This computer is fine and will run minecraft fine even with GLSL shaders. It will also be good for video editing as well.
Hope I helped
Thanks for the help. I've seen a lot of people say the i5 is overkill, however when I render my HD videos the CPU usage is always at 90-100% on all 4 cores & I figured upgrading to an i5 would help (as opposed to dual core i3)

Neckbeards! Doctor Cichocki does not approve of stupidity and neither do I, stop the spread of damned useless rules!

i5 is not overkill it's the staple of the average amount of power needed for current multitasking and gaming.
The Gigabyte Radeon HD6870 Windforceactually costs $10 more, which would offer better performance and cooling. that may be a better choice.
With a 6850 it should work, though a 500-600w power supply may be a better idea. If you are getting a 6870 as I suggested above however, than I would definitely recommend a 550w power supply
EDIT: While cases are personal preference, you may want to consider the Antec One Illusion instead. Looks very similar but offers a couple more features for a lower price (ie: better cable management, USB 3.0, etc).
Thanks for the help, just switched over to the Gigabyte 6870. One problem though, it seems like a lot of the 550w power supplies from well-known brands are expensive (eg. 100-120 CDN for a Corsair or Seasonic) so would a Cooler Master 550w be acceptable? That's $56.99.
Also in regards to the case I decided to go with a BitFenix Shinobi as it had good reviews, I like the look & it comes with some fans which will be supplemented but will definitely be nice to have. Good cable management too.

I mostly do HD video editing & MC, and want to know if I'd get at least 60 FPS w/32x texture pack. Budget is $1000 CDN or less.
Any suggestions and critique are welcome, but don't mindlessly bash please.
(and yes, I already have a monitor, mouse & keyboard)

Okay, good, 1000 CDN is kinda pushing my budget & didn't want to overspend.
First of all, should I switch the 6850 over to an Asus or Sapphire card?
And secondly, will the 430w power supply be enough for these components? I plan to overclock the i5 to around 4.2 gHz.
If the DirectCU cooler is triple slot, then get the Sapphire card. If not, just stay with the Asus card.

Also corrected a typo.
