I have to deal with an EXTREMELY crappy computer((AND I MEAN IT!)) because my parents don't want to buy another one((And I don't think I will ever get a supercomputer real soon)). So, I guess the only method to have a good computer is to know my pathetic excuse of a computer better, so I can use it how it was supposed to be used.
This computer only haves 816 MB of RAM. Yes, I know. Very few. Hence why I said it's an EXTREMELY crappy computer. So, what's the maximum it can handle? It usually gives me big lag spikes whenever I try to play Team Fortress 2 with something else open, and it lags like hell whenever I have three Google Chrome windows open.
Without your full specifications it will be hard to say. But you did kind of answer your own question. Not even TF2 runs well on that machine. And considering you have less than 1GB of RAM I will safely say that the rest of the machine is not very up to date. I would recommend saving for a new computer if you want better gaming performance.
Tell the other specs or anything can't be said about the performance. If you don't know, install Speccy. A higher amount of RAM does not directly relate into better performance.
The RAM is very low, but that's not really what matters most. What CPU and graphics card does it have?
Edit: as jppk1 said, download Speccy and get a screenshot of what it says.
Luckily, I alterady have Speccy. Don't blame me for using Vista.
• Operating System
MS Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit SP1
• CPU
AMD Sempron 140 (78 °C)
Sargas 45nm Technology

But it said that TF2 requires just about 502MB of RAM in the official site...
EDIT: Yeah, it requires 1GB...but my father said that he would insert more RAM into my computer, so I guess it might make TF2 run smoother.
wow... those temperatures for your CPU do not look healthy....
(also, SCSI drive? what kind of machine is this?)
More so since that is most likely "idle" CPU temps. It is a cooking time machine.
SCSI, does not always mean it. Could be the mode it is emulating in honestly. I had a old SATA drive that was shown as a SCSI drive as well the DVD drive was also. Also to note it was the Nvidia 6150 chipset on the motherboard and was a Emachine computer.
Wow that CPU is warm. Anyway, it's probably not worth upgrading it, it even has DDR2 RAM. I'm not really an expert though.
No matter how hard I try, my father always uses his terribly overused "I wasted all of my money" excuse. And I think he is wasting his money on PURPOSE just to keep himself from buying a new computer. Because ever since we returned from our vacation((he wasted about $200 on that vacation)), he immediatly hired people to work on the house, therefore, more $2200((Yep, he literally wasted $2200 just before wasting about $200. And he's not even rich.)) thrown away. Yup, broke indeed.
You could build a computer that beats that by FAR for less than $500. That is a very, very warm pile of **** you have there.
If you could get $600 minimum (or preferably, closer to $800+), you could build a low-mid gaming rig that should play most games for a couple years. This also means that very simple things like word processing and Internet could still be done for closer to 5 years.
But now, for really ANYTHING, there's no point in using that.

I'm pretty sure hibernating would have nothing to do with it. I think hibernating uses no power.
But here's the catch: For the first weeks of September, I became lazy to even put it to hibernate, and all I did was to shut down the monitor, therefore, I got the computer on for atleast a week.

I agree. But heck, I can hardly make any money((I'm younger than you probably think, but not like 8 years old.)). My only money came from my parents, but then out of the blue they stopped giving me money, and then began using it to pay their own bills. I had $40, but now I have absolutely NOTHING. I was supposed to have about $60 on my wallet right now, but they suddently started stealing from me, and now I'm broke. And don't think about telling me to do those temporary jobs like lawn mowing, I live downtown, where there's hardly any temporary jobs. Atleast in my country. The only method of gaining money as of now is me selling stuff like candy and biscuits, but I don't want to look like those poor boys trying to sustain their own family. Besides, I'm one of those guys who simply stay home in their PCs. I hardly know my city. And it doesn't helps that I dont know how to build a computer.
I told my father that this computer is ancient. He seemed to know that, but when I asked him when he could buy a new computer, he said "After seven years". After five years I would most likely be on the army, and after seven, I'd probably have moved and would have my own job((or, I could be one of those hobos asking for money, and no way I could get a computer by being a hobo)), and most likely my own computer. But I hate waiting.
But, here's another catch: This computer is the second worst computer I have. The worst computer can hardly even handle TF2. It lags like hell, and the textures are all distorched, with random rainbows showing up, and the viewmodels crapping over the screen. The best computer can actually handle TF2, but it is my father's laptop, and he told me that I shouldn't download ANYTHING in it, save for two hiccups, wher he allowed me to download Super Mario 64 and Driver: San Francisco in it.
Super Mario 64 oddly was missing a few textures, while they were present in this computer I'm using. Driver: San Francisco is all crapped up((citizens, items, and far-away roads are pitch black, the game runs slow like hell, and it crashes whenever I ram at the pedestrians[[which prevents me from completing some missions where you have to break sign posts that are located RIGHT in the sidewalk, in the middle of pedestrians, with TIME LIMIT]])).
If the computer is that crappy NOW, in seven years it will basically be DOS...in other words, be completely incapable of doing anything at all that the modern world requires you to do.
(Anyway, building a computer is very easy. We've had a couple 11-year-olds do it, all you need is a screwdriver. Just ask and I can link you a very excellent tutorial - we can give you a list of the parts you need as long as you give us a budget)
I hate it when parents don't know anything about computers (like yours), think their computer will last forever (like yours), and aren't even open for information when you try to spill the truth (like yours). That's just bad parenting if you don't even consider the words coming from your child's mouth may be true.
Seriously, that computer is pushing the boundaries TODAY. In a year, it will be EXTREMELY obsolete. In two years, nobody in their right mind would want it. In three years, you might as well light it on fire for YouTube to watch. Any longer than that, you're insane.
dude how in the hell did my dad upgrade before you and hes broke as ****
he used to have a little bit better then you. it still sucked thoalso all hope is not lost you can still play counter-strike 1.6

No matter how right you think you are there will always be some one standing by to correct you.

But fact it shows RAID, is highly amusing.
As I expected. I really need a new computer.
I think it's a side-effect for me making it hibernate rather than shutting it down for like, 3 months. Yeah, I'm killing my computer. :l

Positively or Negatively?

Processer: intel(R) core i3 cpu M330 @2.13GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB.
os: windows 7 64 bit
What a really straight forward and specific question...
You could probably buy an extra gigabyte of memory, but I'm betting it won't do much. Your CPU's REALLY hot, too.
May as well get a new rig.
