Now I am thinking that I may as well go with the Y50 for now. I'll build a PC later, and I would prefer getting a good reliable laptop from my parents then later in the summer after I have gotten a lot of money from a job, I'll build a good PC. And the Y50 will most probably satisfy my gaming needs for now.
I'm going to wait until May or June, just to see if there is possibly any convertibles coming out that has a decent GPU. I really want a powerful laptop that I can play games on, but I also really want it to be a convertible, too (with digitizer support). If there are any laptops coming out that are like this, please tell me.
This doesn't have to do anything with laptops, but I've been playing around with putting parts together in PCpartpicker (not building a computer for a while, though. Just playing around with putting parts together) and I want to put in a clean, professional looking case that isn't outrageously expensive. Any recommendations?
Oh, and could someone say how I'm doing as far as balance and such?

Currently the price is at $1000, but I don't want to over $950, if possible, including mouse and keyboard.
Do you think I should put the GTX 770 on for a few dollars less than the R9 280X? They are almost equivalent, with the R9 280X being ever so slightly better.
I'm also waiting til later this year before I think about building a computer (probably around November or December) I just want to learn more about how to balance out a system. Last year in November/December lots of computer parts were on sale and such so I want to take advantage of sales. I am interested in how the high end Maxwell chips perform (the mid range GTX 750 TI is very impressive for its price) before I build a computer.
The 860m should be slightly more powerful than the 770m with lower tdp.. Maxwell is a big improvement from kepler.
Yeah, I know. I've been reading all about it on forums and such. But right now I'm trying to practice putting together a balanced desktop PC. I'm still getting a laptop in May or June.
Now I'm more looking at something like a Thinkpad Yoga. I'm now planning on building a PC in the middle of the summer, and I'll use that for gaming instead of a laptop. Now the Thinkpad Yoga, under my budget, I can put in an i5 4300U and 4 GB of RAM (with the current pricing of things). Is that good enough for drawing, internet browsing, Microsoft Office, etc? I would think it is, but I would like to know for sure.
Oh, and if someone finds something like the Thinkpad Yoga with a bigger display, still having digitizer support, weighs less than 5 pounds, and great build quality, could someone tell me?
Definitely a great laptop. recommend it, idk about running all games 100% but should do most.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Judged on current world polution rates and percentages on increase/decrease trends, we will approximately face extinction due to it within the next 2 Centuries. However this time we have may be increased as our current evolution is becoming more efficient and are creating methods of saving power and creating new inventions to stop and decrease and even replace things that create pollution. We should be know as the Poluting Evolution and hopefully next be known as the Cleanup Evolution to symbolise that we are no longer creating amounts of pollution capable of making us Extinct.
I do not know, but i guess right now there would be tons of better choices with cheaper price and better specs. For around 1000 dollars, you can even get one with 1050.
It's like deciding to buy a gtx 980 even though we know nothing of it.

EDIT: Just changed it down to an R9 280X. Brought down the cost a lot.
