So if you haven't already heard, Microsoft had a Investors meeting about 2 weeks ago showing off what the 720 will probably be like.
Some of the specs:
1. An AMD 1.6GHz 8-Core processor
2. 8 GB of DDR3 RAM
3. 2 Launch versions; a 320 GB Arcade and a 500 GB Pro
4. A 1 TB (1,000 GB) HDD available
While most of these specs are likely to stay (in my opinion), they say their WON'T be a Blue-Ray DVD Drive.
Which I don't believe will stay.
What do you think the specs sheet will be and what could be added to this?
Also, Could this lead into bigger and greater things for the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft?
Like Mods, Texture Packs, Minecraft Xbox 360 Realms, and possibly more people in a world on Xbox Live (more slots than 8)?
I don't know much about tech specs and stuff. But like the guy in the vid said, 3x processing speed sounds a bit disapointing doesnt it?
Anyway I don't mind too much about better graphics, I just want more power in the sense like, take minecraft for example. You can only build so tall. I wanna be able to have alot more room. Or zombie games. I want alot more zombies able to be around. And a lot less unbreakable/unmoveable objects.
All i know is that, MS needs to pull out something special to make we want to buy both ps4 and the 720.
Ps4 got all that i want.. alot of good exclusives (hopefully getting a worthy sequal to Socom2), Minecraft, diablo +++ more coming, enough/most horsepower, goten rid of the awfull Move, and a system structure thats a dream for developers and gamers (thank god for that, after this awfull console generation with xbox360,ps3 and wii). Ps3s system structure and move ruined Zipper and Socom.
It would be a big mistake if M$ didn't incorporate blu-ray and bluetooth. Those two options as well as free online multiplayer is a big seller for the PS3 AND the PS4. M$ will not be able to compete if they can't at least offer some features that the PS3 and PS4 have. If M$ don't plan on adding blu-ray and bluetooth, I will most likely be switching to the PS4 and just keep my xbox 360 for Minecraft only and not even bother with the new xbox.

I agree with the Blu-ray and Bluetooth, it would be a epic fail on their part. As far as the online multiplayer goes, I can understand that it may not seem in your budget to afford it, but in the sense that Sony couldn't get PSN up for 3 weeks, and how XBL has almost never gone down. I would rather pay a $60 fee/subscription a year to play online (which isn't that much really, its like buying a new video game to play all your other video games).

I don't mind paying the online price. I've paid it for two years now and have had an O K experience. It hasn't always been the best service but because of the paid subscription you do get a few features exclusive to xbox but if I have to I can go "pony up" with PS.

I believe that Sony won't be able to make minecraft for the PS3. Microsoft bought exclusive rights to minecraft for the Xbox 360 when it came out. So that Sony can't develop and publish it.
Hmm, sound nice about the upgraded ram and more storage (more than enough for all my battlefield games plus others). Free online though.... don't get to hyped about that. Lol
um... i dont comprend why is soo important the damn bluray... for storage ? maybe, but actually they can make they own discs format just for storage, like te 1.2gb dreamcast cds. the blu rays are over rated, at least on the gaming industry, i dont buy a console for having or not X or Y disc, its for the games !!
and.. for minecraft means nothing a new generation of consoles, forget the idea of a "upgraded/patched" version of mcxbox, but MAYBE ! its more real a "new" version like.... MINECRAFT 720 !!! wooo... -.-u or something, but im sure, we have to pay, the game again XD

Lol at Minecraft 720, but here is the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray
Meh. As long as I can play my 360 games on the 720 I'll definitely be getting it, as I dont want a bunch of useless copies of every game I've gotten since the 360s release like what happened with half of my original xbox games.
YOUR OPINION ON THE XBOX 720 LEAK
God I just figured out how to keep my 360 from leaking, now this!? Not good news. When 360 was released I stayed with my PS2 for several years because of all the reported 360 leaks. And when I finally bought one, man was it ever a soggy mess. I had to replace the carpet in my living room...Twice. So think long and hard about purchasing another leaky gaming console my fellow gamers. Have you seen the price of carpeting lately?
I think I'll 100% buy an Xbox now that I know PS3 has a paid subscription like Xbox.
Apparently Sony were loosing millions every year.
If it doesn't have bluray then i suppose I'll just have to install the extra disk that will undoubtedly come with every Xbox game.
But those specs are average on a PC people forget what we are currently getting off the Xbox now and how optimised they can make a game when they know what it's running off.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.

I personally despise blu-ray, but then again I care more about speed and smooth gameplay than a pretty picture. Blu-ray makes sense for movies, but gaming... not so much. Blu-ray discs can hold more information, but a DVD can be read faster. Why do you think PS3 games run at a lower FPS than 360 games? Just yesterday I was over at my friend's house, experiencing frame drops while playing Borderlands 2 offline on his PS3. I have my own copy of Borderlands 2 for the 360 and haven't even seen noticeable frame drops while playing online. (Unless somebody has a terrible connection, of course.)

Blu-Ray is important because it can hold 10 times the amount of information a DVD can. There are already games on the Xbox that are multiple discs, where the PS3 version is just one disc because of the storage limitations of the DVD (Final Fantasy 13 (one disc on PS3), Forza 3, and Forza 4 to name a few). Bigger and better games will require more space to hold them, and if the next Xbox isn't using Blu-Ray or something on Blu-Ray's level, they're going to need to ship games with tons of discs instead of one.
this is for movies !! on data dont matter, is the hardware what makes the 720p/1080p.... i know the bluray have a lot of space but.. really. its like nintendo the wiiu disc have a 25gb per layer, i guess every company can make they own disc, to avoid pay to sony for use the blu ray disc

Until Microsoft says something official about their next console, I will not believe any "leaks".

^^^ This too.
The article isn't very reliable at all. It just says, "Some guy, whose name we cannot speak, told us some stuff."
