I thought this would be the best place to seek some advice?
My 8 year old daughter has happily been playing minecraft on my PS3 for the past 18 months but now she is asking for the PC version because her friends have told her it is better and has better skins to download (she wants the Adventure Time world download with the character skins).
She currently has a PC for general internet browsing and I've already downloaded the minecraft demo but only get a running speed of about 12-15 FPS.
I have been researching on the net to look for graphics cards and I've come across the EVGA GTX 750 Ti 2GB.
My question is, what speeds would I expect to get by installing this graphics card?
PC setup is as follows:
Processor: Pentium Dual Core E5800 @ 3.2GHz
System: 32 Bit (Running Windows 7)
Graphics: Intel G41 Express Chipset
There is currently no dedicated (plug-in) graphics card plugged onto the motherboard and I was originally toying with the idea of replacing the PSU with a bigger unit and buying a powered graphics card from ebay but I would also need to replace the wiring loom as the existing wires appear to be fixed to the existing PSU?
I am really hoping the EVGA GTX 750 Ti will answer my prayers and make one little girl very happy?
I've googled "how to replace a cpu" and now I'm tempted to have a play around with this.
Do you fella's have any recommendations as to what type of cpu I should buy? I think my current cpu has a LGA774 type socket?
Changing CPUs can be far more difficult than a Graphics card, especially Intel ones.
However from what I can gather that is one of the newest processors you can get on that socket.
The 750ti would be a great option, but I feel as if you wouldn't be getting your money's worth as the CPU would slow it down. I think a 730 would be appropriate or something along those lines. I'm not so familiar with older GPUs sadly.
