Hey guys. A while back, I asked about a computer build I was messing around with online but I never actually bought it. But now, I'm about to purchase this tonight, and I want to check in with you guys and see how it is. Are the parts good for each other? Are there better choices? I also wanna know about the i3 3220. Is it a better choice from the 2100? Btw, I feel like I only need a 500GB hard drive because I don't see myself going beyond that any time soon and that's all I really want to spend money on. I'm getting everything from Newegg and I want to keep the price around $700 from there. I also didn't include an optical drive because I already have one.
May I also add that I will be playing games like BF3, Borderlands 2, and Planetside 2.
Oh wow, I did not see that HDD before. I think I'll take that. I just checked and it's actually the same price. Thanks!
The reviews of that PSU are pretty good so I was convinced to get it.
I think I want to stick with Intel. I could always upgrade to a more powerful one and I know more about them. Would that be fine?
You're welcome to stick with Intel, but the build I chose can be overclocked and is more powerful overall for gaming. Not by a ton, but it's definitely there.
If you're more comfortable with the i3, that's a fine build. But keep in mind, lack of knowledge isn't an excuse not to learn quickly.
Happy building.
PSU's fine, I put one of those in my dad's rendering rig and it works great. It's also modular.
OP, something else I'd like to add is that you might look at NZXT and Bitfenix's budget range cases.
PSU is fine i know, but for a i3, and a 6850 would that be enough watts left on 12 volt to feed everything else. 550W, of which 500 is on 12V. May make it run at max load.

Ya, I think it went on sale today. Pre black Friday/November stuff.
Heck, you could just wait for all the sales that happen this month if you want to. You could get some good hardware for cheap, stretch your dollars further.

You're right about lack of knowledge not being an excuse But I'd be more comfortable with the i3. Also, it's my first build and I heard overclocking isn't all that complicated, but I'd rather keep it simple this first time. I appreciate your guys' help. I'm about to get this now.

Very well, you'll love your new computer. You really really will.
But also, Flutterwry is right that you are maxing out the 12v rail on the PSU. Talk to him about that though, I'm going to sleep.

Alright, good night.
A while ago I used Newegg's PSU calculator and it came up at about 4xx watts or something. Allow me to check with another calculator.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

No need really, let the current build be.
Just I am not sure on power supply.
Also you can get a 1TB HDD from newegg for 10 USD more. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822236339
Rest is fine.

Should outperform that build by a little bit, and it's cheaper. If you want to spend a bit more on something, I would very very highly recommend getting a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. This build would be great in overclocking, but you'll really need a good cooler.
Also, this is 6 cores. Be sure to verify with another member before you buy though.

Edit: Using http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/Power it came up with 310 watts. I'm not sure if you're still here, but I think this means the power supply is good.
