like we've got a badass over here. He never said anything about overclocking. He never asked about the other bits, I planned on ignoring them until his questions were answered. The gpu, I'm not familiar with Radeon cards. I had one back in the 90s and it melted outright, bought a nvidia card and never went back. (Not trying to start a fanboy battle here, just justifying my ignorance.)
I think you could also do with a bit beefier PSU as well. Maybe around 500 watt.

OK that motherboard listed was never going to be the actual one. i just threw that in there because there was a chance it was good. i now have a new motherboard selected: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813157296
Tell me if you like it.
would you recommend a good fan or liquid cooler other than the one i selected? Bonefish recommended liquid because i live in florida.
i cant get a 7870 too pricey. i said in the beginning the build as is was too pricey already so money cuts will be made with no upgrade elsewhere. i will go with an amd card but i trust nvidia products and cuda will come useful to me as i am going to take drafting and design. Haha of course i will find a cheaper hard drive. my home has a 2 tb server so i dont need a big one.

500 watts is good enough, the reason they over estimate the wattage is because they don't want people having their PSU's blown up when they buy such a low wattaged PSU. He actually said something about overclocking, but asked "is it to OP?" and the reason I added a air cooler is because the one with the stock 6300 makes a lot of noise, and when he wants he can overclock a tiny bit. Either way, I'm trying to get what's best for his money right now.

The i5 is to pricey for your budget anyways. a liquid cooler will almost be the same as an air cooler. And no, do not keep it stuck in a little confined space. Keep it in the open. I know it gets hot in florida, but wasting 60 more dollars for something really unneeded is a waste of money. Plus, a chance for it to leak
Cool!
Just a few more questions lol.
Monitor is pricier ill stick with my small bezel one thanks.
Nice, didnt know cooler master made cases that cheap.
Cheap power supply and hd cool.
Ok is the 7870 faster than the 660?
if so, what is the best version of the 7870 there are so many.

7870 is indeed faster from what everyone else says. The best version of a 7870 is the 7870XT which is priced at 250$ and somewhat hard to find, you just need to look in the right place. Look at all the online retailers, if some have them, pick out which one is cheapest if you really want a better 7870
Proud member of the MCF AWA war of '13! if someone suggests Alienware or Cyberpower, wait for a custom-built list from someone who knows their stuff. Meh Rig
Hmmm it seems the 7870 xt versions run at slower clock speeds than this one: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814125418
but it the linked version has less stream processors.
its different chips so it doesn't count. Clock speeds only matter when dealing with the EXACT same chip(s). the 7870 XT is a differant chip than the 7870 so the clock speed is irrelevant.

HWCompare has nothing to do with real benchmarks.
They are just the specs of the card, which mean next to nothing.
In all most all real world benchmarks, the GTX 650 TI wins, while being less power hungry.

A few things are op and i can and will make compromises to make it cheaper. as you can see, some things like the os and dvd drive are not in there.
My questions:
1.Is the 650 ti boost good for 1080p gaming or is an amd card the way to go? I will probably not overclock the gpu.
2. Is the motherboard good?
3. Is the CPU too good are should i go for simila power amd 8350 and get a different mobo?
4. Can i put this pc in an enclosed space or is that bad for cooling?
5. FInally, the water cooler: is it a bit OP for someone that will not overclock much?
I can probably get a mini router in my room for ethernet so it will be faster than wireless.
