Well if you want a good experience with music but not so much with the gaming side i'd recommend the Shure SRH440 and just get a mic if you need one but you would need a sound card to get the best sound out of them. But if not i wouldnt know
Hey, question about the Spes, is that the one Hank Green uses for SciShow? It looks reasonably similar, but I can't tell. The best "close up" of the mic I've seen is at ~55 seconds in .
On topic (sorry), Turtle Beaches are overpriced trash. The reliability is terrible, and the sound, especially for non-gaming, is awful. The mic is likewise bad.
hmm well I guess its too late :P. I have played around and experimented with it and heres my thoughts"
Pros:
* Decent 5.1 surround, I noticed the difference in games.
Cons:
* The little amplifier on the cord is annoying
* its comfortable, but not has comfortable as other headsets I have used
* Have to plug in about 5 or so cables into your pc which can be a pain in the ass and requires a 5.1 sound card, which not everybody has. (i do)
Overall it is fine. It was only bought for gaming and it performs fine. The music quality, however, is rubbish. It is not hard to see why, they had to fit small membranes on the speakers to make them fit and it sacrifices sound quality, in-game however it is fine. I have not tested the mike yet since I don't play to really use it so I will try it out some other day. The amplifier / control box thing on the cord is annoying to deal with but its got some pretty useful things on it so I am glad its there.
Overall, if its just for gaming the headset is fine. It was worth the buy I rekon.

I agree with that 100% and most gaming headphones are trash, your better off getting a good pair of headphones and a mic.
