Hey guys, I'm planning to get a new laptop next year and I have a goal, infact 1 goal that being to record Minecraft at 30-60fps I have been looking at some laptops but am not sure what is needed to RECORD Minecraft. Here are the specs of the one I'm thinking of buying.

I use FRAPS. I find it does good video capture for Minecraft. I'll warn you in advance, though, make sure the hard drive size will be adequate. It has great capture because the movies are uncompressed, so they'll take up a lot of space (which you could compress afterward with another application like Windows Movie Maker or VLC). I regularly clean out my capture directory once I've cut my movies. It will also cost less than $40 for the full version, but there is a trial version to see if it suits you before committing.
For my PC which is an ASUS Essentio M-51BC capturing at 1680 x 997, it's about 1GB a minute at 50FPS. And I'll just say in advance that I'm not trying to brag about my rig. I bought it over two years ago, and I intend to have it last at least eight more years.

So do you reckon I should change the 256GB SSD into a 1TB HDD? I think I would be able to,

But do you think that laptop would be able to record Minecraft with it's current specs?
I compared the two and they look very similar. Both have the same graphics card, so they won't be stealing from your RAM to run the graphics. Both have 1TB hard drives, and both have 16GB of RAM. That should be good for running Minecraft, for quite some time. And because FRAPS does not compress the video it captures, it will not be hogging your processor while it's recording. I'd just recommend checking on your free space every so often or clean up the capture directory once you've compressed them into a smaller format.

Okay, thank you!
Do you think I should use Shadowplay for recording, would that be a better idea?

Hi. New computers aren't exactly my strength, but the one I am looking at to buy for a similar purpose is this one:

It's mainly because I may want to record other games and I would like this laptop to last for 5-10 years so yeah.

As always thank you for your help!
