Industry standard is to use bits, not bytes. Ever heard of 10/100/1000/10000 Ethernet standards? Ever rented a dedi or a vps? Transit is sold in bits too, not bytes.
I'm aware of this, however, the general consumer is not.
So when they put text on the screen like "Up to 50MB per second!" (note: MB not Mb, even though the voiceover says bits) it's quite a bit misleading.
But that honestly isn't what I was mainly going about.
Do not get comcast. We had it and it took 8 hours to donwload 1 gb. We now have frontier fios and its so much better.
....... That has nothing to do with comcast or fios, that has to do with what tier of plan you paid for.
Even then, 8 hours to download 1GB? You had a problem with your connection, Comcast does not offer a 125Kbps service. Or you are exaggerating, which is what a lot of people seem to like to do on this forum.
