Well first a few weeks ago rumors started coming out that a ghz edition would release of the 7970.
Well now Semiaccurate is reporting on it.
AMD also said a while back newer reversions of the 7 series could run at much lower voltages.
Now it could end up being more then 1GHZ but I have a feeling that AMD will want to reduce voltages more then clock higher to beat out Nvidia in power consumption
Some Chinese sites have leaked benchmarks of this even though really anyone could replicate the performance of a 1ghz 7970.
It does not smash Nvidia or even beat it that much when it does and it loses sometimes but It should help close the performance gap. Plus the 7970 overclocked better then the 680 to begin with but now with a new revision it should destroy the 680 in terms of overclocking.
The benchmarks above are done with 12.4 drivers and 12.6 is the newest.
Now these are not 100% official from AMD.
But according to semi we got a week before an official announcement so just say what you think and we will find out in a week.
FAIL!
Look at the CPU names in the CineBench and stuff "i5 3770k"!!!Just to say, I'm pretty sure that's Korean. Chinese writing looks nothing like that. I know, because I am Chinese =D

So this is pseudo official.

Either way though, should be interesting.
Ya I compared some of them to Tomshardware Benchmarks the numbers were a bit higher but that could be new drivers.

I don't trust a source that says i5 3770k
Ya your right its korean I bothered to look it up.
Also in the article written area they say I7 several times its probably a minor typo.
