I have a very small YouTube channel that I almost never post on. In fact, I set all my videos to private a few months ago.
According to AdSense, my earnings are $52.
Even this seems way too high considering my view count and stuff. I have friends with bigger channels who haven't even hit $20 yet.
Anyway, today I received a cheque from Google for $138, and in AdSense the "payments" area reflects this as well.
I'm not complaining, $138 for no reason is fine by me, but it just seems weird. As mentioned earlier, I unlisted all my videos a few months ago because I wanted a fresh start, and yet here we are.
The cheque is legitimate. I cashed it at the bank, and as I said earlier, AdSense confirms the cheque was sent out at the end of January.
Am I just really lucky or is there a logical reason for this?
Its about the viewer. You may have less views, but the people that did watch your video did not use ad-block or they happened to click the ad link.
That doesn't explain why unlisted videos are generating revenue or why Google payed me despite only having an estimated earning of almost 1/3rd of what they gave me.

Unlisted videos are still indexed and can still be viewed with the URL, even if they are unlisted.

Sorry, I meant private. It just sounds better to say "The videos are unlisted." than "The videos are privatized." Privatized sounds like I am taking control of them out of government hands or something.
Have you been participating in sub4sub or views4views scams?
If yes, this is why. I wouldn't continue it, because google has been banning and taking legal action against people who do this.
No, I hate people who do that. All my videos were just Minecraft LPs and stuff except for a few.
The primary popular one was a computer unboxing that got 20,000 or so, and the other 20,000 was just gameplay videos with a few hundred views or so on average.

Are you absolutely sure? Because having only 118 subs and getting 20k views in even just a couple of videos is VERY abnormal.

Yes.
I'm not denying it is abnormal. As I stated in the original post, I have other friends who actually commit time to YouTube who don't get many views and make very little money.
Also I just noticed it is page views not video views. I assumed they were the same thing before but since channel views were mentioned I assume it is that.
Because my voice is high in them. I wanted a fresh start. I will private message you links to some videos.

Hey I think I watched you a while ago. My god, If that was a "high pitched" voice then I am scared for what a more deeper voice.
That is no reason to remove all of your videos.
Did you make that video wether it was making a Minecraft LP?
If so I did see your first episode

Well, perhaps slightly abnormal, but not unheard of. Personally, I've never promoted my channel or asked for subscribers in any way and I've managed to get 99, but my top videos have 50k, 35, 32k, and 26k views. Though I recorded them all myself IRL (mostly not video games), most of the highest viewed videos are of something happening that itself is copyrighted, so I can't monetize them. Just signed up sign adsense last fall but I'm not at my threshold yet.

Someone with more views may have a larger percentage of adblockers, thus earning them less money.
Also, i don't think you are allowed to distribute information on your earnings.
fm87!That would make sense. I should probably delete this, though I doubt Google employees frequent the MInecraft forums.

fm87!Hmm, that may make sense. I post on the forums quite a bit and perhaps people actually look at my channel.
Shouldn't be worth $100 though.
Anyway, I'm going to delete this in a bit so if anyone has any final input now is the time.
smh tbh fam
In total I have around 40,000. Recently I've been getting none as the videos are private.

Though unless you linked those videos to an external site, getting such high views could be troubling.
The computer unboxing was popular because that model had just been released and Dell was having a sale on it.
My friend has a video(re upload of some parody, i think it's gis first video) and it got like 40k views while every other video got a couple hundred
