If you ever buy a Anti-malware product, it is Eset NOD32, nothing more. Adblock Plus is not anti-malware, for it is not the ads that infect or payload drop on you, but it is the java scripts that execute that do. Plus using two real time monitoring/scanning Anti-Malware programs is a fatal mistake.
Seems reasonable at $40/year. Less than most out there. Seems like people find it quite reliable as well.
I'll think into it. I'm not one to download random files from websites I've never heard of, but occasionally it's nice to have peace of mind. Not that I download much anyway.

Mind explaining why having two antiviruses running at the same time is a mistake? They've always played well together and detected the same problems, and I only scan with one.
And, I'm aware that Adblock is not an AV. Just listing it.

Because they can conflict, they cause unnecessary bloat, and they may pick each other up as malware causing install corruption that you wouldn't immediately notice, usually disabling the scanner meaning you don't notice it broke until you get infected.

You should never use more than 1 AV at all.
Just like you should never use more than the windows firewall.
Interestingly: there is a paid AV still available which a few years ago detected ANY file that contained the text "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" in it. Text files, executables, you name it.
Hilariously pointless. The funny part was that the resource could simply be reversed, and then turned the right way around when used, and it wouldn't detect anything.
I never said that it was.
It blocks domains. AdBlock can be used to block elements and domains.
This is a legacy account, meaning it is no longer active

For the same reason you don't want two proctologists working on you simultaneously. One is bad enough.
