Before this topic, I want to apologize for my bad english, I'm Japanese and I'm improvising ~ ('_' ~ *)
well,
I'll buy an Ultrabook for use in college and playing Minecraft (Minecraft only, not more than that), but I have no ideas on what is good for this Ultrabook ...
This will run Minecraft? (Sony Vaio T13): Link
This is more expensive, but it looks good (Dell XPS 14 model $ 1199): Link
I need some tips or suggestions for choosing the right ultrabook and not disappoint.
Thanks!
Oh, I don't use mods or texture packs, only the default Minecraft!
Thanks Xaanos!
The AMD A6 looks attractive, particularly on light gaming, that fits with me!
But... I can't find any place that sells this one here where I live, not even the Amazon is helping... ヽ(#`Д´)ノ
So... more suggestions?
Thanks Xaanos!

I would stay away from dell computers. I mean, some are good and some are bad. If you care mostly about performance and power, an ultra book may not be for you. Maybe except the Samsung series 9? It is rather expensive.
I am using the XPS 15 L502 from dell. It runs Minecraft very well, but of course it is rather bulky, though it has some really cool features (AMAZING SOUND OMG IT IS TOO GOOD)
sorry, but the truth is that any laptop will run minecraft. The question is how well. Basically any intel core processor above 2.3 Ghz and HD graphics 3000 and up or descrite graphics card will run it well.

I always wanted to argue with a brick wall, I suppose the internet is the second best option.
Well... My problem is portability and ... ... play Minecraft. For my studies, running Word and Firefox, its okay. (haha)
And... yeah... I don't have good experiences with Dell computers, and other problem is find where I can buy Samsung's stuff here where I live. But also thanks for your tips, will be helpful for me!
Well, at least in my opinion, the SSD makes a HUGE diference in overall snappiness, sure that A6 will run MC faster, but anything with an SSD will feel way more snappy than that, especially because of the 5400 RPM drive.
On another note, I have an ultrabook (ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31a), and it runs MC on fast/normal at around 30 FPS @ 1080p.
Although, like Xannos said, there are better deals to be had, personally, I wanted a laptop I knew would have good build quality, thermal management, exellent battery life, small+light, and had an SSD, turns out, not very many laptops fit this requirement (the 1080p screen was really a huge bonus too).
SSD can be a bonus many laptops that can not be classified as an ultra book have them. It is more important here to get the better GPU then just general snappiness and often Ultrabooks sacrifice this for a SSD.
One of my main issues with Ultrabooks isthe specific asking for them as if they are this special class of computers. When in reality there are many laptops that are cheaper that almost make the specifications of an Ultrabook.
The Commies count their quarters and the ArtSci wish they could, the Engs have the longest pole and slam it home for good, so big, so hard, so tall, it reaches all the way to heaven, so shut your hole, we climbed the pole, we're sci 1 ing 7!!!
I prefer general snappiness, but to each his (or her) own. And also, they also have to have an Intel ULV CPU to be classified as an ultrabook, just sayin
The SSD will add the feeling of performance of making firefox load 20% faster but the AMD APU will add tactual performance over the Intel cpu. That is one of the main reasons its Intel marketing horseshit.

He could easily get the samsung laptop and for an extra 120 dollars or so put an aftermarket SSD in it and it would outperform both the ultrabooks he had listed - assuming he can find the Samsung in Japan.

The HD4000 will probably be ok at that resolution.
I am guessing as this is for college you want a light laptop.
I would recommend this instead of either of them its cheaper and faster and lighter.

Where do you live?
Darn I was hoping you were Japanese and moved to the USA or Canada so you could have just ordered from Newegg.
Well this is more expensive but it is quite a bit better CPU and GPU wise.

It is larger then the one I showed above but 14in is only a little bigger then 13.3 so its still a small laptop.
I would also recommend you get the 15$ Windows 8 upgrade. Windows 7 does not make proper use of the CPU in that laptop, Windows 8 does.
I looked around in some sites, and I finally found a place to buy.
Thank you!!

What about this one? http://www.shopping....eekbook-6z-1000
No. HP laptops have bad cooling and overheat.
